got some pretty noice stabbus, also GGs to you the host and a million blues. Red text with a small font is hella hard to read man, wanna go with some internet safe fonts, thicc and bold. swamp romps are always a fun watch though.
Ye, I really shit the bed with that font color fml. And man, after talking shit about low-level invading all this time, I now had to realize that it is probably the most fun you can have in this game. I always just assumed twinking in DkS 3 is similar to how it was in DkS 1 and 2, just stomping on noobs, and thus avoided it. What a massive mistake that was. Swamp is such a great area to fight in, and the low dmg output means longer fights with much more to take away from. I've barely touched my SL 90 and 120 in weeks.
Wow, actually someone who acts with intelligence and reason. This video was way more enjoyable than the ones from another game play delivering YTer I don't want to give credit here. I was about to check out your channel for more videos like this haha. You really made my day with this one. Great production, smart yet humorous comments. I really hope to see more videos like this and I'm not just saying it like that. Respect for your effort!!
Nyff is legit an important part of this community. If you like him check out St1ckyBandit, Saint Riot, IamAmish, Rhevion, Project Goof. None of them do the gimmicky, bullshit, troll, hatemail content.
Hahahah well done buddy I really enjoyed the video, the immersion was strong, it feels like I was behind the controller ; maybe the "no voice style" is involved too (when i have to focus, most of the time i remain silent) I hope to see more stuff like this, keep it up :)
I have both the intro and running away trademarked, how do I get this video taken down? EDIT: And just in defence of the purple, Vordt's hammer is extremely powerful at lower levels. In my encounters with it at SL30 (with 27 Vigor), 2 hits is a guaranteed freeze proc and does 80-85% of my health.
Great, now I have Adam Barker and you on my ass. That's two copyright strikes in one go. Brb, gonna tell my wife we're gonna have to move under a bridge now. :(
Re. your edit: true, Vordt's is nasty at that SL, but there's still no reason to die in one hit or combo. I'm just so utterly sick of other invaders constantly dying around me like flies and giving the host even more Estus. I'd actually prefer if they just stood back tbh. But then they don't learn anything ofc. Then again, they don't either if they FUCKING DIE IN ONE HIT/COMBO FFS LEVEL VIGOR AND DON'T DIE TO SINGLE BLUES!!!
lol i dont think small youtubers should be trying to ruin each others channels. assuming this is a serious comment, surely you both can work something out with the copyright issues. like, its a pretty basic, easily made intro. Its not the end of the world.
TempoTrack I thought the sarcasm in both of our comments was obvious. St1cky and I have been friends ever since DkS 2. There is nothing serious about our mutual teasing.
This was really interesting to see, normally im on the invaded side so I had never considered the thinking process of an invader, specially how they cope with stacked odds against them. I would like to see more videos like this, wether they be narrated or written. (text is easier for me personally since english is my second language, but do what you like)
I guess it depends on how you define "spammer". I agree that he was going for parries in situations where Nyff could have attacked, but at a certain point, when you've whiffed 10 in a row, you need to give that shit a rest. I think the real problem here is that parry spamming is a viable strat at low level.
I always enjoy your commentary videos, but for purely informative ones like this text is king. Also gets my nostalgia boner going for back in our DS2 days Kreygasm.
You reminds me alot like saint riot. You both are smart with invasions and you both have good editing without anything extra like compilation music. You earned my sub buddy!
Kicks and backstabs work really well against parry spammers. Also, if you space a halberd just right it's unparriable. Then of course you have your unparriable weapon arts. Those come in handy, but I don't usually rely on them because FP.
Parry spammers can be difficult, especially a host, slightly laggy, the lag makes him impervious to backstabs, and him being the host means he has the health and estus to afford missing 100 parries. Then at his 101'th attempt he lands the parry and one-shots you.
And then points down and generally walks away from the fight fully believing he's better at the game than you, even if his ONLY landed attack was the riposte, and you'd got him critical a dozen times over.
Nice! Very cool to see exactly what you thought at the moments of the invasion. Great insights! It's easier to suck in the experience this way in my opinion.
This is an old video but ye ole youtube decided to throw it my way. Hot damn was it a good watch. It's joined my favorite dark souls videos and the only other entrant there is Color Bars' ds3 parry guide (which is a similar thoughtcloud walkthrough type commentary video). I personally have a lot of trouble with this type of cheesy ass playstyle. Better players are more coordinated and I'm too impatient so this was an incredible journey start to finish. Bravo m8 this is an instant-sub for me
