It’s an amazing story which teaches us the morality because at first glance this old man looks very thoughtful and generous when he tried to sell his beautiful silk umbrella to a woman and her daughter and even this young girl believed him sincerely, but secondly, when they investigated a little bit about this old man the woman and her daughter found our one unpleasant thing that this man is not a gentleman as he had looked before, so he was a person who was pretended to be intelligent, but in reality he bought a glass of whiskey and after than, the woman was following him when he left a pub and this time he went to the other street and he did the same when he found a new young lady whose he asked for £1 pound trying to sell another umbrella again. To sum up, not all people can look generous when they take care of others and probably they have their own motives providing assistance to strangers.
We all like your face, your voice and your teaching methods very much! The Roald Dahl storry is wonderful and it is a great peasure litening to you read it for us... this is a very pleasant way of learning English!
First, I thought he was trying to give his umbrella to them but knowing that no decent person would accept an umbrella from an old guy, he invented such a lie. The ending really caught me by surprise. But, above all, I managed to say "all" like Dylan and now I am freakingly so happy about it.
Hi teacher Dylan 👋 hope everything is ok with you, thanks again for another beneficial video, love the way you narrate stories, your voice makes them so special and enjoyable 😌
Thank you very much! My grammar , vocabulary and speaking skills are not that bad, but I lack listening skills. Unfortunately, most of the UA-cam channels designed to improve listening skills, where you can listen to stories, alas, with an American accent. So your channel is just a ticket!!
A really good story and so beautifully read by you, thank you very much, dear Dylan 🙂 Just one question though: you are pronouncing "the" with an "i"-sound at the end of the word (always, I mean throughout the whole story). I was sure this rule only applied when the folowing words starts with a vowel sound...? Thank you for explaining this and until next time, I'm very much looking forward to many other great lessons from you👌 here on youtube
Hi Dylan, this writing my first. I need to learn this language but I lost my motivation. And something very bad happened, I missed my scholarship interview and I won't get the scholarship. I think I'll leave this video half way through, I'm not well, but you be fine. loves from Turkiye ❤️
This Bri’ish young man is particularly noice. He is polite. He is well-spoken. He is well-dressed. He is a real gentleman !! 🍷😏 When I was reading the text, I caught you that moment 😹 umm… I really enjoyed it & learnt some new vocab words. imo, reading has a golden rule for repeat everything (Grammar, words, prononciation etc..). It was really useful video as always 🎉 Cheers ❤
Hey, Dylan!😃🖐 Thank you so much for reading this wise story!🤍 It seems to me that 34-years-old-- woman doesn't have a private life!😃 On the one hand she's lucky! She was "presented" an silk umbrella which she hadn't have it before! Be happy and go home! (Btw, she hurried getting home, didn't she ?🤔) On the other hand if she did it like this, it would be a different story , obviously... It was written in 1980. P.S. Your voice is charming, Dylan! Especially, I like it, when you say a word "but" :) Cheers!🤍
