- On the latest episode of 888sport’s The Playlist, @RoryJenningsFootball, @AdeOladipo1 and Abbi Summers are joined by Robbie Lyle from @AFTVmedia and @drsportsmedia to rank 5 of the greatest imports in Premier League history.
The panel debate who had the biggest impact on English football out of Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah.
01:28 Top 5s revealed
02:35 Salah's impact on the PL
04:54 Did Drogba contribute more to the PL than Aguero?
05:55 Is Henry the undisputed No. 1?
07:40 Drogba's impact in finals
08:50 Was Henry a bad big-game player?
11:00 Do Liverpool fans prefer Suarez to Salah?
12:20 Let the viewers decide!
The panel discuss whether Thierry Henry was a big-game player and whether the fact he never won the Ballon d’Or or the Champions League with Arsenal should count against him. Ronaldo won the Champions League and Ballon d’Or at Manchester United, as well as a load of titles, but was his best football played at Real Madrid?
Sergio Aguero and Manchester City underperformed in the Champions League, but he did win loads of domestic trophies and was responsible for ‘Aguerooo!’, the most iconic moment in Premier League history.
Didier Drogba won everything there was to win at Chelsea, scored in pretty much every final he played in and delivered Chelsea’s first ever Champions League. And what about Mohamed Salah, who’s been prolific since joining Liverpool, as well as winning the Champions League and ending the club’s long title drought.
Who will top the list? Watch The Playlist to find out!

Who are your Top 5 Premier League imports? Let us know in the comments!
Ronaldo, Henry, Aguero, Salah, Drogba
Henry, Ronaldo, Aguero, Drogba, Salah
To be fair to Drogba, he did stop a civil War in Côte D'Ivoire.
Henry
ronaldo
aguero
drogba
salah
Henry, Aguero, Bergkamp, Drogba, Salah
Abbie list is correct
The disrespect Aguero gets is outrageous, Robbie and Abby were truly fair and were the reason Aguero went to the third spot.
number 1?
@@ThePlaylistFootball number one is definitely no doubt Henry
Aguero is the all time greatest foreign goal scorer, absolutely launched city to new heights and changed the PL. He can NOT be below 3rd.
I loved him as well but henry is Soo clear as number 1 he want just a goal scorer he was the full package! But I'd put SA 2nd for me
Henry is above aguero he just is
Aguero is more closer to Henry and Ronaldo interms of impact in the PL than Drogba and Salah is to Aguero.
What do you think it is that separates Aguero from those two?
Drogba single handeldly terrorized defences scored in Cup finals 😂😂😂😂 chill down
No hes not! How many times was aguero top scorer?
@@radef.6177 because he got injured every season
@@abhaychauhan8382 and aguero terrorized chelsea what’s your point
Henry inspired a generation
Aguero provided club defining moments, the highest scoring foreign player in PL history.
Salah is probably individually better, but he isn’t “greater”. He’s scored a lot of goals but they’ve ultimately not counted for as much as the other players on the list
Salah individually better. Big statement that...
@@ThePlaylistFootball probably better……
Not counted for much???? He's won every title available.....
@@Drizzle8481 but had won less titles
Ronaldo in 3 seasons achieved everything the rest of them did. Can't say the same thing about the rest.
1. Golden Boot from midfield - checked
2. EPL (3 in a row) - checked
3. Champions League (double) - checked
4. Scored in Finals/big games - checked
5. BALOND D'OR - checked
6. Entertained (dribbles, freekicks etc.) - checked
The fact that he did all this BEFORE his prime and in shorter time is a testament how ahead he was of the rest. No other player did all of the above in PL. Period.
He was also the youngest so we never got to see much of his prime like the rest on the list. Ronaldo is also the only one on the list with a balon d’Or and that only puts him at number 1. They can debate about the rest
He did not do a champions league double at united, what are you on about
@@jaredganesan1896 Winning the CL and EPL (in 08) in considered a double. (They lost the fa cup final so it couldn't be a treble). Remember i said double and not repeat or back to back. sorry about the confusion though.
Can't agree more.
As a liverpool fan the real list is:
1. Henry
2. CR7
3. Aguero
4. Salah
5. Drogba
Cantona surely above drogba
Ronaldo above henry
@@ElDragowyour silly, ronaldo had 3 good ish seasons and 1 that was actually word class, im a spurs fan and can admit henry had a much better time in england
This debate made me remember when Liverpool played Barcelona at home in the 2018/19 UCL season and Salah was injured, but he wore a cloth saying "NEVER GIVE UP".... .that mustard of support actually gave the boys hope!!😊❤️🔥
Robbie usually spot on & fair in these
Aguero is clear of salah if we are only talking about the premier league only
rory throwing an absolute strop this whole vid 😭
Aguero 5th is just so🤣🤣🤣
For me it’s Eric Cantona, how he wasn’t included I don’t know. But even as a Spurs supporter I’d have Thierry Henry as a very very close second, I really hated typing that last bit 🤢🤮
hahaha, I'm sure that's a common theme amongst most Spurs fans. King Eric is a good shout...