I like the format, but please switch the font and color. The problem with this format is that you need to give short descriptions because otherwise viewers would stop the video every now and then, which i believe to be unfun way to watch. Great showcase of "how-to-deal-with" i'd love to see more common scanerios in invasions broken down.
I came into this video expecting something completely different but I was entertained nonetheless. I really enjoyed this video, keep up the good work, and congrats on the kill
Really enjoyed this video, I know some people like the little clips and shorter vids but more videos like these where you show how you handle the invasion in its entirety and how you adapted to the situation as it changes would be greatly appreciated.
Good to know, and I agree, I also like seeing whole invasions most. Those moments in between, when there is no super fancy backstabbing or parry action going on, are often just as crucial to the overall success.
Hey, this is the first time I've seen one of your videos, but I highly enjoyed it. Based on your gameplay and notes throughout the video, you're definitely experienced, and you really know what you're doing. It's nice to see a DS3 PvP video that has no cuts in it either, for maximum experience. This video gave me Adam Barker(who is my Dark Souls God) vibes, so I think I'll see what else you have to offer. Great video.
them maymay edits are lovely. I'd like to believe the host was genuinely just learning to parry your charged r2, this was his genuine practice goal for the hosting session. Nice stabbies and a satisfying ending with that parry. I personally prefer voiced commentary, easier to pay attention to gameplay.
Ye, this experiment didn't really go all that well. It took a lot of time and effort, and I myself am not really happy with the outcome, and a lot of people feel the same. I will most likely return to voice commentary from now on. And I would agree on him trying to learn if he a) wasn't behaving the way he did and b) had shown any degree of effort to actually improve. Like I said, it just seemed to me like he did the same bullshit he probably saw on some YT videos over and over again. That said, he was hosting blues, and as you know, I will never give blue enablers any credit whatsoever. Present company excluded. Maybe. :)
I enable blues when I'm not invading cause I want to give the guys something to do. If we never do it the covenant dies. I'm not interested in that. I actually like the idea behind blues.
I’m experimenting with different formats atm. Is this something you’d be interested to see more? It would of course not replace voiced commentary, just supplement it. Edit: Seems like red font color was a massive mistake. Message received, not gonna do that ever again.
Yes, this is super interesting, to see what's going through your head (besides the hailstorm of straight swords that is PvP in DS3) at any given moment. Don't you just fookin' love infinite roll mode?? p.s.: is that Barneezy saying "What's for breakfast?"?
If there's one thing I've found out recently, it's that greatsword class weapons are FUCKING AMAZING when you're being chased down by aggressive gankers.
I rarely invade at SL 120 these days since you don't ever seem to find anyone outside of Ringed City. Even SL 90 is becoming more difficult to find activity at. Low levels (SL 30 +3 and SL 60 +7) meanwhile are fucking sprawling with life, probably because of all the sales lately.
Like the new format, I can concentrate more on what's going on in the fight. But i do miss you nice voice, fun to listen to, nice to hear, plus it's easier to tell what's going on in your mind when you state it instead of putting it out on letters
everytime i see a guy with a cestus, i'm like "oh no" but then i remember that i live by the great club lifestyle of greatness and ultimate superiority and laugh as i remove their ankle braces and they fall into the sun
The most hilarious thing is going in w/ straight sword to a parry spammer, mess around for a little bit to condition them, then just whip out the offhand astora GS and watch them try to parry as you mash them to bits...
that guy was actually quite good from what i could see. he seemed to know how to be aggressive, roll catch, he just doesn't know how to parry without baiting.
I think I just got sexually aroused by that put down.... GG Nyff! I loved how you were able to read every single one of his baits like they were written on his face, whenever I fight griefers like this I end up getting fatigued during a prolonged fight until my play becomes sloppy until I eventually get my ass parried.
Oh, I know exactly how that goes. There's a reason I picked this fight for this video and not the dozens of other invasions where I stumbled into some of the dumbest traps. Feels so bad when you fall for an obvious bait. Then again, in invasions, you don't always have the luxury of thinking twice before acting...
I'm new to your videos but I feel no commentary works to better convey the tension of invasions. Too many others use mostly highlights and that can paint a false picture of how thorough you have to be to succeed. Keep up the good work.
ich habe dich nicht erst seit gestern abonniert... aber hab' ebend erst gecheckt das du deutsch bist. :D schön das ger auch einen vertreter hat welcher qualitätscontent hochlädt! weiter so! :) fast vergessen: GG!

