Build a couple hybridy items as in like glad, warriors, archdruids, or whatever depending on your God. This update makes tanks able to kill people faster as well. Play both sides.
😂😂😂 You actually get punished now for being out of place. For 10 years the game was fine then they catered to people like you. It's looking great already
I did played before, and even if I can say that sometimes u needed to hug your tower because there was gods and roles very abusive in early game and was kinda frustrating at its worst at its best is the must fun I've had in smite
It’s a double edge sword, you will die easier early game but you will also clear faster with your abilities and peel with the amount of damage you can do to the enemy adc/jungle. There is a lot more outplay/bait potential with certain matchups and positioning
i actually preferred the 9.5 changes, yeah it was harder to get kills esp early game but when you did it felt more rewarding imo because it meant you actually earned it instead of catching someone off guard and blowing them up before they can react, like winning a BR duel in Halo 3 vs getting a kill in CoD because you saw someone first and clicked on them for a quarter of a second. but i definitely see why people didn't like it and the revert certainly doesn't ruin the game for me like 9.5 did for some people, i played for 6 years before that and still enjoyed the games i've played post revert so overall i think it's good they did it
Ngl I'm thinking of dropping the game until 2 is finished. I never played prior to 9.5 so my perception is an "outside looking in" kinda deal and I gotta say this patch blows. Early game is insanely tense, one mistake and you lose lane, late is ACTUALLY insane, EVERYONE gets deleted so quickly that only tanks have enough time to react let alone win a fight they don't initiate. Not really sure what the "fix" is here but so far every game has been 10 or 50+ minutes and I just finished my eighth game. If this is what OG smite was actually like then that must've been a terrible time.
Im very glad they aren't doing a full stat revert. I wasn't looking forward to getting oneshot by everything, especially as someone who JUST brought friends to the game, but a middleground could be fun :)
I will say one thing since the revert one thing i always hated about pre 9.5 smite was that if you were by yourself for just second you wiuld instantly die and be picked off easily late game was unskillful and was just stay close to your allies or your getting blasted into oblivion i dont know how i feel about this but early game is way more fun
I've been playing a lot this morning, and I've been having a blast. Games feel a lot more dynamic, and It feels more skill based than farm based. Outplaying your opponent and landing a clutch kill is better than staying under tower, spending 3 hours to kill a single wave, then going to a buff to spend another hour there, and then coming to lane, to repeat the process until one of the 2 laners gets ganked and pushed back into tower.
As many others have said I am also very anxious about these changes, however I am looking forward to it as the last couple of years I have had many games where both teams were struggling to get kills and the matches would just drag on and on, not to mention all the tower camping, Emperor's Armor has pretty much become a core item for most of my tank builds... I also believe it might be a little more worthwhile for tanks to buy damage and pen items since everyone is squishier and thus easier to kill, dont get me wrong I like pure tank builds but if I can't deal decent damage and be a threat to someone I don't feel very useful unless I'm playing a god that's supposed to be oriented to being pure support like Khepri or something.
I think the game should have always been designed around having 1 damage and/or pen item. But, losing hybrid items is a big reason why it's sucked to balance tanks the last 1.5 years
I like the update things actually die now, supports aren't just cc bots that can't deal damage and don't need to worry about positioning. Warriors can't just 1v5 the enemy team, wet noodle them, and walk away. Early game is more tense too.
Idk how to feel about this. It is making me more excited to get into conquest matches and not have em push towards an hour every time. But on the other side I would have rather they added bruiser items back into the game than revert 9.5
I personally love the patch. I've played for years and the game did feel different after 9.5, I got used to it but the game still felt lacking almost. Now I played jungle and Actually killed on first tank, there were 6kills on the board in only 3mins, some games I dont see that till 20mins. And although snowball is increased (this felt great as I was the ball) it didn't entirely decide the game. I went out of position once and got punished hard, especially by the enemy mid which is definitely how it should be. Hunters got the biggest nerf from this but they still did huge damage to me, just now they could be run down and killed. Overall it feels fantastic and much more like the good old days, imma play more once the lag stops, yk fresh update and all that.
I would say that the 9.5 revert is meant to push extra wards early, then you have more invested into wards that fail because you got killed and people rush to do Gold Fury or dare i say BDK, which both grant exp and gold but you also get to clear wards. Also with the hp changes expect to see a few deaths to jungle creeps from people who are used to seeing an hp bar 10 picels wide and still clearing it before backing wind up dead because they looked at their hp bar, not the hp number.
