Amazing! I have'nt heard this since I was a kid. SLAYER stayed at my house in Portland, Oregon @ the Death House. Memories are so important & blessings as I'm suddenly 16 again in 1984!
Ah the fukking death house! I still have my rock palace ticket stubb!"slow no mercy tour ., and remember when they played chemical warfare as a teaser of what’s to come !
"Ok guys, lets tone it down a bit and see what we can actually put down on vinyl'' , I purchased this lp way back when it was first released in 85 and I already had Show No Mercy and Chapel, this recording is way heavier than the Hell Awaits release. Saw these guys blow the roof off of Larry's Hideaway nightclub in Toronto way back in Oct 1984, will never forget it, my ears were ringing for days and it was the heaviest show I ever attended and I have been to many over the decades. Now 63 yrs old and still have wonderful memories of much better times,
Hell Awaits suffers from muddy production toning down the rawness. I also bought it in 1985 and I was obsessed with it in high school, down to having a demin jacket with a hell awaits back patch and writing satan laughs and you eternally rot inside my locker.
This is amazing! It's hard to even explain how ground breaking this was in 1984-85. This changed music forever (not to mention my life!), and that's not an overstatement. And yes, peak Slayer for sure.
I bought Hell Awaits on vinyl when it came out-followed by their epic show with Exodus and Venom at Hollywood Palladium in April 1985. A night that will never be forgotten.
This is what we could have gotten. Instead we got the final version with the grateful dead/jazz fusion mix. Lots and lots of chorus and reverb saturating everything. The final version STILL wiped everything out, even that mix couldn't stop SLAYER.
It took me a long time to get through the terrible mix of _Hell Awaits_. For a long time I thought it was just me. It wasn't. This release and mix is amazing.
thanks for uploading this im 55 been listening to slayer since i been in high school....im also a guitar player this killer never knew this exsisted :)
This is actually death metal. The seed that spawned bands that were considered or purposefully called themselves death metal. Possessed included. Relentless pursuit of the heaviest, fastest, most evil riffing possible with the skills and awareness they had at the time. Death metal.
Fabulous - well done for getting this up here 😈Obviously the power and energy is incredible, and of course they sound killer tight (... and coke-fuelled 😝), but what's really interesting about hearing these songs without the vocals is it makes it much easier to trace elements back to their origins: traces of Maiden in "Hell Awaits" and "At Dawn...", Priest influence in the first parts of "Crypts", etc... but by now they have alchemised those influences into something completely their own, totally unlike what any other band was doing at this time. This stuff is utterly ageless and will never fade... thanks!
piękna wersja demo dzięki bracie ,Jeff Hanneman sie cieszy jak to słyszy z nieba i nagrywa dla nas nowe kawałki Jeff był motorem slayera, pozdrawiam jeffa i slayer i ciebie dzieki
Can't remember 84 or 85 i mailed away for a slayer fan club membership i received the picture in the thumbnail some buttons and this exclusive Slaytanic wehrmacht t-shirt, people would ask me where i got it so many times at the slayer concerts, yeah that picture brings me right back.
the last remnants of the idea of the internet. sick sht unearthed. Damn this is fking ripping. I liked these guys from ads in the early 80's before i even heard them. Traveled far to buy their first sht day one. I've seen em a dozen times, exactly i think. Twice in 86/87 for Reign in Blood, hometown sht. ( insane, insane beyond anything you think is insane) Never heard this. What tf. Dl this for my death bead.
They were never ordinary. They had it ALL right out of the gate. But at this early stage they were still humble and very approachable . Beer fueled young men doing what ever was necessary to get to the level of success. So like a regular band in that way for sure.

Shows why these guys are the kings of thrash metal
The masters at work 🔥💀🤘

Early Slayer and as raw as it gets. Dave is such a madman
One the best uploads on the youtubes. Holy shit!!!!!

It took me a long time to get through the terrible mix of _Hell Awaits_. For a long time I thought it was just me.
It wasn't.
This release and mix is amazing.
It’s my favorite Slayer album. I got it when it first came out. I still love it.
Damn, this is amazing!! Praise of Death sounds so damn great!!
Anybody else find themselves singing for Tom here?
This is awesome that it sounds this great as an Instrumental,I can just imagine filling in the words myself.🤘
Just take a page from the cumtown boys and make all the lyrics about being gay and wanting to wear pretty dresses.
Some of this is so fast & tight, it’s too bad He’ll Awaits didn’t get the production it was supposed to.
Rick Rubin did a amazing job on the stuff he did with them
Wow....Hadn't even heard of this one exsisting!.....THIS IS awesome! Thanks for the upload!
Saw Slayer for the first time on the Hell awaits tour with Abattoir and DRI at the country club 🍻
Abbatoir!!
This is an awesome find and upload for Slayer fans. I never knew this gem was in circulation.
Much appreciation to all involved.
thanks for uploading this im 55 been listening to slayer since i been in high school....im also a guitar player this killer never knew this exsisted :)
Awesome!
FLAWLESS!
This is actually death metal. The seed that spawned bands that were considered or purposefully called themselves death metal. Possessed included. Relentless pursuit of the heaviest, fastest, most evil riffing possible with the skills and awareness they had at the time. Death metal.
This is even better and faster than in the LP.
Hell Awaits era Slayer is best Slayer.

This album still gives me that evil vibe 🔥💪🏻🇺🇸💯👊🏻
Fucking slayer! Fucking awesome!
I often forget that many rehearsals that the singer needs to preserve their voice.

Crazyto think this is about 40 yrs old. Music from 40yrs ago was sooooo different when i was a kid....
Made my night!
NO APPARENT MOTIVE TO KILL AND KILL AGAIN!!!!
This is awesome! Thanks for posting this :)

This is why They're Big Four!!
Got this back tha days from a tapedrader in California.huge
Slayer at peak
Black Metal is my thing... but Slayer rules! True Metal gods...
Albums like Slayer's "Hell Awaits" and Possessed's "Seven Churches" definitely influenced Black Metal, besides the usual like Venom and Bathory.
Hell yes
Ahead of their time!! 😊
Slayerrrrrrrrr
Thats special
Slayer = goood m,usic....

FUCKING SLLAAAAAAAYYYYYEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonder how many times they practiced this? Gotta be every day for years
They started playing some of these songs live in the spring/summer of '84, and the album was released in April '85, so more like a few months.
How did you get this?!
Do you know the month & location?
This band starte black metal.im love boack
Dave Mustaine wrote all the riffs (and the lyrics and the album cover art)
Really?
@@HeritageWealthPlanning he wrote my dna too
Calm down mustard boy
Kerry got all the credit though.
Mustaine also wrote Fur Elise but Beethoven covered it without giving him credit.
Como gusta escuchar esto sin voz
Hell awaits sounds like new york hardcore
1985.
Slayer,Celtic Frost,Possessed.
Prehistory.
А что без вокала?
Tom never sings out loud during rehearsals. But you can see his mouth moving
@#$ AF. 👊😡👊
Sounds better the album.
Wonder if they knew they had the baddest music in the land at this point or were they like we are just an ordinary band?
They were never ordinary. They had it ALL right out of the gate. But at this early stage they were still humble and very approachable . Beer fueled young men doing what ever was necessary to get to the level of success. So like a regular band in that way for sure.
It certainly hadn't gotten to their heads yet ..
