To be fair, Bass didn't exist when the RS was in development, so I get why the original botched Proto Man's role. MM just didn't have a true rival at the time. Not bad for a collection of clips, though.
Yeah. Also for their side, they made it so that Wily stole the blueprints to make his own robot, thus creating Proto Man. Rock was actually the original Prototype Robot reconstructed in the cartoon. Let's say it's better than what we got in "Fully Charged".
@@robbiewalker2831 True. But it DOES make for a more interesting character since Proto Man would've eventually joined the good guys if they got a Season 3.
Coming back to this cartoon really makes me think that Proto Man makes a more interesting and more effective rival to Mega Man than Bass, though. Where Bass is just obsessed with defeating Mega Man and is a sore loser, Proto Man does show respect to Mega Man as a friendly rival, somewhat.
I heard that after MM7 was released, they were planning on introducing Bass and Treble. What I heard was Protoman was supposed to be damaged and knocked offline during a battle. Wily and the other robots were forced to retreat without Protoman. Megaman saw this as the opportunity he'd been waiting for. He took the unconscious Protoman to Light's lab and asked Light to reprogram him to be good. Light was not sure if he could make Protoman be like Megaman as Protoman was constructed from early plans that had flaws. He was supposed to say that he can remove the evil programing that Wily had put into him. When fixed and reactivated Protoman felt different and no longer wanted to work for Wily or on the side of evil. He was supposed to help Megaman beat Wily in a battle. Mega, Light, Rush and Roll wanted Proto to stay with them. Roll was even ready to finally acknowledge Proto as her brother as well but Proto had decided even though, he no longer wants to work on the evil side, he just doesn't feel right staying with them and that he wants to explore all possibilities for him in the world but stated whatever he does become, it'll be his choice and no one else's not even Wily's. Protoman's independence still remained in his program. Protoman was then supposed to run off and Megaman wanted to chase after him but Light was supposed to tell Megaman to let Protoman go. Light stated that Protoman has to do what humans call soul searching. It was then that Wily decided he was going to have to build a replacement for Protoman. He would use the same plans that he used to build Protoman and make some improvements. It was then that Bass would be introduced as well as Treble. Unlike Protoman who would always be trying to get Megaman to join Wily's side, Bass would want to destroy Megaman all together believing the world isn't big enough for both of them.
jefffox1012 I know. The reason I was putting Sonic Boom and Pac-Man's Ghostly Adventures was because of the Changes that was unnecessary. Sonic has a "Get it done" attitude, a la Bill Clinton. Pac-Man was given an Adventurous Family Man persona since the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Removing those elements felt really stupid, because that would make them extremely generic.
I re-played the part where Ice Man gets launched to the ground and explodes, restoring the frozen land to it's original land form. I never thought it would be so satisfying to watch Ice Man die like that...
Mega Man: a fighting robot armed with a condensed plasma cannon, nanocarbon-hi strength alloyed steel armor, and a mechanism that allows him to replicate the abilities and powers of other robots by touch. He is the ultimate evil fighting self aware robot boy.
Nicely made. I like it. I know Bass wasn't introduced until Mega Man 7 and the RS MM animated show had already been made at that time. I heard they were intending for Bass and Treble to be introduce in the RS. To make it short, Protoman was supposed to be damaged and unconscious in a battle and Wily and the other bots were forced to retreat without him. MM was supposed to bring Protoman to Dr. Light. Dr. Light didn't know if he could reprogram PM to be like MM but he knew he could remove Wily's evil influence from PM programming. PM was supposed to feel different when he woke up and had no desire to work on Wily's evil side anymore. He was supposed to help MM beat Wily in a battle, forcing Wily to retreat. PM however, didn't feel right working with MM, either and decided to leave declaring whatever he becomes, it will be his decision and his alone. MM wanted to go after him but Light told MM to let PM go as PM has to do something similar to what humans call soul searching. After PM is gone, Roll has finally accepted him as her brother too but wishes she hadn't waited till now. MM wonders with PM no longer working for Wily if Wily's evil team is now weakened. Light doesn't know but knowing Wily the way he does, he knows Wily will try something else. Wily decides to build a replacement for PM using the original plans for both PM&MM but makes some modifications. He builds Bass and Treble. Unlike PM who tries to persuade MM to join them, Bass wants to destroy MM believing the world isn't big enough for both of them. It would've made the series even more interesting but it was cancelled mainly because the action figure toys weren't selling very well. They should've used the series to promote the video games.
That sounds awesome. It's a pity they never did it. Its horrible to see how many amazing series were cancelled because "not enough action figures are being sold". Young Justice, The Pirates of Dark Water... some really good shows.
I thought it was gonna be some goofy ass edited video with irrelevant clips, but it's actually very good and it adds up to the audio pretty well! Ruby Spears should've kept the original design or if there was legal issues, do the best to make the designs relevant to the game, instead of going full ape shit on steroids.
CMoller I'm guessing they want Mega Man, Roll, and Proto Man into Teenagers, because it's hard to get a proper voice for a child look... Or they just can't pull off the child look at all, as evidenced in "The Beginning" where they made the prototype Robot (NOT Proto Man) smaller than Dr. Light and Dr. Wily.
There is an explanation for this. Because of superheroes like Spiderman and Batman catching attention of children at the time, they thought a cartoon with child-like characters wouldn't make the cut. So they Aged the characters up to catch the attention of children.
@@demonizedsonic7972 It's been a long time since I made this comment, but I learned what they had to do back in the day to appeal their audience, including with any kind of media, and to be fair, I guess it was the best they could do since the world was so different back then, it was a bit harder to stay communicated with everyone.
@@demonizedsonic7972 It's still jarring from a canon perspective. Mega Man (despite what the name makes you think) is meant to be a child alongside his sister Roll. @@mitchfletcher2386 I did hear that that was supposed to happen.
If only the upcoming Dentsu/DHX/Man of Action cartoon looked like this.
I just don't think it would live up to the Classic Mega Man series, since it's going to be like Sonic Boom, and Pac-Man's Ghostly Adventures.
Robert Walker I wouldn't say Sonic Boom because that's more of a Seinfeld/Simpsons styled Sitcom.(Which DOESN'T fit Sonic in the slightest.)

At least the DuckTales Reboot is more promising.

I wouldn't even know that the original looks different if I didn't see it first, great job!
it looks like shit, so congrats on your blindness
Better than the original opening scene.
MysteriousGirl 92 And, hopefully better than the Mega Man Reboot.