Every spursy fan is rattled cuz their vicious rivals best player is prem goat 🐐 say it don't be delusional
I'm here to make the case for Mo Salah above all else now, and for the future generations coming back to this video when he has the goals, trophies AND all the nostalgia vibes that the other players here do too. #EgyptianKing
They tried putting him 5th! Disgraceful!
The Don’s list is spot on
His original list, not the last minute change
1.) Henry
2.) Ronaldo
3.) Aguero
4.) Drogba
5.) Salah
Tbh, I would have chosen Suarez over Salah. Suarez is leagues better as a talent than Salah. I just find Salah a tad overrated as a footballer imo.
Aguero has the most prem goals as a foreign player.
Has the best moment in the prem history and the fact he was here for 10 years and was injured for half of them and still never lost form, if Aguero was injury free for all those years he would be the prem best of all time and that's facts.
Above Henry? That's bold.
Henry should’ve won the Balon d’Or but they had to give it to Nedved instead.
Racist
And that muppet was talking about R9....
He's too young to be commenting on footy from back then.
Are cup finals the only “big games”? Because Henry terrorised every team he came up against in the premier league including Utd Liverpool Chelsea 🤷♂️
Still never scored in a final in like 12+ games
@@dragonflame99k34 like I said, are finals the only big games? And it’s not like he didn’t get assists in finals either
Arsène!!...is that really you??🥺❤️
Denis Bergkamp without a doubt the best he started it all and improved UK players no end
Facts
No he didn't
Bergkamp was elite
Bergkamp was on another level
As a Chelsea Fan Rory and his Drogba is outrages
These rankings really show Robbie's football knowledge. Everytime, his lists are usually most accurate. He obviously put Drogba last for banter
What is this, drogba shouldn’t even be on this list, He was basically Chelsea’s origi 😂😂😂
Get in the bin
Great way to disprove a point 😂
@@Lucky-ll2cv your point is so stupid you make me think of a b'tech DT 😂
c'mon? You cannot be serious...
100 goals for Chelsea..
Don't think anyone can argue Henry tbf! Ronaldo & Aguero closely follow!
Yes flex 👊
Ronaldo balon d or 3 prem in a role and CL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ronaldo above Henry and it’s not close.
Aguero changed the mentality of the Man city football club and he was the chain reaction for the City dynasty Aguero is the one with most goals scored by a player overseas how can they not put him up there when terms of impact
Robbies is spot on
This narrative of Henry not being a big game player is such a lazy and manipulated point. Henry skinning Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, destroying Inter at the San Siro in the champions league aren't big games? Week in week out terrorizing the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and crucial goals against United, also THAT iconic Pl volley against United. He didn't bang in finals, but not a big game player is flat out stupid.
Bro Henry literally elevate the position he played
But he's a choker...
Abbi’s was spot on
Henry ronaldo drogba salah aguero
Henry, Salah, Aguero, Ronaldo and then Drogba for me. All greats, but based on what they’ve done in the PL I think this top 3 holds practically every single attacking record
Salah 2nd 🤣🤣🤣 and Ronaldo 4th ?
@@favazmuhammadazeez2424 based on what they’ve done in the PL yeah
@@MartinKul100 based on PL - Ronaldo won 3 league titles ( hat-trick in 3 years that he has played) 2 league cups, 1 fa cup, 1 golden Boot and European golden Boot in the same season. Last PL player to have won a ballon dor.
Only thing salah has won more than ronaldo is the PL golden Boot which he has won 3 times and ronaldo 1.
So how ronaldo 4th and salah 2nd 🤣🤣🤣🤣?
@@favazmuhammadazeez2424 because he has been better than Ronaldo in the PL
@@MartinKul100 did you watch Ronaldo in the prem the first time around? Just look at salahs last 6 months....I like Salah but he has not contributed more than Ronaldo in the premier league.