Then at his 101'th attempt he lands the parry and one-shots you. Very nice vid, you didn't just display how to deal with parry spammers, you also showed how to deal with ganks.
I've never really played pvp so this is very informative. I'd like to see more stuff like this. I didn't even know all these ways to bait Had names for them.
Nice vid, man. I have some trouble when they're parry spammers while agressive at the same time. When they just parry spammers, I usually dead angle them with my morning star. It's fairly easy to do and they get confused as hell.
Definitely deserved that poop. I like how you toyed with him, because you could have easily punished his parry spam with backstabs and finished him. Sometimes it's more fun to slowly humiliate someone like that when they're using such stupid tactics. Great video, and I like the format.
Switch to a weapon with unparriable attacks. Encountered a parry spammer while using Lucerne so I spammed the weapon art, since the first swing is unparriable.
Just one editing tip, if you wanna incorporate red into the onscreen text, use it as an outline. Trying to read this text as it is is a real strain on the eyes, because its lacking contrast. Safest bet is to have white font, and then just change the outline to what color you prefer, to contrast it from the background. THIS doesn't really work very well Secondly, narrated thought works better with a voiceover, like good 'ol Metalord Jund did, so the watcher can concentrate on the fight, instead of trying to decipher the subtitle text WHILE the fight is going on in the back.
Cool vid, man! It´s very cool to see you experimenting with other formats! I like the thoughtclouds videos, always have!(I use them in the invasion analysis series)! However I think they work really well with music and not just the gameplay sound (but it might be personal taste). If you can link the music to the action, even better! Also, the subtitles were, at some times, a bit difficult to read. Maybe a fuller font, or use bold idk.... The invasion itself was a great one and a reminder that the game is really unbalanced at lower levels (IMO, ofc). People like to say that they can invade all twinked out at low SL´s forgetting that a twinked out host with an average knowledge of the game at these SL is almost unkillable by a non twink invader and even for those, they have to outplay the hell out of them, like you did. The thing is: At higher SL´s they can do a lot of damage to you, true. But you sure as hell can also do a lot of damage to them!
Yeah, if I continue doing content like this, I will have to refine it for sure. Thanks for the input, I will take it to heart! Not sure if there is any point in making more vids like that though. My post got removed from the DkS 3 subreddit for "witch hunting" (lol), and without Reddit, videos by small uploaders like me have issues gaining enough attention.
That subreddit is such a shitshow (visions of Scott Jund´s Greatlance drama)...How on earth was that witch hunting?!? Unfucking believable...I up-voted the post anyway...Yeah, I very rarely post on reddit nowadays...I know I will get less views but for me it is not worth the hassle...
Jeez, that was so satisfying to watch that guy finally die in the end. GG
and then promptly get pooped on
"Whats for breakfast?"
"Their salty tears is for breakfast"
got some pretty noice stabbus, also GGs to you the host and a million blues.

