100%! Everyone’s journey on the lap is different. Sometimes it’s hard to accept you won’t see everything you want to on your first lap but hey you can always go again!
That is an incredible presentation of your experience and amazing advice.!!! Well done, thank you. The journey you did was a mission in that vehicle. I have been to every state and territory in OZ and many parts in between but not enough of it. Good timing to watch as I am planning to do the "big lap" myself, on my own. I do have a 4WD dual cab ute vehicle....which im thinking is a good start. Was thinking of a roof top tent set up but hearing you both I may be better off with a camper trailer. Thanks for the tips. 👍👍👍👍
Hi Jonny, thank you for watching. We’re glad that it’s helping you plan your trip. I think you’ll have a much better time with a camper trailer. Even if it’s a small one. Just a base you can drop off at campsites and explore some of the more rugged tracks in your 4WD. You could even keep a swag onboard just in case you come across somewhere outstanding that you have to stay at!
@@cjexplores Huge thanks again mate....ive already been researching camper trailers as a result. "nice to have a house on wheels" and then explore. As you say, park it somewhere awesome and explore. My best wishes to both of you. Have subbed so looking forward to going through your back catalogue of posts. 👍👍
@@jonnythunder92hey Jonny! I’ve got a Mitsubishi Triton dual cab too. You just made me think I perhaps could use my car (I was thinking of buying a toyota trophy carrier..). Anyway, which car are you hitting the road with? :)
Thank you so much Phil! We’re glad you enjoying our trip/summary. We’re missing beautiful Australia. Hopefully we make it over to NZ in the near future
Thank you so much for your video, it was so honest. One of the bests so far! Question: do you think you would be more comfortable if you had a bigger car and a good hard top roof tent (that you can set up in 3 seconds)? Asking because I'm considering that setup. After watching your video I'll look to buy a decent fan as well haha
Hi Leticia 👋🏼 thanks for watching! We would definitely recommend doing it in a bigger vehicle if you can afford to do so. The hard top roof tents are also much quicker and easier to setup. The main reason we choose the inflatable tent was because it was less than half the weight of the others! But if we did this again we would choose a big van that we could stand up in and have an area we could sit inside and work in 😉
Thank you guys for sharing your experience. I have 2 questions as I'm planing a road trip for big lap. First, where can I do the laundry? (We are coming from outside Australia) Second, are you guys Australian and know how to drive on right side? Once again thank you for your wonderful videos❤
Hi! Thanks for watching ☺️ For laundry, we usually used the services at the campgrounds or we found laundromats in towns/cities. Every paid campground had a laundry room from memory. We are from the UK & New Zealand so driving on the left is normal for us!
Of course! The Great Ocean Road is one of the best! But even the drive from Sydney heading north is incredible and you could take a week to get to Brisbane quite easily. If you want to visit the west coast we hold dearly the South West. From Perth down to Margaret River region and on to Esperance
Thank you so much for your response but let me explain for you what I wanna do, I wanna drive everyday for 300-400 km that’s fine for me but I wanna finally get to Airlie beach because I also wanna visit white haven beach so I am not sure if I would drive to the other side or to Brisbane side directly I mean which one is better and I also worry because of the duration that could not be enough
Or do you think drive to the great ocean and cancel the white haven beach and Brisbane I mean would be more enjoyable than going to Airlie beach just to go to Whitehaven beach
If you just want to drive then maybe starting at the Great Ocean Road and heading around to Sydney and then further North. You could make it to Airlie Beach in a week I think. But it would be a lot of driving!!
You could probably drive it in a month but I’m not sure what the point would be as you would be driving for all of your waking hours 😂 better off flying to one beautiful place and exploring the local region 😁 or take one of the amazing train journeys across the country
With only a month available I would recommend that you go for quality of experience rather than quantity of distance covered. You are much better off focussing on a region and focus on that with only a month.
Great question, we heard about people who had them installed on caravans and it sounded like a great idea! Best people to ask would be Starlink themselves 😉
Accents! All over the place! I can hear Pom, Aus and Kiwi shifting in and out. Charlotte, nope, I've no idea. The occasional rising inflection at the end of a sentence is Aus, the rest, no idea. Essex? Or SW of London? I do think both accents have changed from the beginning. WA is more English, that's possible, there's almost no Queensland, thank goodness, and no-one wants anything to do with Sictoria, or their horrible accent.
🤣 your comment gave us both a good laugh Trevor! We are just as confused as you are. We both often get mistaken for Australian as well as British and very occasionally kiwis 🤣 Charlotte is from Cornwall, and I am from New Zealand 😉

What type of motorcycle would you do it on. Did you see many? Maybe road bike or adventure bike?
Definitely not a road bike… I’d do it on the Africa twin, or a Tenere 700 😉

I would have time from 21 February to 27 or 28
If you just want to drive then maybe starting at the Great Ocean Road and heading around to Sydney and then further North. You could make it to Airlie Beach in a week I think. But it would be a lot of driving!!
Was that weekly budget per person or for the two of you? Thanks so much for your video!
That was for the both of us! Sorry, we should have clarified 😅
Can I do the lap in one month? I don't get a long vacation spanning months.

Could you show more landscapes and then talk instead of showing yourself and talking I'd rather watch some interesting views and landscapes 😁😄
😅 thanks for the feedback Vitek 🙏🏼 we do have a whole playlist dedicated to our big lap of Australia if you wanted to see more of the footage we used!

Hahaha bit skewiff isn’t it? 😅
This video is ridiculous. Why drown yourselves out with stupid music?
How privileged and rich do you need to be to waste 7 months driving around the great big nothing?
We’re not rich. We lived off a budget and saved. We had very normal jobs in Aus.