Salah change Liverpool right when he arrived. Three 90 points finishes three champions league finals and the PL goals record for a season. Doesn’t get more significant than that. Salah already had more PL goals than Drogba. Salah is a big game player scores against city and United all the time. Assist as well. Let’s not forget Salah would have had his Aguero moment if Villa knew had to defend
Swol Campbell loves taking about the past doesn’t he 😂
Henry
Ronaldo
Aguero
Drogba
Salah
The *true* top 5 is:
1. Henry
2. Cantona
3. Aguero
4. Ronaldo
5. Drogba
I'll throw this name out there...Juninho. I think it's a travesty he never gets mentioned regarding foreign exports. The impact he had not just on Middlesbrough FC, but on the city as a whole, can't be understated...so much so he had THREE spells with the club, helped them win their first piece of silverware in God knows how long, and to this day is still given a hero's welcome in the city....
Salah is still writing his story, we can’t fully judge him yet! Henry, Ronaldo, Agüero, Drogba and then Salah (currently). May change when Salah has retired though!
Utd fan and I've gotta say
Henry
Ronaldo
Aguero
Drogba
Salah
Technically Salah's first season in the premier league was with Chelsea
That's a fair point. But this list is not based on their immediate impact. More on their overall time in the PL.
@@ThePlaylistFootball That’s why putting Salah over anyone is a disgrace. He flopped at Chelsea
@@Foos3yOW he wasn't used in Chelsea you knob
Henry
Ronaldo
Aguero
Drogba
Salah but Salah will pass Drogba n Aguero in no time
Hold up… so Rory does the intro spell about culture and what it meant for the league and the club…. And there is no Cantona nominated? Seriously? This is laughable
I also realise it’s just a nominated 5 but still lol.
Ronaldo
Henry
Aguero
Drogba
Salah
How many times did Drogba score 20 league goals in a season? Twice in 8 seasons. 5th all day long.
I must have missed out on them pointing out that
1. Drogba redefined the lone striker role.
2. Every team that played direct football ( or honestly speaking lumping out - long ball football) would demand hold up play like...Drogba.
3. Name me one striker who made more gaps for "off the balls" runs for their wingers or space for their cut- back crosses than Drogba.
4. Did they say cultural impact !! because that is just a whole new chapter.the man stopped a civil war.
On an outside note I also missed them mentioning Cantona
My top 5 Henry, Aguero, Ronaldo, Drogba & Salah
How is Cantona not even up for debate? Won the PL in his every full season. The catalyst for MUFC era!
Henry
aguero
Ronaldo
Drogba
Salah
Henry, Aguero, Ronaldo, Bergkamp, Cantona
Cantona for me always- the true king
Salah HAS TO BE 4th at the very least! What he’s achieved and how important he is to this Liverpool team, the impact he’s had, he’s got more goal contributions to top 6 sides than anyone! Drogba 5th end of.
Henry, Ronaldo, Salah with bias aha, Aguero, Drogba. But yeah they're all great players regardless of record and whether they did better elsewhere in Ronaldo. Drogba incredible in finals, that header vs Bayern even as LFC fan is etched into my memory as a football fan. Aguero huge PL moment, Salah has had some great moments, Henry is king of the PL. Can't really split any of them aside from Aguero not winning the Champions. League
Ronaldo had tarnished his PL legacy since rejoining. Henry and Salah have more legacy in the prem than him imo
Last PREM player to win the ballondor..
3 league titles in a row
1 champions league
1 FA cup
2 League Cups
1 Ballon D'or
in what world is Salah or Henry's legacy better than that?
@@no9scrum longevity... invincible...
I think that's a tad harsh. I think we all know he's past his best. It shouldn't tarnish his legacy.
@@ThePlaylistFootball i get what you’re saying but what Salah has done in 5 season is absolutely insane and for people to put him last is outrageous imo. Henry is clear at first 100%
Bergkamp has to be up there
Can we please start including 1 Spurs Player evety week Son Kilnsmann Modric all honourable mentions
6:20 “they don’t give them like that” “ R9 was in front of him” finished second Nedved despite scoring 30 and assisting 25
3:31 actually Roman brought it but that’s another convo
I'm suprised makelele isn't in. He changed the landscape of football with regards to defensive midfield. Not rating the best players...but impact on game
Actually Aguero had a bigger impact in his first season. Won the prem so...with that goal so
As good as drogba was he never scored more then 15 premier league goals in a season probably the best big game player but overall he’s defo 4/5th on this list
2009-10 season he had 29 PL goals and 37 overall but whatever helps you sleep better 👍👍
@@willdangerfield5292 he had one season over 20 in probably the least competitive and worst premier league 09-10 season was terrible. he played 254 games for Chelsea in the premier league and scored 104 in probably the best Chelsea team over a period of time ever if it helps u sleep no one doubts his big game ability but he ain’t all that
How is drogba ever above aguero?
@@JC-uh7lt He won the Golden Boot in 2006/2007 as well with 20 goals.
