    love this! We have a similar thing in Tunisia called "Fat7ah" where if they agree, they recite Surah Al Fatihah together (groom and bride's father and imam).

    So interesting to see this. I found it very curious that there were women with rather short dresses and that the bride had no head scarf.

    At 4:00 when the imam was sitting between the groom and the bride's father signing the marriage contract, that part was not from the Jaha, that was a part of katb ktab (or writing the book). It used to be 2 separate things previously, now there are people who do both together on the same day.

    Question:after the jaha, are they islamically married now? As in nikah or are they still not islamically married yet?

      If contract has been signed then they are married (all marriages in Jordan are religious (Islamic))

      Not always but this specific example is Islamic marriage because they signed the papers

      @@WandererinAqaba Modesty is contextually-bound. As time changes, culture changes, and modesty looks different. The principle is to behave with dignity, not wear or not wear a particular thing. Clothing is a small and relatively unimportant detail in comportment.
