The Only Tecsun I have owned is My Pl-660 and I love it. It is years old now and still working good. The Other night I could not sleep and got up and found a Cuban Station broadcasting on 9065 KHZ It was pretty weird. Still not sure what that was. Thanks for Sharing Tom
Just got mine yesterday. So far it’s a great little radio. It will keep me busy for a while before I ever miss the lack of SSB. Sound quality is excellent and sensitivity is terrific. Very very pleased with it for very little money.
Looks like a nice little radio 📻. I bought the PL-330 based on several video reviews including yours and have been very satisfied and impressed by it. I also bought the PL-368 and H501x all bought from ANON-CO. TECSUN makes great radios. I also bought a MLA-30+ loop antenna 📡 and I'm getting even stronger clearer signals now. ANON-CO is a great distributor since they are in New Jersey and I'm in New York City I get even faster delivery than the predicted delivery date.
Cool. Some people down it for not having SSB, but, they are forgetting that radios with SSB are very expensive in many countries. Some really have no need for SSB. To us , this is a hobby. To those in 3d World countries, it’s the only way they can get anything other than Local news. These radios are not made Solely for the Western world. Nor, is everyone into SSB Listening. This would be a good alternative to a higher priced radio. 📻😁❗️👍
Finally, Tecsun has released the English language (HK export) version of the PL-320! I've had this model since December 2022, albeit the Chinese domestic market version. Mine comes with a much earlier firmware number, the 3202. The PL-320 doesn't have SSB as it uses the SiLabs Si4734 DSP chip and not the more expensive Si4735, which includes SSB. However it has an undocumented, user configurable ETM+ threshold setting by holding down the dedicated B/W key while in AM mode. The RSSI display will flash for a few seconds and both the volume control and tuning knob are used to change these figures independently. I initially messed up my PL-320 by not writing down its original values and even today I have no idea what its default settings are. I haven't found the English manual in PDF format at this time. 📻😟 IMO, the PL-320 is much better than the PL-310ET which I briefly owned. Its AGC is properly configured and handles strong MW/SW signals without overloading like the 310ET (that goes for the PL-398MP too and probably also the PL-380). Unlike the PL-330, the PL-320 includes the 9kHz bandwidth for its SW band, giving a total of four options: 2.5 kHz, 3.5 kHz, 5.0 kHz, and 9.0 kHz. The problem with the PL-320 is it's NOT very competitively priced against its much older but SSB capable sibling, the PL-330. If it were as inexpensive as the XHDATA D-109 or the Sihuadon R-108, the PL-320 would have been more popular. I think the PL-320 is a very decent performing SW radio but those who are already eyeing the PL-330 will probably give this one a miss. 😐
very true and well put. I see Xhdata have jacked up their prices since last weekend. Tecsun said to be working on the bones of a new high-end radio so that should be interesting to see towards the end of this year or early 2024
They've definately taken over from Sangean, Eton, and CCrane as the leader of making shortwave radios in all price ranges. The only thing I see is they seem to be in competition with themselves on many of their models. Edit: This radio is only $7 cheaper than the 330, which offers SSB.
Tom's radio room show I learn lot from you about shortwave receivers and antenna for shortwave receivers and what to lisn to on shortwave and ssb and what time in utc at your location
They should have just added type c-usb to the pl330 and one other new feature. I would have gifted my old pl330 and picked up a new one. This pl320 with no ssb is not exciting.
All low cost shortwave receivers that rely on a DSP chip have indented tuning knobs, including the PL-320. Hybrid PLL/DSP receivers like the Tecsun S-8800, PL-880, 990 and H-501 have smooth tuning knobs since their AM band section uses a PLL synthesized circuit.
@@StratmanII wrong. Not all. I bet you're thinking about mute on tuning. The chuffing with DSP. I'm talking about the physical turning of the knob. This has about an 1/8 of a turn per khz. I can say after 350+ radios and 95% DSP the 330 and 320 are one of a handful with an indented tuning knob. I think the ATS-909x might be indented as well. I digress. Thanks for playing along and have a great day.
Obvious replacement for the PL310 but the XHDATA D109, with almost identical radio features, beats this one by between 5 to 15 dollars depending on discounts from various online sellers.

Cuba has been b’casting some pretty bizarre things lately, on MW, too.
📻🙂

I have a problem with BW bouton, its only keep 1 position, before was working I don't know why stopped to work😢

Does it have calibration like on the PL-330?
No
I guess the $58 question I have is it a smooth tuning knob our indented like the 330? Little things count.
Indent. Have a great day.

This radio is better than pl380? Thanks
More different than better.

Ué 310 ET ??
Single-side-band (SSB) really opens up another level of shortwave listening. If someone really gets into SWL, they are going to want SSB.
more or less a PL-330 with no SSB and USB-C
Lovely radio! No ssb? It's dead to me.
