Makes you want to cry 😢 a time when game companies who make their games with love and not greed, a time when there was no battlepasses, DLC’s season passes, a time where you didn’t have to force yourself to play in events that grant you exclusive items, but that may sound cool and all but, everything was simple. That’s why Sega will always have a special place in my heart, for being way ahead of time, like with the SEGA CHANNEL on the Sega Genesis, or if you were a Japanese business man or just a regular citizen in 1988, doing online banking on the Sega Genesis Mega Modem.... before online banking was even thinking about going there If you had a time machine went back to 1988 in America, going to a Witney Bank and ask a teller what she thinks about Online Banking, she’d call the cops on you and think your plotting and orchestrating a heist. Welll... not yet but I’d you told her you were from the year 2023.... then yeah a call from the cops and a trip to a mental institution because it’s crazy!!!! I remember watching an old wrestling show WCW Saturday Night, and there was a commotion going onand some asks how did this person send a picture to you ? He’s like you can’t send someone a photo through a television dummy!!! So that’s where I went on about the time travel reference! R.I.P. Dreamcast you will live on just like ECW did when it closed its doors in 2001...
There will never be a time I hear this song and don't think of the experience of playing Phantasy Star again (it had been years since last playing PS4) and the idea that this was online. I could connect with people to play, I could download new missions to refresh the gameplay, and there was plenty to do for a game at the turn of the millenium. I played on Dreamcast first, but missed the chance for the broadband modem before the system was abandoned by Sega. Once this hit the Gamecube, I was all over it for years, then again on the Xbox when Xbox Live began. I still play this offline from time to time, as even though it's a dated game, it's still fun and music like this holds a special place in my heart.
This is the first online multiplayer game I ever experienced. I used to go to a friends house to watch this game. This song is forever ingrained in my brain, but that is by no means a bad thing.
I spent many hours aboard Pioneer 2's mall district exchanging rares, setting up trades or discussing the next area of Ragol to explore... We truly were the pioneers of multiplayer online RPG's back then.
reminds me of buying those teleport things and checking out the cool advanced mech gear outside my budget and ability to wield with my friends before going back to fight some weird monster things with light sabers and mags
Where is the music CD of this in PSO2/NGS global!? I remember it was in PSO2 Japan! 😱 PS. NGS is really good! Love it's freedom and gameplay! Gorgeous too! Music is also very enjoyable! But I need this song! 🤣
I do remember often hearing this mostly after defeating Bal Lodos on Wopal Coast Exploration before (on the JP version), but I could be mistaken and instead I may have heard this theme on a limited time quest.
That's not really the reason. There was still people playing PSO by this server. The real reason was that many people didn't respect the servers rules, admins had no more interest to take care of the server, and the lack of donation donations to the server. I think there's other private servers still on,but they're much smaller
And the Tekker! That dude was my man! I'd hit up the weapon or armor shops to check to see if there were 4 slot armor or insane %s on weps. Mostly slotted armor though.
Fuckin love this game, anyone on psobb ultima ever find me, my character names are Blaze FE, and my other is Blaze V E. I'd post my guild card but I can't right now, maybe I'll edit this comment with it sometime. This music is so nostalgic, and So fucking cool. ❤️
I didn't even know that SCTHACK servers went down, that really upsets me. I had so many fond memories on that server, ever since 2006. It sucks to hear that. I never got my guy to lvl 200 either. I guess due to the success of PSO2, ppl just stopped playing PSO :(
People never stopped playing, SCHTHACK died due to technical failure while it was full, and the team kind of didn't care to restore it. Well who cares, it was always killing off accounts anyway. Everyone waited for a few weeks of them doing visibly nothing, promising nothing, reacting to nothing, and then went to Ultima server.
PSO 2 way too fast paced, I will always love pso of the dreamcast days, it was slower and more realistic to me, I wish they would have stayed with this Aesthetic, hell even phantasy star universes aesthetic was pretty good, instead of making it like a god damn anime ;(
I wish SEGA could reactivate the servers from the retro PSO games. I was so pissed off after hearing that the most popular private PSO server STCHACK, or whaever is it called, shutted down some wekks ago. I just bought a Gamecube to get this game and play it.

This theme sounds like the future of gaming, and the new world of the internet.
This is one of the things that made the Dreamcast so wonderful
Completely agree. I'm soooooooo glad I was the age i was in the early 2000s. It was an incredible time and this game was one of the reasons. 👍👍
There's actually a genre that sprung up that sounds exactly like this. Enawave or Weirdcore.

This tune always felt exactly like shopping in an interstellar space mall which I guess arguably is what the ship was to a guild hunter.
This song sounds so futuristic. Even after all these years.

This one always made it seem like Pioneer was full of people. PSO may not have the best graphics but the themes really put you in the game.
And I'd like to add that the community back then was just awesome!
I havr fond memories with the community and the dumb things me and my friends did in town @CylenX6
Music of my people.
Try Schthack server. You can play PSO BB online for free on pc, gc and dreamcast. Our People are here =D
greatest vibe was this area in a dark room at 9 pm after school
Maybe my best gaming years were with this music
Grégoire Morin mine as well.
I didn't even grow up with this game, but my first time hearing the music in game triggered nostalgia as if I had experienced it all those years ago
Back when games were more simple and fun.
Ah yes - I remember idling a great deal to this song.
Pioneer 2 is my happy place. Love this music.

I wish I could just make this the ship theme in PSO2
Ah... Pioneer 2... Home.

PSO2 just doesn't cut it.
I agree. this PSO had to have made the most money but some factor out there that we don't know about is keeping PSO from returning.
one of the best song to setting accompaniments in gaming history, no doubt
Ah, my entire childhood is this song, i absolutely love it, thank you for the extended version

I remember when anyone who went to my home to visit hear this song while I was playing, they instantly liked 😊.
Making a utopia state on Starbound. This is playing in my head constantly.
I remember sitting at school in 9th grade with this stuck in my head.
This is my favorite song in this game.

It's just not the same. I know, I know, "duh"! But... It's just not the same. I can't explain it better than that.
Going to replace whatever track plays in the PSO2 Lobby with this...
Heh, all these years later, did you ever get a chance to add the Pioneer2 themed team room to your team/alliance base?
The PSO series needs a revitalizing like Fire Emblem got with Awakening
I've been playing a lot of PSO (Ephinea server) recently.
So many hours invested lol. Needed all the Legendary Weapons. 😂
I play this whenever there's an event in PSO2 and the theme is starting to drive me crazy. Looking at you Easter event.
yeah when i did the limited quest the first time i didnt know anything about it, it take me by surprise xD all clasic pso themes, so cool
Playing this while in Solution Nine
Ah, memories.
Hope this is PSO 2 along with Raygal. I still need to find Pioneer 1.

Gonna be totally honest, if I could play pso2 with this as the ship theme id be playing it so much more
PSO> any other online game
This game needs a remake ASAP! PSO2 is not my cup of tea and hasn't even been released in America.
Sega has been messing with the serie sadly. (I'm still hopping to see a western release of PSPo2 infinity)
Guess what buddy? It’s in the west now!
