Man, Marineford is honestly when things really REALLY started getting serious in this anime. To a degree I doubt ANYONE'd expect at first. God, I LOVE One Piece.
Lord Slashington III Marines have assholes who profit of the system to commit horrendous acts too: Akainu mainly. He kills his own marine men. He only cares about death of the pirates. Unlike Fujitora for example who thinks of the citizens. Aokiji even said he deemed Akainu to be a bad leader. Same can be said about Luffy. He is a pirate who cares about humans, whereas Kidd and Blackbeard don't. So it goes both ways. They're the same in that. What my comment was actually about was: Both Luffy AND Kidd, Blackbeard represent freedom and free beliefs. While both Akainu AND Aokiji represent law and stability.

Akainu is not as bad as the Celestial Dragons, they abuse to law to protect themselves and do anything they want. Akainu actually holds respect for the law and does believe in Justice. But he's still technically Lawful Evil cause he'll kill anyone that gets in his way, even if it's an ally, such as he tried to do with Coby during the war against Whitebeard. He values Justice more then the lives it's suppose to protect. I am willing to admit that he may be more "Neutral" rather then being plain evil, but he leans more towards the evil side of lawful then then other Admirals did.

This is one of my favourite soundtracks. I really love the Marines in One Piece ( especially Garp and Sengoku and Smoker and Aokiji and Fujitora and.... well, every Marine that has a name and isn't useless *cough cough Tashigi* ) and one of my favourite things about the show is how different the concept of ''justice'' is for every single character. That said, fuck Akainu.
@@yrnkevinsmithC-137 since I wrote that comment I've came to respect Akainu a little bit more, but I still don't like him. Not even because he killed Ace ( since yeah that's his job ) but because he's a bit too extreme about justice imo. I still feel sorry for that one marine that got killed for trying to desert Marineford
@@stuffulsocks2546 Not really. The marines will protect the Tenryuubito, no matter what. And they can do whatever they want, the marines won't bat an eye if they rape or kill someone.
Exactly. Thank you for saying that. The evolution of history in One Piece is just all too different, it is a different universe that wants to represents the real one somehow but it's too hyperbolic and riddled with parables, it can't be compared to the real world simply because it has a very specific narrative with a few goals. So when people want to compare say a One Piece nation (like Wano) to a real one (Japan) I always take it with a grain of salt because it only makes references to it, One Piece feels like a totally different universe in a very different planet. And so, even the concepts they handle there (like justice) really seem very foreign to me. Oda decided to give the word justice a totally different meaning. But One Piece Fanboys won't see that.

It's the World Government who defines justice. Just like in our world, there are things that are executed even though the majority of the people think differently.
I agree, but if there were no marines, bad pirates, (which is the majority of them) would kill innocents and ravage the world without end. In other words, the weak would die and the strong would survive. It would be kind of a grim reality, but I totally agree, there are pirates like the Strawhats do a better job of protecting people than most marines. But there are a few sensible marines like Smoker & Tashigi, Garp, Segoku, Aokiji :)

More like BB dying first in laugh tale or maybe not and coming back, Luffy and Akainu teaming up is like Garp and Roger teaming up but against Imu but I would like if Luffy and BB teams up because they have almost the same ideals, but it would be more likely if Marines divide into two parts and Akainu also decides to go against the Five Elders and and still being against the pirates. And I wonder if Garp would survive for that long in the final war arc, or at least as long to have an epic entrance like that, I mean I feel like Garp would be killed before the Arc or early in that arc by someone like Akainu or someone from the WG.
