Defiantly got that 380 front end shudder, I spent half a life time and $$$$ to get that shudder and shock out of the front end. I love my 380, pretty worked and a 40mm carb, should make about 60hp I think, I need to get it on a dyno.
Yeah it does wobble a bit. All my 380's did. Don't really notice it on the dirt. I did have a steering dampener on my 520 that stopped it but that also was a heavy bike. Go the 380
@@jakobsmith3772 I learnt to hang onto the tank with my knees. I got to ride one every night for nearly a year working away. Look up my Bridle track videos. That was my 99
If the 380 is the same chassis as a 300 from 2002 then the steering is super light. Its very easy to manouver but feels twitchy and unsure at first in deep snow. If you give it a bit more sag(lower the rear) it will give it a better steering angle and it will be very good to ride :) My friend bought a 2002 300exc and we both noticed the front being very nervous cause the ex owner had the rear super high. A heavier/thicker inner front tube will also give the wheel more mass and make it more stable at speeds.
I reckon it might be harder to balance the bike if you need a quick reaction if you have a damper though. Have you tried having more weight on the back or front (switch riding position)?@@2strokereptile
@eamh2002 im only 65kg so its hard shifting lots of weight. It does help gripping the tank with my knees. I might just put more tension on the head stem bearings. Although it hasnt really bothered me
I sold my first 380 and got a 520. The 520 was heavy and felt slower. The 380 are lighter and can throw around. Ive ridden a 450 2005 that still could put a smile on my face but I will always like 2 strokes more. The 450 was in-between the 380 and 520 for moving around.
@@2strokereptile Ah oké, the 520 is a absolute beast also. Now I ride a 250 and my dad a 450, but I really want a 450 but I know to be honest it's to powerful for me at the moment. So I thought maybe a 380 would be super nice. But I don't know if a 380 is more powerful then a 450
The 520 was powerful but hard to turn for me. The newer 300 with fuel injection are even better again. Ive had 3 x 380s. A 380 is more aggressive being a 2 stroke compared to a 450 4 stroke. The 450 would pull a wheelie with ease but the 380 sling shots when hitting power band but can be adjusted. Or keep the wheels spinning. I have a few other 380 videos with my last 99 model against a yamaha 250. I had to keep waiting.
nice Bike, but the R33
Hell yeah, the GTR is in my playlist

Sweet, I have the same bike freshly rebuilt and it’s a rocket. Scary to ride tho lol
Cheers, Thats why I love them.
This is my 3rd one.
@@2strokereptile nice man this is my first bike so it’s a bit much but im learning quick

My Dreambike. I dont care about handling! 😅
Im relatively old and have good experience as she has 😎
They still handle. It is my favourite dream dirt bike also. Im 50 and will keep riding as long as I can kick it over.

@eamh2002 some interesting things to try. I always struggle in light sand with the front.
Was thinking of a steering stabiliser to stiffen it a bit

At what speeds/Gear can this bike wheelie with just throttle no pulling on the handlebars or anything like that just raw power
Depending where you sit 3rd gear will always pop up and 4th maybe if you sat back.
@@2strokereptile thats a stock 380 too? Also what gearing you had?
@@xfdfff2620 standard gearing. Have the stiffer powerband spring so kicks in harder. Im only 70kg.
Have exhaust and jetting.
One day I really really want one, I heard things about how powerful he is so I'm very curious. Is the 380 faster and more powerful then the KTM 450?
