you're really an expert! for the first time I see a good trainer not forcing the dog to anything , but making the dog realize right from wrong on his own!
UNFORTUNATLY NOT ALL DOGS are like NATHAN Victoria as they are more than likely to STOP what they are doing and get there FIRST before you especially in MY CASE bing in a wheelchair , not that I have a dog yet posting from LONDON ENGLAND
A release cue is how you let the dog know that it's OK to stop doing what you've just commanded. For example, if you say "sit" the dog should remain sitting until you say the "release cue" word/phrase. A very common one is "OK." And, yes, you have to teach it to your dog but there's a ton of great info on the ehow site that can help you learn how!
Such a good point of letting your dog take a break if needed - we, as adult humans, can decide when we need a break and work/learn so much better when we get them.
Victoria, you are incredible! Your way of training is so simple yet very effective. Your patience and understanding of dog behavior is awesome! I love watching your training videos and listening to your tips. Thank you very much!
I love these videos! They're so helpful! I'm thinking of getting a dog and these videos help out a lot! also, I love the intro music.. it's so cheerful and happy!
When Nathan got up and walked away I heard him saying : All right skinny bitch I have had enough of you and the stupid door . Keep the treats to your self you have already learned a lot .
Great video! I have a German Shepard puppy who is almost 12 weeks year old! He like to bite a lot!!! He bites my hands my feet, the back of my legs, and any part on my arm. Can you do a video all about how to teach your dog not to bite? Also can you do another video on how to discipline... woith examples? The video you made before was unclear. Thanks!
I think she cuts just to save time a little? Lol. I mean obviously, your dog probably isn't going to learn these things in ten minutes. It takes practice and keeping up with the training. You guys are awfully snippy for people getting free advice.
The door knob is só no trigger for this dog He's used to go out on the other side. That's why the dog is running away from the door. He knows that people normaly do not come through that door. He is actually surprised to see someone coming through that door, so he's totally not showing his protecting behaviour as he's used to do at the other entrance. If that man was coming through the back, the dog definitly wouldn't stay put on that mat. He felt confused and misled. Dog-body language is great! 😉👍🏼
this will be a challenge! the yorkie in my york/maltese mix is quite curious. not a barker though. he just does a quick investigation of the person and then goes right to my side. if it's a stranger he'll run immediately back to me and sit at my feet. i wonder if that's good enough? he's still a pup though so maybe he has shyness going on with the strangers.
I know this is way after the video was posted, but if your dog gets excited when the door opens, how do you open the door without the dog getting out? (Or closing the dog in the door.)
What about knocking on the door. Sometimes, people can't find my doorbell (because it's a bit hidden) and how will the dog react to the knock when i teach her with the doorbell? And how will i be able to train her with both the knock and the doorbell? Is it any different?

What something else will she means a commend or a food treat? Till the people coming in? I will know it for my dog 😊 He go to his mand but if the people coming in he s jumping on it. Plz can you answer me 😉
i have german shepheerds:) they are wonderful. just remember that a puppy always will have the need to nibble on things o learn. they check out stuff with their mouth and teaching them not to is not fai to a young dog. i would wait for a while. they need to grow up. BUT do not let him bite your hands by just remove it. you can give him a toy instead.. but just remember that they learn by chewing as puppies:) GOOD LUCK with your new baby
I have a jack russell 3 years old i dnt no his back ground if some one knocks he runs around in fast circules and jumped up and bit my leg this has tryed to happen again. I have a jack russell female whos 7 tje only problem i have with her she hangs off the lead by her teeth when i go to walk her my labrador she fab dog. Milky who ive had for 3 or 4 month is the one who has bit me. Hes so loving i dnt no his back ground but this is the only problem i have.
VICTORIA VICTORIA PLZ HOW DO YOU desensitize a dog to a sound like 🚜 tractor or slamming 🚗 door or 🐈 meowing under the 🏠 (we rent landlord has "barnyard" 🐈) tht winter under our 🏠
I wish they started with a dog who hadn’t very obviously been through the training before, to show what happens. I have a 12 week old puppy who doesn’t sit still long enough to do this training. This doesn’t really help if you are starting with an excited puppy
She showed you how to teach your dog, there is no reason why she should make a two hours video of trying again and again, until he gets it.There is no difference even if you have crazy young labrador, it just take more time and patience, thats all.
Victoria makes these videos as you call them becuse NOT ALL DOGS will learn to do this FIRST TIME as you say it will time and Patience , just hope the person thats at the door will also be patient as well
You have to respect other peoples' opinions. Some people believe giving treats is good and some dont. That doesnt make him a bad dog owner! If something else works for him then he should use that! Its whatever works for you really.
MsTxibi he's been trained because she trained him, it's her job🙄 she probably has dogs for a few weeks to train for people and had probabaly been training him. Shouldn't be so quick to judge!

