Megavalanche EBIKE 2022 - FROM 99 TO TOP 10

- Here's my first Megavalanche ever at Huez Alp.
Had a bad qualification run due of an mechanical problem so I had to start at the end of my category.
We can hear ''Finished 11'' at the end of the race but they found that someone in the top 10 cheated with an unlocked ebike. So I dropped 10.
Considering that it's my first Mega, I'm really happy of my result and how I managed myself the entire race.
It's definitely not my last Mega, I will work harder on my cardio and legs for maybe a top 5 next year!
I'm actually riding a Husqvarna Hardcross 7 2021 with a EP8 motor for those who wondering.
Enjoy the video! :)
Atletas de outro planeta. Sensacional estão todos de parabéns!!!!!!
Sustainability is the best goal, and performance-wise.
Well, for this year, I'm working really hard on my endurance to push harder went it comes to pedal in the climb.
The key is to take the right lane, be fast enough and don't snap anything on the bike. ✌️😀
Incroyable descente 💪🏻🤘🏻
KUDOS, dude...NICE
Guy in blue at 0:58 had his seat post up!!!!!
this is no way as impressive as seeing kilian go down it lol but good job no the less
Ya but I'm not Killian also 😂
Even pretty good racers can't compare to guys making a living from it
@@MrEtienne6657 exactly, I'll do my best but those guys are so fast it's incredible
@@seb.charpentier Si jamais tu cherches un roomate pour 2023 je suis chaud pour la refaire. Objectif moins d'une heure pour moi... Avec de moins en moins de neige ça va être plus faisable !
I wonder why the bike has no mudguard! A plastic one does a great job and is feather weight. Instead all the bikers have their asses full of dirt and water!!! Very brilliant!
How much did it cost to attend the Megavalanche? Planning on doing it in 2024.
Well it depend on a lot of things, let me explain.
If you planning going to the Mega with some friends you can easily save on hotel et transportation like splitting the bills on gas, rooms at the hotel and the rent of the vehicle!
For me, I was with only one friend and after splitting all the bills, it's cost me like 4k but we stayed 2 weeks at the mountain. We arrived a little more earlier of the event to practice a little more and discover more trails! It was the best experience of my life and I will comeback next year to attempt the top 5 🤘😁
@@seb.charpentier Thanks man. I look forward to seeing your race video next year with you hitting top 5.
@@rafaelgomez7094 Thanks man really appreciate! This summer was my first Mega, I had a bad qualification because my back wheel exploded on a rock slab I finished 99 on 125 riders. Unfortunately I was not on the first line for the race the next day.
Next year I'll try to race properly on qualif to not have a mechanical problem and after that starting on the first line will definitely a game changer for the final result! ✌️
@@seb.charpentier Did it three times in the ebike category in 2017/2018/2019. Can't recommend enough to get earlier to get acustomed to altitude, to get a good knowledge of the track and to take the qualifying race on the cautious side. Front row or third doesn't do much you can't change on the two first steep parts of the Pic Blanc.
Belle course!!
Merci beaucoup!
This makes me super curious....is there a rule on how much you can use the electric motor vs pedaling? I was thinking why not just use the motor for any sections you would pedal.
Well, there's actually a ebike class and all can use the motor as they wishes. For exemple, I was on the turbo mode for the entire race!
If you check on the web site of the Mega in the ebike race, there's all the rules about the motors and how the race works. It's pretty the same thing as muscular but your ebike cannot assist over 25 kph
I was thinking save the battery for the hills.
@@seb.charpentierhow do they test if the ebike assists above 25kmph? I think people will manipulate it
@@djleg3ndCore Top 10 only!! But if you have the evidence on video/gopro or something like that, you can talk to the race managers and they can check the bike in question. There's always people cheating ...
@@seb.charpentier allright thank you
how many kilometers traveled for average race ? and do you recommend hard tails or full suspension ,,im a total noob and 56 but this is inspiring
Well the full race is like 21-22km, I truly recommend a full suspension bike because theres a lot of gnarly spots specially is the first 20min of race.
I see a lot of people in the amateur and challenger class with hardtails, its not impossible to do but less comfortable than a full suspension for sure. At the end, everyone have their own pace to do the race.
Cheers! ✌
@@seb.charpentier awesome mate cheers for reply
@@thecelt4807 Np 👌😉
Are these all E-bikes?
In this race, yes!
@@seb.charpentier you could put me on a motorcycle and I’d still lose
