We have an open house (teacher meet and greet) and parent night the week before school starts. This is a nice way for the children and their parents to get to know our classroom and us. In this video I talk about what we do the week prior, getting everything ready for these events.

Love-love-Love the new fabric board on the wall for your circle time area!
I love using flannel boards! And my magnetic board, too!
love your set up and your explanation of what happens on parent night and open house.
Laura Laforest Glad it was helpful!
I really love the way you arranged the centre's. The children will surely enjoy it😀. Good luck to your open house day!!!
Rona Miclat Thank you so much!
I would ld love to know more about the on-line photo album for parents.
I absolutely love you classroom set up!
Good job! 👍🏼
Widalys Lugo Thank you! 😊
Would you be interested in doing a video about parent teacher conferences? And how you do portfolios for students if you do them? Love yours videos! Very helpful for the age I teach!
With my age group we do not have formal conferences. Parents can schedule a conference at any time if they desire. Portfolios/journals are in the 3's, 4's, and 5's class. What I focus on in my class is documenting children's work via weekly photo shows and simple evaluations twice a year (that are based on our state's assessment forms).
How do you teach about Jesus to your class? What lessons do you talk about with the students?
Hi Marilyn! We are a Christian preschool, and in my class we talk a lot about loving each other just as Jesus loves us. Actual Bible-related stories are done during our church's Sunday school. We do offer Chapel Time once a month with parents, too.
