A little tip that was past on to me many, many years ago, on your chariot if you turn the wheels around, so that the concave part of the wheel is on the outside, your chariot creates less build up of raked out muck on the wheels, thus creating cleaner face work, as more of the raked muck drops free. Not saying your face work is dirty, just noticed that your chariot wheels are as you buy them with the concave inside. All the best
When I was in the building game ( retired joiner now ) started 1971 brickies had to do a test wall if it was good enough they got a start but they had to keep that standard up throughout the job

I qualified as a level 3 bricklayer in 2009 but my firm laid me off because of the recession and I struggled to get work so I left the industry to move into other lines of work. I’ve been toying with the idea of returning because the money is so good but am a little unconfident with my speed as I haven’t done it in so long but if there are brickies this bad getting paid then it kinda gives me hope!

The work on the balcony is getting torn down, no one is saving that! The guy running the job knows it’s unsaveable and genuinely seems happy he’s got some people in that know what they’re doing. We will see on Friday when it’s payday 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Being a bricky isn’t easy because you always have to check other peoples work before you start and some of the work these managers want you to take on is shiiite . No doubt the prices or the day rate will get cut to compensate for the take downs . The q s should be getting off his arse and checking work before too much damage is done.
I thought you all work to profiles on site these days? In the old days we used a gauge stick but some didn't check enough and you got course of pig. Not easy to get over! We used to do that stupid raked out joint in the 80s and it looked awful then too.
Usually profiles are all set up, no idea what the lads where taking before we got there, it was all over the place. The reason there is a raked out joint is because the site manager was cutting corners everywhere and wanted to save money on black dye for the muck so it was all raked out and then repointed in black muck later on which makes no sense as the money you’re saving on black muck you’re wasting more paying people to point. The job was a madness from day 1

Hello Anna, tbf they paid up every week and on time until the job was complete. Some weeks we earned well and some not so well, there was no access on the whole job so we was loading bricks down from the roof for hours on end and then carrying tons of sand up flights of stairs to knock some muck up, was complete madness 🤯🤯

This channel and Charlie’s channel is like chalk and cheese, with different techniques used … completely different….. in speed … I appreciate this is not a long run of brick work … your doing .. I believe wire cuts are harder to lay , if the muck is not correct.. I also appreciate, your eye to the perps … I guess they lost the gauge,, maybe ? When grinding down …. Easier to bump a course out of it … as I say it’s just a guess… It needs coming down I think ……