Then you clearly don't know anything about being a good dog owner! She is very helpful actually to make and show us how to teach dogs correctly. So if I was you... I wouldn't adopt a dog. If you already do then shame on you.
is it obvious to anyone else that the dog is ALREADY TRAINED,,,, yea its just that easy,,I call bullshit,,, try that with one of the dogs I rescue off the street,...she is a joke....ILL stick to Cesars vids because I actually learn something when I watch them...
So sorry you don't appreciate her method--it really does work (as long as the dog's human practices just as much as the dog). :) Yes, this dog is trained but do watch her old TV show, she worked with MANY dogs that weren't trained and she demonstrated over and over how easily dogs can be trained with positive methods. Peace.
It's sad that you would rather abuse the dog than to train in a positive manner. This method DOES work with untrained dogs, I've used it and it's wonderful.
Not to mention, if the dog is already trained, why does it run around like crazy when the doorbell rings? My dog, after using this method, doesn't move at all anymore. Cesar teaches to punish the dog for doing something wrong, and there's information out there - a LOT of it - that proves that is an inhumane way to train. Educate yourself.

I tried this with my dog. It didn't work. Tried it again with my method and it worked.
Thanks Victoria! You have now helped my dad have more confidence in adopting a puppy which is a really big step for us!!! :)
Just watching this video made my dog go ape sh** every time the doorbell rang.
Such a Handsome Dog....
I love these videos! They're so helpful! I'm thinking of getting a dog and these videos help out a lot! also, I love the intro music.. it's so cheerful and happy!
You make it look so easy.
omg! this is so interesting! i can't wait to get a dog and teach her everything you're teaching me! :)
poor nathan! he just wanted to come in and say hi haha. Simply awesome lesson!
THANK YOU sooo much Victoria !!
This worked well with my 16wk old Karelian bear dog mix who is known to be impulsive, the whole dominance-submission thing makes her more aggressive
My favorite result of teaching this to my dog many years ago is that he now does it automatically
Another amazing video from Victoria!!!Victoria you've been an inspiration for me!!!Love your work-never stop!!!!! :D
Well done. Excellent lesson.
Go Nathan Jr!!! Your even MORE famous now!!!
Actually she's pretty amazing
BTW I ❤ YOU I'm trying to use some of your teaching techniques
when you have two dogs, should you teach each dog one at a time?
I LOVE YOU VICTORIAA
When Nathan got up and walked away I heard him saying : All right skinny bitch I have had enough of you and the stupid door . Keep the treats to your self you have already learned a lot .
Could you do a video for dogs who bark a lot? To teach them the "Thank you" cue?
Actually there is a it's me or the dog episode dedicated to the thank you cue😁

Great you really helps me
What about dogs that jumps and are energic after they have been on their mat and get relized ?

the door made pretty wierd noises , but otherwise i enjoy watching these videos!
@it's T Never used that door.... no trigger at all for the dog 😂🤣
How about a video on how to fix a squeaky door.

My dogs they are always jumping when the bell ring they love to greet guest lol
Great video :-) x
Can you make a video about how to get a dog to stop a dog from jumping on people
Show dominance, give it an uppercut. That'l teach it.
Does this trick work for when I open the garage door? my Dog keeps running away when I open the garage,
Her house looks so nice from what I've seen haha
what type of dog is that
What do you do if the dog/dogs don’t stop barking & are going crazy...? I’m at a loss of what to do....
What something else will she means a commend or a food treat? Till the people coming in? I will know it for my dog 😊 He go to his mand but if the people coming in he s jumping on it. Plz can you answer me 😉
this is the first time i see her having her hair down ^^

My problem is that i have 3 dogs and the oldest one is like that and the other 2 aren't and i'm afraid they will copy her behaviour.
How about a video of a puppy or a 1 yr. old who needs to learn these skills. This dog is already trained.
Lol

I have people coming into my house all day long I wish I could find a way to train my dogs not to rush the door when someone comes in.
@Meagan Pass use another entrance like Victoria 👍🏼 Dogs are creatures of habit.....
You have to respect other peoples' opinions. Some people believe giving treats is good and some dont. That doesnt make him a bad dog owner! If something else works for him then he should use that! Its whatever works for you really.
But I like my doggy jumping! She happy!
i like you
Teach us how to tell a dog to stay
"Each time the door opens, Nathan looks at me"
And Nathan is thinking : what a moron.
Also multiple edit cuts at key moments. I call bull, too.
it's NOT bull.Obviously it take more than 5 minutes. Why don't you try it instead of being douchy about it?
And if that dog was a crazy young Labrador? Come on, you've chosen the quietest dog n earth, plus he's been trained before, for sure
MsTxibi he's been trained because she trained him, it's her job🙄 she probably has dogs for a few weeks to train for people and had probabaly been training him. Shouldn't be so quick to judge!
Horrible sounding door :l
so, basically, teach you dog to stay first. not really helpful

Yep, you made your point Stephen Taylor - you're an idiot.
especially when he hits dogs right? causing more aggression? yeah you have fun!
