Afrikaans is not actually a language it is simply an old Dutch dialect. You can’t create a language in 200 years you can create a code, but not a language.
@@darthseti9492 Boers didn't create Afrikaans it was made by the slaves and Indo-malays who were trying to speak and mimic it that's why there's Asian words incorporated
His intro of His language made no sense. Xhosa speakers are confused. Afrikaans wasn't forced in apartheid. It's still spoken today and is the main widely spoken language. Apartheid has no relevance here. Dutch people can't understand if you speak to them in Afrikaans and you won't be able to communicate to Dutch people. That is false. When you start just making up random crap then it's not comedy anymore. This isn't funny. Stop using the ignorance of the crowd to perpetuate lies about South Africa.
It's comedy douchebag, the primary objective is to be funny, if you are looking to be educated by a comedian, you need to check your priorities. What do you know about Xhosa anyway? I understood him perfectly. Afrikaans was forced by that Far Right Nationalist government.
1976 June 16th was the day we stood up and refused the IMPOSING of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction!!! It was being forced and not even 1976 massacre by apartheid cops stopped it!!! I totally dislike people who didn’t go through an experience personally yet they want to tell those who felt the pain how they should feel about their oppression or choose to speak of their experience of the moment of suffering and pain, on their behalf!!! WE WERE BEING FORCED TO LEARN AFRIKAANS! To this day English AND Afrikaans are the two languages that one doesn’t choose as subjects at school, they are standard, especially at government schools!!! I went there, my younger siblings went there, I still have nieces and nephews that go to THESE SCHOOLS! All subjects are taught in English which okay seeing as English is an international language, yet the intention was to limit how far we can go in life with BANTU EDUCATION and Afrikaans which is officially spoken only in SA and Namibia, and yes it was there and though it is now not on paper, it still is in many schools that are still in the same situation in terms of resources like it was during apartheid, and don’t blame the current government in fact if I have to admit I’d say yes, they’re failures when it comes to service delivery and running affairs of government but the apartheid regime was cruel in that they ignored 90% of the population who were and continue to be the ones breaking their backs to make money for the beneficiaries of apartheid, they were openly discriminatory in making sure that as government they DELIBERATELY AND INTENTIONALLY CHOSE NOT to serve the entire 90% of country, the 90% people whose backs carry the economy of SA together!! They ignored their education, development, providing or making available for pay even things like running water, electricity (we got this at my house after 1994; yes we paid for it but during apartheid money was not the currency, color of one’s skin was) and many other things! I know you were trying to sound patriotic and pro South Africa; that I can support but don’t insult our intelligence by insinuating that things that happened to us were all in our minds!!! This is the mistake that some our white countrymen and women make, I will agree with you if you tell me the government of the day is failing or being incompetent on this , that and that over there but the minute you suggest they made things worse than what they were during apartheid then you have insulted me, even if you defend without any basis for that, ANY aspect of which the imposition of Afrikaans upon us(I was alive) was one of millions of the atrocities they carried out on black people! Imposing of Afrikaans in particular is a very sensitive subject, we lost thousands of lives (cruel and dishonest apartheid regime says it was only 700…as if that the truth, or that it matters); tread carefully around that issue!!! By the way, as a language I don’t think Afrikaans is the problem, I speak good Afrikaans and it is to my benefit that I now can, but not only that, Afrikaans is a beautiful language and I genuinely like it, I am into languages!!! I went out of my way to learn Portuguese and now I’m busy with Swahili!!! It is the issue of IMPOSING it on people that I have a problem with!!! And the same my sentiments would remain the same if in this multicultural South Africa with so many languages, we decide to make any one of these languages, superior to the others!!! That would include isiZulu (my own language)…so don’t impose stuff on people and then kill them when they refuse!!!
I just wanna say, he's one of the funniest stand up comedian there is!!!! He's sooo chill but funny as hell!!!
