I also had the same reaction as you were. Speechless for too beautiful voices brought by two ladies. Their minds also will definitely be transmitted to YUI-METAL who left the band for her illness.
As a 67 year old fan I am gratified to see grown men all over the internet brought to tears by Su and Moa's performance - it means I'm not the only one! There is something otherworldly about the power and longing in Su's voice that reaches into my soul to a place that hasn't been touched in years. And I am so grateful for it. Your reaction was the same as mine - stunned - which is amazing. After 10 years this band continues to stun with one performance after another. New sub here. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the view, comment AND SUB!! That means a lot to me. I'm also continually surprised by what Babymetal is able to do. I've always been somewhat emotional, but I've never been deeply moved by music the way I do by Babymetal, and it's mostly down to Su's amazing voice and performance. Thank you again, and I'll try to keep going with this. It's terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
Its a remarkable performance that puts a whole different spin on the song. Its interesting that in a recent interview Su said that she was surprised by the fan reaction to the song, because she thought it was a light and hopeful song, but fans interpreted it as a melancholy song with a serious message. I wonder if this version is them responding to the fans impression of the song and performing it in a more melancholy and sombre style. They also revealed that Monochrome has been in development for four or five years, so its not really a 'new' song.
To me, the song sounds like it's dealing with a serious and sad issue but is hopeful and uplifting about it. Those are usually the songs that hit me in the feels. The beginning of this song, the first verse or so got me so hard my entire spine started tingling and I couldn't sit still. I don't know if that came across in the video.
@@autohmae in the description for TOO, they've alluded to it being a mix of old and new. Perhaps the studio track actually mixes some of their old recordings from 4-5 years ago with those done relatively recently; that'd be rather interesting!
@@autohmae Funnytoss has been talking about this on discord and he said that he and Capable-Paramedic have been discussing whether Moa said "recorded" or "started recording", so there may be a lack of clarity in the translation. They're the two most reliable translators in the community, so I'm sure they will figure it out. Given how much Su has grown as a vocalist in the last few years, I'd be surprised if they used something recorded back then when they could do a new recording. It seems more likely that they have been working on the song for a long time, but the recording we hear is recent.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 This version is getting attraction for new reactors and hopefully this new side of BM will get many more new fans. Love this piano version, last time we got a new version was The One - Stairway To Living Legend, another beautiful ballad version. The extra backing chorus dressed in white did a great a job, thou I'm not really sure who might be, maybe them with the third new member? OTFGK. Thanks for sharing this 🦊🤘🌈
Thank you for your support, both watching all the reactions and commenting. It really helps a lot. Yeah, I wonder who the people dressed in white were. It was such a beautiful clip when they slowly held hands.

Thank you for watching the video and commenting! Yes, it was indeed very beautiful. I had to wipe tears there for a moment. It's very gratifying to see Babymetal getting the recognition they deserve.
@@ChiliConCarnage Su-metal singing for me is: a strong warm embrace, it always feels personal as well, like their is just one audience member: me. If that makes sense.
@@autohmae Well said. I agree with everything you just said. Now that you said that, I think that might be why I always get emotional listening to her sing.
According to MOA, recording of this song began over five years ago. YUI was also a member at that time. The three girls in the chorus wearing white capes that appear in the middle of the song may symbolize BABYMETAL at that time... The three girls' backs.... Makes me cry.... 😭.
Yeah, it's a beautiful song in both melody and lyrics. And when she has those tender vocal moments, it just breaks my heart, even after listening to it more than 20 times.

It's so beautiful, and a real testament to the fortitude of the people of Japan that they've rebuilt such a city in that location. ❤️🙏❤️
Reminds me so much of Little Su, aged 8 to 10, performing at a mall. Same Mona Lisa smile, same directness, same Queen.
I can see what you mean. Her face when she goes hard is the exact same.
She's come a hell of a long way from singing Christmas songs in a mall.
I was as much crushed by this song as You :) and everytime I listen to it it makes me spare some tear...:)
I can see that. The song itself is beautiful, but it's Su's voice that breaks me, every time.
In this crazy world of pestilence, war, and natural disasters, I will embrace this pure voice again tonight and go to sleep.

Agree. Absolutely. Beautiful.
Yeah, I've always loved the songs that are more stripped down with heavy focus on Su's voice.

It's super effective!
I've been in a daze since yesterday when the First Take premiered. The mask slipped a little and we saw Su chan towards the end 😭🤧
SU-METAL, well...she really IS the Queen!
Yes sir! And this really proves it to any doubters and haters.
Babymetal did it again, an other great performance to say the least.
Yes, absolutely. Su is so good, even if she was a solo artist, focusing on this kind of music, she would still be my favourite.
@@ChiliConCarnage as some have said, she could be singing the phonebook and we would still buy it. 🙂