At high lvl game will maybe be more intresting but in low/mid elo its the worst change you can do. Casual Plat match is: 11-0 Awilix who playing for KDA, supp who runing away when hit for 50% hp cause he hates to die, and some solo mage who will watch you die without casting a spell and spam VC, and you on carry trying to at do at least something before you are jumped by some fafnir or any other tank/guardian who will ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISH YOU. A lot of people will say: THEN POSITION YOURSELF BETTER. Better is where exactly? Where my abilities cant reach? or my autos not reaching enemies? Its already funny how proper support on lane can just come to ya, sneeze with 2 abilities and you lost 40%hp. He will give you 2-3 autos and now its 70% lost. And imagine you will have less hp, less protections but damage is not reduced. Its really what tank meta was in league and why they created meme about ADC IN 2k(Insert year number)LUL. I dont think it a change for good. Its making game A LOT COINFLIPPY That its need to be.
The biggest skill diff in smite is knowing where to position. My only advice for you is to play behind walls when possible, use your actives preemptively when possible, think about your pathing, and knowing what characters have kill potential on you. If you’re getting poked out, you need to find something else to do outside of your lane for a minute. Smite is a very aggro game, so you need to play with an ego. When you are getting hit, do your best to return damage when possible. DO NOT eat free damage EVER because that shows your lane opponent that you’re not confident. I’ve been playing at 2.5-3k mmr, and that ego switch is the difference between a good player and a bad player especially in that 1.8-2k bracket.
@@radnorio3180 It wouldve been valid advise if only 90% of the matches someone not said: Nah i dont wanna win. And starting to lose their shit. You know its lost. its almost impossible when your team not realising you not have tp and mostly dead before you even can come in. Smite is aggro game but most of the aggro is towards your team from teammates. Also good luck to deal damage when your supp is runing away in 2vs2. Just good luck. And on ADC placing behind walls is an amazing advice. My Autos will reach them surely...
Honestly, so far it has been feeling terrible. If you're ahead, the snowball is crazy and it's super hard for the enemy to catch up so the game becomes kinda boring and if you're on the other side of the coin, if you get snowballed early, it's so hard to come back. Played a few games, most of them were surrenders, either us or the enemy, so I'm not sure if this was a good idea.
You really have to give it more time than that. People have to adjust mentally to the changes and then (hopefully) adjust their playstyle to compensate for the changes. You could be right, but less than a day is far too early to judge a patch this large.

I feel this makes the game highly inaccessible to newcomers or people trying to learn how to play the game in various ways. Less forgiveness for mistakes means less chances before someone gives up.

towers are meant to be strong early game and even a bit mid game, its only late game that they are meant to be less of an issue, right now it feels like all the towers hit the same which is bad, if im not mistaken there is a difference between tiers 1s, 2s and phoenixes but it doesnt feel as significant as it should, i feel like early game "tower camping" wouldnt be an issue if minions werent so pathetic in smite, farming minions in smite is the most braindead thing ever, in league its actually a skill to master and isnt the easiest thing to do at first, theres also all the tactics like freezing the wave, manipulating it to hard push into you, crashing it into tower then basing to come back and not miss a wave and the list goes on, in smite its "me use wave push ability, me kill all minions, now me wait for next wave and repeat"
This is going to screw squishy players bad. Partial revert woulda been better, but squishies are not gonna be having a good time, and you're prolly gonna see tanky assassin/warrior mids and jungles. Overall we're gonna see more 10 minute surrenders again, and squishies are gonna die to anything in a second and a half or less
This has to be one of the worst decisions ever made in Smite history. It's ability spamfest, where it's less about positioning, boxing, and pressure, back to just spamming abilities on cooldown and W keying. Titan is made out of glass again, where it's easy to kill, such that phoenix is tankier. Backdooring is back, which I never liked and was never good for teamplay. People are dying so much in matches, and tanks mean nothing. Ironically, ADCs suck now because they dont power spike until late, are super squishy, and getting 100 protections is super easy now to mitigate them. Flat pen is so crucial now that abilities are the way to go. This is HiRez really grasping the remnants of the Smite community to come back and play Smite 1 by pandering to a vocal minority. The reason 9.5 existed is being burst meta was unfun; it discouraged team play, promoted independent play, and encouraged pubstomp snowballing instead of farming early game in order to compete in late game team fights. TTK isnt the problem, it's the updates AFTER, and also the lack of team coordination in random lobbies to group up and take objectives. I get it, people like becoming OP by snowballing and destroying people with two abilities, but personally, I enjoyed the boxing, pressuring, and positioning 9.5 promoted rather than just seeing who blows their load the fastest. Uninstalled the game and started playing Predecessor. Much better game imo. Hate how Smite 1 is on life support until Smite 2 comes out, and they're rushing Smite 2 that they're porting over Smite 1 problems over (CC bloat, old god kits / model designs, diminishing returns, beads being necessary, etc...)
