why 1 with 1 it is 1?? it is 2 so why here it is 1

+Math cafe hi well when it comes to base 2 or binary numbers we can only use the numbers 0 and 1.
So there is no 2 or 3 or 4 etc. Also this operation is the OR operation and not the addition operator.
