    on tempo change- I tried to set a metronome to this- and I think for the ENTIRE SONG- it's kinda wobbly, or the tempo is just done "by feel". Or it started with a "base recording" of one performance, and everyone else matched it.

    Billy gets a lot of criticism for his vocals, but I love them on this album and Gish. His delivery is really creative. The way he seamlessly switches from a gentle, breathy shoegaze style to shouty, gritty rock multiple times in the same verse is quite special.

    • @georgial6398
      @georgial6398 3 роки тому +7

      His vocals on the records have a little secret, he would have D'arcy record vocals for every track in a higher tone, then sync her vocal track to his own and turn its volume down - basically using her as an effect for his own voice. She mentioned this during a public argument a few years ago and Filter confirmed it, saying they'd had her do the same thing on one of their records.

    This is Smashing Pumpkins. The best band in the 90's. I have millions that would back me up on this. This song is from the 1993 album "Siamese Dream". Fantastic album. Just as its 1995 follower: "The Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness". Billy Corgan on the vocals and the guitar is the genius behind almost all the songs and lyrics. Jimmy Chamberlin is a monster on the drums. Nice reaction David!

      Siamese Dream is the best album of the 90's, but Nine Inch Nails is the best band of the 90's. Gish is a good album, Melon Collie has a lot of filler, don't need to mention Adore. Downward Spiral and The Fragile are both brilliant, and both way better than Gish and Melon Collie.

    I believe Jimmy Chamberlin is the best rock drummer of the past 30 years. His work on the first 3 Smashing Pumpkins albums was just phenomenal. But you really have to see him play to appreciate how effortlessly he maintains such intense grooves and fills. Geek USA is a brilliant example of how Chamberlin's drum sound shaped the whole band's sound. Here he is, more than two decades later, performing the drum part for GeeK USA at a drum clinic in London. So cool. ua-cam.com/video/61VGr1-VXAg/v-deo.html