Project Goof use an UGS
White with black outline is always readable 100% of the time. Or Black with white outline, but I prefer white with black outline.
Thank you Dark Souls Jesus for not letting there be any hatemail in a video I respect.
Wow, actually someone who acts with intelligence and reason.

Hahahah well done buddy

Didn’t look so much like a parry spammer but a guy that knew a lot of the situations that make a prediction parry possible. Good video!
I guess it depends on how you define "spammer". I agree that he was going for parries in situations where Nyff could have attacked, but at a certain point, when you've whiffed 10 in a row, you need to give that shit a rest. Good invasion, my guy!
I liked seeing your thought progression during, as well.
Very informative!

*R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1*
You are actually one of the best youtubers ive ever seen.Great content man!
Absolutely brilliant breakdown of play and epic win. Loved it.
I always enjoy your commentary videos, but for purely informative ones like this text is king.
Also gets my nostalgia boner going for back in our DS2 days Kreygasm.
Parry king. I‘ve never seen someone parrying people left and right this good. I‘m impressed
You’re really tactical when you play Dark Souls. I could learn a thing or two from your videos. Keep it up!
You reminds me alot like saint riot. You both are smart with invasions and you both have good editing without anything extra like compilation music. You earned my sub buddy!
I have the most trouble with parry spammers and seeing this video give me the BIG pp

The Darkness Ikr lmao.
Im a year too late But try the scimitar this weapon is a beast against parry spammers
Nice! Very cool to see exactly what you thought at the moments of the invasion. Great insights! It's easier to suck in the experience this way in my opinion.

Oh, the suspense! Never in my life was the parry sound so cathartic!
I came into this video expecting something completely different but I was entertained nonetheless. I really enjoyed this video, keep up the good work, and congrats on the kill
How to handle a parry spammer: bore him with a 10 minute invasion
Really enjoyed this video, I know some people like the little clips and shorter vids but more videos like these where you show how you handle the invasion in its entirety and how you adapted to the situation as it changes would be greatly appreciated.
Good to know, and I agree, I also like seeing whole invasions most. Those moments in between, when there is no super fancy backstabbing or parry action going on, are often just as crucial to the overall success.
That was tense! Justified dung at the end. Well played man! Liked the text format, especially the diff colors for red, blue etc..

still great running into tubers who know how to play this game. sub'd, looking forward to various invasions and souls content!

I like to act as a Blue Sentinel for the SOLE purpose of giving invaders Estus or to shields up locking Host in a room/corridor with red
This brought back my PTSD from DS3 invasions
Beautiful video, I am learning a lot. Thank you for the text overlays!
I’m experimenting with different formats atm. Is this something you’d be interested to see more? It would of course not replace voiced commentary, just supplement it.