I honestly dont get why people are hyping up the return of snowballing. We had been fighting against it for years before but now that people are sad they cant 100-0 low bronze players any more they wanna get back to it? Fucking wack.
I've got a bone to pick with you sir. Joining a game and not picking a god during selection is a twat move sir (no hate ofc) I must say though, especially today, I've seen so many players who don't seem to know what they're doing with the game in general. Perhaps its matchmaking but people just die in a heartbeat from the games I've played today and unless you're going tanky first, the squishies die
I’m pumped about this. Early game gods will matter now! No more picking than and losing because the game is 48 min every single time. The games are too long and everyone’s a tank. If you ever watch league you literally watch the enemy die in .00000025 seconds.. one ability kills anyone in league so to play smite and have it take 11 players attacking one person to even half health him was very annoying..
Not a conquest player but i feel like this has ruined my man gamemode assault guardians are so useless its insane(I'm a guardian main) warrior feels bad too plus the cc spam is horrible had to make a build that uses both absol and magi's clock just to not insta die on guardians
Game is so horrible right now with the revert nonsense, extremely fast fights with 0 tactics, just explosions and corpses everywhere like a total mess, call me crazy but before the revert the characters already had their ways of dealing with stuff and i can't find the real problem, it was more tactical playstyle now is just a drooling baby fight of nukes, uninstalled and using my time wisely so i should thank them for the revert, now I can progress on important stuff and stop using smite as an excuse to "unwind for a bit" hehe
ALOT of people, especially high ego hidden profile adc mains hate season 9 and 9.5. But this is what we need. Why? Because Smite is at its best when warriors are strong. I don't know if they brought back hybrid items such as damage on glad and shifters but those 2 are needed. When warriors are strong, Smite is most fun and at its best. Ever since season 10 launched it went downhill. From day 1 of season 10 until today Smite wasn't fun. Every game is a team diff. EVERY game is stressful. I truly hope solos and guardians are back. For the longest time adcs and assasins have done too much damage without consequences
10.1 was the most fun I ever had in this game when you could stack tons of mitigation and face tank your enemies while glad shield did some work. Of course, tanks actually being tanks is bad, so they ruined it.
Honestly the state of the game right now is kind of unbearable, little to no action and basically who has the best carry and peeler wins since the only one that can deal enough damage consistently is the carry, which is also always getting to an expensive full build because he can just hyper farm. Pew pew and cc, this is smite right now, if this changes I think it's a welcome change, they can always balance some stuff after if it comes out op
The only ones complaining about the revert are just bad players...mechanichly bad or mediocres..who dont know how to position or play safe..who dont listen to calls and play the cq like its an arena match..they will die everytime like they should..i dont mind the game being snowbally...at least if my team suck like normally does the game doesnt drag to 40 min mark anymore..
That’s not what moba means lol and I know you didn’t mean that literally but Everything feels much more gimmicky and cheap than Tactical. Ganks, stealing camps at the last second, playing selfish until you can get a kill. This game is less sophisticated and skilled than you’re claiming.
Was 9.5 the release of Charon? That was the last time I played Smite, but it was simply because I was bored of the game. Smite 2, however, I will come to play, and it seems pointless for me to come back to Smite 1.
I think this revert is a mistake and will make tanks feel even worse to play in other modes. Right now tanks are either unstoppable or they don't matter, there is no in-between. All this patch is going to do is make tanks matter even less. I also expect Mage Solo is going to come back since damage is going to be more important since there is less bulk and Warriors won't have the tools. We will start to see Mages again by the end of the month, it will most likely be Poseidon since he will have a lot of buffs this patch.

