Heist aan zee, a Belgian coastal tawn, had its great days in the 1880's. The seacoast was lined with hotels and was thé place to be.Now its a modern, low profile beach tawn, good place to live.
Happy memories for me, i stayed in the Grand Hotel De La Plage in 1960 as a schoolboy on summer holiday. The Belgians were lovely to us and i always think of those carefree days. Thanks for the post, it brought back so may good thoughts.