Don't you just fookin' love infinite roll mode??
p.s.: is that Barneezy saying "What's for breakfast?"?
Yup, i like it 👍
Nyff I prefer voiced commentary. Especially in cases when it doubles as a podcast to listen to while driving
*Very good*
Bright yellow might be easier to see
that was beautiful, was smiling all through out the video.
Holy shit, Make Them Suffer is one of my favorite bands. The intro definitely got my attention, let alone awesome gameplay.
And you threw poop on his corpse? He’s pissing his pants in anger
Watching the guy lose was amazing. Parry into breakfast and a clap.
If there's one thing I've found out recently, it's that greatsword class weapons are FUCKING AMAZING when you're being chased down by aggressive gankers.
Givin him a taste of his own medicine. Gg, no hate mail??
I checked my profile immediately after, alas, no hatemail. :( I was surprised at that.
Probably broke his controller lol
You should had mailed him: That's how you parry properly! lol
I like to picture the words on the bottom of the screen as his characters thought like the item descriptions
"Tries the oldest baits in the book" - tries barker's bomb on him
And so, Nyff goes deeper into twinking abyss...
Do you even sl125 this days braugh?
I rarely invade at SL 120 these days since you don't ever seem to find anyone outside of Ringed City. Even SL 90 is becoming more difficult to find activity at. Low levels (SL 30 +3 and SL 60 +7) meanwhile are fucking sprawling with life, probably because of all the sales lately.
It's weird for me hearing dark souls videos without hearing "I'm the bomb and I'm about to blow up" all the fucking time
If I miss consecutive parrys, I feel embarrassed and usually won't try a third.
Never felt so satisfied in my life.
Like the new format, I can concentrate more on what's going on in the fight. But i do miss you nice voice, fun to listen to, nice to hear, plus it's easier to tell what's going on in your mind when you state it instead of putting it out on letters
everytime i see a guy with a cestus, i'm like "oh no"
but then i remember that i live by the great club lifestyle of greatness and ultimate superiority and laugh as i remove their ankle braces and they fall into the sun
This boys and girls is what we call a try hard. Very satisfying to watch you get that parry and kill🙌🏼🙌🏼
You mean no text commentary, or no commentary at all (incl. voiced)?
Nyff Text commentary is fine, so is regular commentary, just giving you my opinion.
This is pretty much me and 90% of my invasions with the same tactics good video dude
That was intense dude
Also. I like your commentary
This, this right here, is probably the only reason I miss DKS1 backstabs.
Damn man this was so satisfied to watch
More vids like this please!
man I was hoping he was going to send a salty message
And he just stands there and takes the charged R2s instead of rolling out of the way... >_>
The fucking st1ckyband1t intro at the beginning almost went over my head xD
Parry spammers can be difficult, especially a host, slightly laggy, the lag makes him impervious to backstabs, and him being the host means he has the health and estus to afford missing 100 parries. Then at his 101'th attempt he lands the parry and one-shots you. Very nice vid, you didn't just display how to deal with parry spammers, you also showed how to deal with ganks.
I've never really played pvp so this is very informative. I'd like to see more stuff like this. I didn't even know all these ways to bait Had names for them.
I gotta say, I'm Protanopic (red-blind) and that has to be the single hardest text to read I've ever seen.
Weird.
I was sure that he was going to disconnect in the end
Nice vid, man. I have some trouble when they're parry spammers while agressive at the same time. When they just parry spammers, I usually dead angle them with my morning star. It's fairly easy to do and they get confused as hell.
Incredible invasion my guy
I like how you are very strategic while I take out my ringed knight dual greatswords and press l1 l1 r1 r1
Bless the soul of that blue at 6:45, he did his best!
Someone likes Make them Suffer, knew that intro immediately.
Kind of amazing that the host didn't pull the plug
that guy parried like 60 times
Speechless. Watched with bated breath. Poetry.
Definitely deserved that poop. I like how you toyed with him, because you could have easily punished his parry spam with backstabs and finished him. Sometimes it's more fun to slowly humiliate someone like that when they're using such stupid tactics. Great video, and I like the format.
Awesome video and amazing victory
Wow nice invasion!!! Awesome finish
GG
I liked 7 seconds in because of the Sticky reference. Made me giggle. Now imma watch the actual vid XD
I really like your minimalist thumbs
lets not forget how many times you failed to parry
Shit, that was tense, i'm actually sweat, great job
Great analysis video nyff i like the style alot! I may even try my hand at one of these videos myself:D (btw its the bs fisher from steam)
Thanks, dude! And do that, I would definitely be interested in that.
Damn man i just discovered your channel and you play alot like me
Subbed :)
I eat roll catches for breakfast everyday! Eat good, feel good. Thanks for the good food!
Well host deserve some credit. He was pretty good! he actually took down the other phantoms in front of your face.
Your thumbnails are aesthetic af.
Excellent. I was hoping for some hate mail from him after all that though.
Why you should always have a greathammer or ultra greatsword on hand to deal with parry kings
Switch to a weapon with unparriable attacks. Encountered a parry spammer while using Lucerne so I spammed the weapon art, since the first swing is unparriable.
Who is this St1ckyB4andit guy and why do I get the impression he's a bit of a spoon??
How dare you!
*How to deal with a "parry king"*
*Step 1* : *UGS*
Beautifully executed.
I absolutely love the format. But maybe a different colour for the text? It was quite hard to read at times.
Another option? Non-parryable weapons.
Two-hand a Ultra Greatsword OR wield a whip.
Just one editing tip, if you wanna incorporate red into the onscreen text, use it as an outline. Trying to read this text as it is is a real strain on the eyes, because its lacking contrast.
Safest bet is to have white font, and then just change the outline to what color you prefer, to contrast it from the background.
THIS doesn't really work very well
Secondly, narrated thought works better with a voiceover, like good 'ol Metalord Jund did, so the watcher can concentrate on the fight, instead of trying to decipher the subtitle text WHILE the fight is going on in the back.
Sad
that I didnt find this channel before
Nice Make them suffer - widower tease in the intro :3
Kicks and backstabs there you go.
its like he watched a single fighter pl video and now he'll parry the air that dares to lightly breeze his edgy weeb hair
*BACKSTABBBUUUUUUU* or just be unpredictable af
there is just something about 8:32 that is just so, beautiful
Is your intro song from Make Them Suffer. I love that band
I'm sure that was Red_Eye - he banned me for 3 days because I posted *somebody else's video* on...how to get people to not send hatemail.
iamamish Yeah, that guy sure has a good reputation...
