This channel is about my daily adventures living in the Middle East and how I navigate motherhood outside of a comfort zone as MIA - Mummy in Amman 🙃
Waving, not drowning 😅🙋🏼♀️
Say hi if you’re in a similar boat!

@mummyinamman
0:23 Jaha is a traditional proposal event 😂❤️ loving the definition ❤️
love this! We have a similar thing in Tunisia called "Fat7ah" where if they agree, they recite Surah Al Fatihah together (groom and bride's father and imam).
Its the same but the jaha is a plus .
Just got married in Jordan on Friday!! 💓 Your videos helped me prepare for what to expect, thanks so much for that ☺️
Congrats
@@mohammadrayyan7851 Thanks! شكرا
Mabrouk n MashaAllah….. I’m soon myself marrying my Jordanian Muslim man and I’m beyond excited 🤣
Masha Allah! Congratulations to the bride, groom and families! Very interesting video. So happy you shared it.
So interesting to see this. I found it very curious that there were women with rather short dresses and that the bride had no head scarf.
Beautiful tradition
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful event and tradition. Never knew of this before.
Thank you sis Rachel for teaching me such Jordanian tradition which I could not know without your help although I am an Arabic man from IRAQ ...
Here in Iraq, it is called Meshya and Aqid "
Thank you for sharing our Jaha with the world ❤️❤️❤️ you are such a beautiful person inside and out ❤️❤️
Very nice traditional approach for their marriages and engagements thanks
Thanks for sharing!! Congrats to the bride and groom
I've discovered your channel a few week ago. mashaallah very nice and very interesting videos you have...Many salaams from TURKEY🕌 TO BEATIFUL AMMAN💗
Exactly the kind of videos I ❤️ love
Assalamualaikum Sis. This was a beautiful event. Thank you for sharing. Congrats to the bride and groom. May their marriage last forever till Jannah. You have nice nails colour by the way.
At 4:00 when the imam was sitting between the groom and the bride's father signing the marriage contract, that part was not from the Jaha, that was a part of katb ktab (or writing the book). It used to be 2 separate things previously, now there are people who do both together on the same day.
Love your explanation! Great topic, so grateful you shared this. Thanks, MIA!
love how U explain it
Great video as always. Very interesting.
We also have Jaha in Syria
Really great video
Gorgeous as always, thank you
since you've come to know what Jaha means, then actually you deserved the Jordanian's passport
Awesome traditions! 💖🙏
الف مبروك الف مبروك الف مبروك الف مبروك
I want to learn more About the culture
关注你好久啦,那时候你才几百粉丝,现在你已经好几万了,👳🏻♀️👍
Thank you!
I had a question do you know if they have American nurses working in Jordan Amman kn healthcare secure or Nursing? Do you get free healthcare in Jordan Amman or how much is it ?
It’s called a tulbe
For ladies only engagement party, do visitors bring atleast a gift to the lady who will get engage?
gourgeous ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful
الحمد لله أختي لا أحضر الجاهات ولا أرى لها حاجة، وحتى الأعراس صارت مظاهر فجور أكثر من كونها طاعة وتحصن وعفاف.
Question:after the jaha, are they islamically married now? As in nikah or are they still not islamically married yet?
If contract has been signed then they are married (all marriages in Jordan are religious (Islamic))
Not always but this specific example is Islamic marriage because they signed the papers
@@numberone22459 I just meant signed contract = married :)
I liked how you wore your hijab in the older videos 🥰 I know it's a personal choice, but to me the way you had it first covered more of what should be covered, which is the whole purpose of wearing it.
Accept my respect and love 💚
4:54 not a direct translation 😂😂
I'd marry a one of y'all y'all are cool
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful
Assalamu alaikkum
Aoa. Khalid here from Pakistan (Karachi). I am interested to marry my son from your country. Profound regards.
greta thunberg? (first comment, not gonna hakem happen again, promise)
I don't like Jaha in marriage issues Because there is embarrassment in it
Hope you have taken permision sister from both the groom and the bride families to show this video in public... Some families would not agree showing their women dressing like that in public...
Not to sound disrespectful but They are not dressed modestly at all. And in front of non mahrem men Anyways.
May Allah SWT guide us to what is better Ameen.
@@WandererinAqaba Modesty is contextually-bound. As time changes, culture changes, and modesty looks different. The principle is to behave with dignity, not wear or not wear a particular thing. Clothing is a small and relatively unimportant detail in comportment.
Obviously, she did get permission and stayed within the bounds of what was to be shown.
@@larkabroad Muslims have a book from God that tells them how to live their lives.. How to eat... How to dress... How to pray... Etc...
These things do not change with time... Since the Quran is preserved and will continue to be preserved until the end of this universe

@@Sami_f_AL-Hamdan Most Muslims aren't Salifis and have a more mature and educated understanding than that...
But we are in the 21st century, why do we have to follow what our parents did. Let’s make a change, let’s cut the cost, I know it’s not easy. Old traditions make me sick with all do my respect. Mabrook anyway 👏
No one is forced to follow those traditions
It does no harm , also It's nice and i enjoyed it at my engagement, if you don't so don't do it
Oh Lord Jordan is so primitive
No, It is just that you are rootless
Not beautiful really, some women dresses are not suitable to our culture, I don't like it.
Then don’t watch. It’s not your jaha
While it's floating, I watch and I say may opinion, there's no problem in that.
Agreed 😔😔😔
