Since I'm non catholic, I witnessed how the priest invoke the holy oils and how this oil works for the sick, catachumen and chrism. And also it included how the oils will save the catholic in the sacrament and salvation of love.
As a roman catholic, The oil can be used in praying for oneself or in praying for others. The simplest way of anointing is to make the sign of the cross on the forehead while saying the accompanying prayers. During the part of the Chrism Mass called the Rite of Reception of the Oils, representatives from every diocesan/archdiocesan parish receive the three oils. Whenever the holy oils are used, the ministry of the bishop who blessed and consecrated them is symbolically present.

One of the most impressive liturgies of the year is the Chrism Mass. At this Mass, the Bishop, the leader of the local church, blesses oils that will be used all over the Archdiocese for baptism, confirmation, ordination, consecration and the anointing of those who are suffering. These blessed and now Holy Oils are sent from the Cathedral so the work of the church can be done in unity anywhere.
The Holy Oils can be used for different sacraments. It also has a symbolism for Catholics which makes it essential and sacred. As a Non-Catholic, it is also important for us to recognize and acknowledge the different beliefs and traditions that other religions practice.

Since I'm non catholic, I witnessed how the priest invoke the holy oils and how this oil works for the sick, catachumen and chrism. And also it included how the oils will save the catholic in the sacrament and salvation of love.
As a roman catholic, The oil can be used in praying for oneself or in praying for others. The simplest way of anointing is to make the sign of the cross on the forehead while saying the accompanying prayers. During the part of the Chrism Mass called the Rite of Reception of the Oils, representatives from every diocesan/archdiocesan parish receive the three oils. Whenever the holy oils are used, the ministry of the bishop who blessed and consecrated them is symbolically present.
It amazes me how our Lord and savior can love His Creation unconditionally. Regardless of the fact that we are sinners, He still provides us these gentle reminders that we will not be alone. He is there to guide us and protect us every step of our journey as Catholics and as children of God.
