      Stan is an anomaly. People always talk about how is he is Novak’s kryptonite, because he is 4-5 against him in slams. Yet, outside of slams, he’s 2-16 against Novak. With most players it’s the opposite…he is certainly a very unusual player who at his peak was a nightmare for Djokovic (primarily because Novak’s play style) and 3x slam winner. Outside of those rare peaks, he wasn’t very good

      Absolutely but I was just putting emphasis on despite having won 3 slams he didn't had much Atp sucess something you don't normally see. His playing style is what makes him so famous among fans

    At his best Stan was incredible. His victory against Novak to win the French was one of the most mind boggling performances I’ve ever seen. Almost unplayable that day. So happy he won 3 slams and a masters. Extremely well deserved…oh and it helps when he wields the most devastating single handed backhand the game has ever seen! 👌

    I remember this match clearly😢💔
    roger beat novak in semi and nadal was defeated too and i though this's Rogers's golden opportunity to win the title for the first time ,he'd good chance to win but mentally collapsed after losing 2nd set tiebreak and monte-carlo cup once again eluded him like if he's destined not to win it just like Rome 💔
    but we must give stan the credit cus he played great tennis to take down his countryman 🇨🇭

    It’s crazy to think that quite a few guys now have multiple masters titles; Alcaraz, Zverev, Medvedev, to name a few. Yet in this era, great players like Wawrinka and Del Potro often ended their career with at most one masters title. Goes to show how dominant the big 3 were.

      It wasn't, look again in 0.25, you'll see there's a mark right after it lands, unfortunately in these videos with low fps you can't see the bounce properly. It's deceiving. It's well inside the court, touches the inside of the line at most.

    • @nickwu4384
      @nickwu4384 2 місяці тому

      @@GF-hg7op It is a shame, but if you can't keep your level in the most important moments, you don't deserve to win. Not to mention Stan missed a lot of easy putaways this match as well, an example would be the breakpoint when he was 2-1 up in the first.

    From what I watched, Federer's boseline shots were less deep than his early days, esp. in 14, 15, 16, mostly just landed pass serve line. One of the reasons that he couldn't compete with Nadal and DJ during those years?

    Such a shame a player as talented as Wawrinka has only one Masters 1000
    Also a shame that Federer never won Monte Carlo or Rome despite being a top 5 clay court player in the open era. Without Nadal he'd have at least 4-5 Roland Garros.
