Thank you, Everlyn Banaag. I am a graduate of All Nations Christian College in Ware, England. You can learn more about how the gospel removes shame for all people, including Muslim women at www.audreyfrank.com. I would love to continue the conversation with you.
(1 Timothy 2: 12-14)- 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner (1 Corinthians 11:6-7)- 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man! (Deuteronomy 22: 13-15)- 13 If a man takes a wife and, after sleeping with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,” 15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring to the town elders at the gate proof that she was a virgin. (Leviticus 21:9)- "And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire." p.s.- This is the iceberg of current Biblical god's honor to women.
It is indeed an iceberg because these are all isolated passages without any context. I agree that these are not easy passages to understand, but what do you do with all the other passages in which women are clearly honored? The Bible was not even written in English, and it was also written within a culture that is so different from ours. What was the context behind these passages? When God told Adam he was giving him a helper, he used the word "ezer", and it is the same word God uses to describe himself as a helper. I don't see women being put to shame here.