Cant wait for the games to become hit 1 ability and win 😴
The people that get 1 hit are the smooth brains for being out of position
Beads ageis didn’t go anywhere, yeah you die easier but you can also turn fights if the enemy is being reckless. Much more outplay potential and matchup knowledge is needed to succeed
Ive been playing surtr during these changes and i just get destroyed and its not fun
This is fucking dark ages. Getting one shot by scylla once again
AS its supossed to be, i cant wait to hug a tower out of knowledge that theres a Herc lurking me :D
@@ozvespinoza3655 now i need to pick warlock's staff so I can do teamfights xd
It's just adapting to the new meta, I stopped playing 2years ago or more and to me it feels like smite is supposed to be
@@ozvespinoza3655 nah. The squishines sucks now. I played Agni had 1,2k hp and Scylla 2 did 1k alone. So what I'm supposed to do? having 3 on espace only? Having 3 stacks of aegis so I can do something? Nah this patch sucks. If you played you would knew it was better. LoL did it,Hi-rez copied it and it worked.
@@skateboardcz do the same to her with your 700 2s and 600 ults, position yourself better and learn the game, now u are punished for playing braindead thats the only thing it's more fun now you just need to "get good"
towers are meant to be strong early game and even a bit mid game, its only late game that they are meant to be less of an issue, right now it feels like all the towers hit the same which is bad, if im not mistaken there is a difference between tiers 1s, 2s and phoenixes but it doesnt feel as significant as it should, i feel like early game "tower camping" wouldnt be an issue if minions werent so pathetic in smite, farming minions in smite is the most braindead thing ever, in league its actually a skill to master and isnt the easiest thing to do at first, theres also all the tactics like freezing the wave, manipulating it to hard push into you, crashing it into tower then basing to come back and not miss a wave and the list goes on, in smite its "me use wave push ability, me kill all minions, now me wait for next wave and repeat"
I AM THE KING OF SPEED LOVE YOU INTER RAAAAAAAAAAAAGH
Unironocally killed a xbal today with Horus 2-1. We were both lvl 20 and my only dmg or proc item was Runeforged 😂
The revert was a bad idea. This latest patch proves that. Hunters are back in meta and tanks get shredded
Predecessor is cringe
looks like all the coward players will start dying. I like it
Is that why the arena folks are preparing a large burial pit?
I honestly dont get why people are hyping up the return of snowballing. We had been fighting against it for years before but now that people are sad they cant 100-0 low bronze players any more they wanna get back to it?
Fucking wack.
You can one shot people at level 2 its hilaious
I've got a bone to pick with you sir. Joining a game and not picking a god during selection is a twat move sir (no hate ofc)
I must say though, especially today, I've seen so many players who don't seem to know what they're doing with the game in general. Perhaps its matchmaking but people just die in a heartbeat from the games I've played today and unless you're going tanky first, the squishies die
I love the revert!
I played smite 2 and the building your character is terrible. I’ve been playing since season 1 and I struggled, anybody else have this problem?
Game is so horrible right now with the revert nonsense, extremely fast fights with 0 tactics, just explosions and corpses everywhere like a total mess, call me crazy but before the revert the characters already had their ways of dealing with stuff and i can't find the real problem, it was more tactical playstyle now is just a drooling baby fight of nukes, uninstalled and using my time wisely so i should thank them for the revert, now I can progress on important stuff and stop using smite as an excuse to "unwind for a bit" hehe
if you enjoy the revert you are having a short circuit on the head honestly
Agreed make tanks op! (A completely non biased tank player)
Unfortunately hybrid items r a still a thing of the past
Honestly great point, i would even say that when adcs being the strongest makes the game the least fun lol
@@lickerswalrus5781 it's not fun at all. ESPECIALLY with old hide of nemean lion being gone.
10.1 was the most fun I ever had in this game when you could stack tons of mitigation and face tank your enemies while glad shield did some work.
Of course, tanks actually being tanks is bad, so they ruined it.
Tanking is impossible and mitigations barely do squat lmao
Atlas wrecks now!
Wow they love pissing off their entire player base makes no sense
Ive been playing Poseidon in solo and absolutely dominating
I want them to buff the items again I want my mage once shots back
Was 9.5 the release of Charon? That was the last time I played Smite, but it was simply because I was bored of the game. Smite 2, however, I will come to play, and it seems pointless for me to come back to Smite 1.
revert this shit back, imposibru to play
Try adapting. If you can land an ares 1, then you can do it.
Nah mage solos aint coming back any time soon
Mage solos depended on the class passive of the free power they get. So unless you get the classes back up, then mage solos are good as gone
Warriors have higher kill potential than before tho...
I always win with mage solos anyways
@@newstation795 respectfully are you low level?
This is going to be terrible.
