  • A nut portion is created on the lower rack and receives motion from a motor via the grey screw.
    If the motor rotates regularly, the top desk moves up irregularly like the slider of a slider-crank mechanism.

    Thanks a lot for sharing! I was wondering why a motion like this never goes to full extension. Is this to prevent the arms from moving inward? And if so, could another solution be to add some material at outside of the hinges to prevent them from collapsing inward, like doors that only can rotate one direction? I hope my question is clear. It would be awesome if someone could help me!

    • @thang010146
      @thang010146  5 років тому +2

      Use a stopper to eliminate the rack motion to prevent the arms from moving inward.
      No collapse if the arms move inward for this mechanism because the worm-rack drive has self-locking feature (motion can not be transmitted from the rack to the worm)

    What if the bottom members were shorter, would it produce efficiency like leverage?

    • @thang010146
      @thang010146  4 роки тому +1

      Then the lifting displacement is shorter.

    • @NathanCoppedgeVideos
      @NathanCoppedgeVideos 4 роки тому +1

      @@thang010146 The efficiency could still be higher if created with a lever, due to the relative distances. Remember, altitude is at a premium.

    This is easier to understand. How it differs(mechanical advantage or accuracy ,control) from usual scissors lift mechanism which serves the same purposes.

      cháu dự định áp dụng cơ cấu này thay cho scissor khi đổ bê tông vòm hầm
      trong hầm chật chội không có xe cẩu hỗ trợ, ta xếp ván khuôn dưới thấp sau đó nâng lên đúng cao độ
      Khi đổ bê tông, cơ cấu scissor không chịu lực tốt vì các thanh không thể duỗi thẳng đứng như cơ cấu này

      The racks ensure that opposite yellow bars turn in opposite directions with the same velocity. Without them the upper plate can't be kept horizontal.

    Could have been greatly simplified by eliminating that purple triple-rack device, changing the two yellow gears to work with a worm screw, and then using a full-length worm screw shaft at an angle, such that the top of the left gear and the bottom of the right gear engage the worm screw shaft. You would just need more clearance underneath the right gear to accommodate the worm screw shaft. Eliminating that purple triple-rack would also eliminate a good bit of maintenance; it looks like a serious weak point in the maintenance lifecycle.

      Thank you for your good idea: using long shaft of two opposite hand worms. The latter directly engage with the two lower yellow gears. No need of the pink rack.