@@calvinhicks1992 and how many times did he win the golden boot trophy compared to these players? Enough said.
It's definitely va voom 🙌
henry
ronaldo
aguero
drogba
salah
i’m a liverpool fan henry is one of the greatest i’ve ever seen in the prem and salah doesn’t have enough great moments but that might be nostalgia
Robbie is a W
1. Henry
2. Aguero
3. Drogba
4. Salah
5. Ronaldo
Henry, Aguero, Ronaldo, Salah, Drogba
Robbie's list is probably the better looking one out of all of em
Aguero has the biggest PL moment of all time
Salah and mane took turns breaking droba record don't disrespect them like that nostalgia merchant
Son should get an honourable mention I reckon.
I would have Hazard and De Bruyne instead of Salah and Drogba
Drogba was a black man with permed straight hair and we never questioned it …. That’s top worthy alone
Cantona is number 1. Facts.
Even kevin de bruyne deserves to be on here, probably above salah
The fact Vieira isn’t on even one of these lists proves none of them knows ball
No David silva? Really, why are they all strikers too?
1 Ronaldo
2 Henry
3 Aguero
4 Drogba
5 Salah
1.Henry
2.Drogba
3.arguero
4.Ronaldo
5.Salah
I love Rory's sole argument for Drogba is big game player because there is a Liverpool player that gets constantly compared to Lampard. The Liverpool player is by far a better big game player.
1. CR7
2. Henry
3. Drogba
4. Aguero
5. Salah
Cristiano Ronaldo not only won 3 league titles in a row (unlike the others on the list) he also won The FA Cup, League Cup, World Club Cup AND Champions League. To top it all off he's the only one to win the Ballon d'Or.
Easiest number 1 to be handed out.
Finally someone with a footballing brain. Ronaldo is the goat, easiest top 1 ever. Made the prem his playground. No other player in history could have done what he did at United.
1. Henry
2. Aguero
3. Drogba
4. Salah
5. Ronaldo
*Only have Ronaldo last because I don't associated his legacy with the Premier League, I more associate it with La Liga.
Hahahahahha rory baffled
1. Ronaldo
2. Aguero
3. Drogba
4. Henry
5. Mo Salah
The reason why Henry is 4th is because I have not seen him play but I have heard a lot of good things about him
Understandable, seeing as you didn't get to see him in action...trust me, if you had you'd put him top....
Should have went from 2-5
Because number 1 couldn't be argued
1. King Henry
2. Aguero
3. Ronaldo
4. Drogba
5. Salah
Henry is sooooo clear of the rest is a no contest
Nah ronaldo and Henry are the ones ones who are so cleared of other tho henry is number 1

5 Salah (it hurts)
Salah didn’t turn up finals, just like Henry then Robbie?
Might be controversial but Henry, Aguero, Ronaldo, Salah, Drogba and because of time in the league and outrageous consistency with goals, Salah could be 3rd
They forget Salah played for Chelsea
ROBBIES list is faxx
Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the greatest player to have ever played in the Premier League considering the amazing career he's had plus his ongoing debate between himself and Messi for the best part of 15 years. Thierry Henry is arguably the greatest striker in Premier League history but Erling Haaland is a serious threat to Henry's supremacy considering his unique goals to games ratio. Kevin De Bruyne deserves to be in the Top 5 foreign players in Premier League history because he's arguably the best attacking midfielder in the world right now and has the silverware to back it up.
Cantina? Does he break into these 5?
Rory is absolutely ridiculous 🤣
The only correct answer is
1. Henry
2. Aguero
3. Ronaldo
4. Salah
5. Drogba
There is only one king
King Eric 👑
1.Henry
2.Drogba
3.Areduio
4.CR7
5.Salah
Drogba over Salalh. Even as a Liverpool fan it's clear that winning the UCL with a team that poor looking on paper is monumental, something Salah has and probably will never come close to. That final alone puts him above Salah
Stop limiting their choices of players! just give them the question and let them decide who their top 5 are and rank them!!
If someone said that Kompany or Schmeichel should be on the list of top 5 they should be able state their case, doesn't mean they're right but it would be more entertaining than Rory just pulling 5 names out a hat every week
Thanks for your feedback, we'll take it on board..
Salah has broken all the records these guys had set previous to his arrival. Hes got the trophies three golden boots and he would have won a balon dor if it weren't a farse. Salah top two for me no questions asked
Tim Cahill
Kane is the top goalscorer for one club
I normally like Rory believe it or not , however him saying ronaldo needs to change to drogba is utter stupidity… I cannot believe what I’m hearing.
