Quentin Miller recently came out and said he didn't ghost write for Nas. People were assuming that because he had credits for ONE KD2 song, The Pressure.
He did not write a thing for nas. The song miller is on is called pressure. He is on the background vocals that is him saying pressure data it. This shouldn't even be a conversation. Good channel doe.
It definitely matters in hip hop and don’t really need to explain why. With Nas himself, he was growing up when Hip Hop was developing. That’d be even more of a shocker for everyone. Even for modern fans, I think someone like J Cole’s fans would be devastated if he was suddenly exposed for having ghostwriters. I would be if it was Kendrick not writing his own stuff. I’d still love the music but just wouldn’t respect their rapping ability like that.
I used to be on all that. Now I dont care. If one of his friends passed him a dope hook or verse or concept for a song that is a potential hit. Take it! It's the music business at the end of the day! He still King and Legend in my book 👑 It's so much fun not caring if he got an assist or not. He made ILLMATIC nuff said. He's solidified already.
100% anybody that says that don't care is coping. It's a fad term but it's true. To cope is to try to make excuses and come to terms with something you shouldn't just because of your love for said thing. If Nas has Ghost writers, he's fake, period based on the extent of it. Now, from a mature informed perspective, the music industry itself is full of ghost writers and back end talent you don't hear of both new and old-school and some of them become artist themselves. Neyo for example was a ghost writer from R&B artist but then got into it himself. The issue with Hip hop and Ghost writing is that it is expected that YOU rap YOURSELF and nobody assist you and that you are being authentic. Assisting is not unrealistic assistance for example if someone says hey you said this, why not this? or perhaps your homebody in the studio gives you a better flow than you were trying to make on a track, that stuff is fine. What's not fine is if people out here writing your whole song, your hits and singles building you up and supporters are thinking it's 90% you. A true Ghost writer will write so well they are leaned on hard so they are making up most of the lyrical body of work. To say it doesn't matter is dismissive and I can't really take anybody serious saying that. There's room for assistance in rap, but not whole ghost writers while pretending to be 100% authentic, that's not respected and everybody knows that which is WHY artist don't tell anybody. If it was ok, everybody that has writers would say it. Not saying it is called a lie of omission.
Cool. Agreed.. But Quentin Miller didn't ghost write for Nas. He confirmed it himself recently. He only helped him on one KD2 song via the credits. This is fake rumors made by internet people.
@@drjonesey5 Man, I said what I said. Again I really don't care that much. I would say it if I did. It's music/art it's important but a necessity for life. Not that serious. Appreciate the dialog and your opinion. But again it don't matter to me. I'll still listen to the ART.
Who truly believes that Nas has ghostwriters? Even his haters don’t believe that. Quentin Miller said he “worked with Nas”. He didn’t say that he “wrote for Nas”. This is another attempt to discredit him. Why is this becoming a topic nearly a year and half AFTER the release of the album? The same credit has been there the entire time. It’s because they want to take attention off of KDIII and how dope the album is.
I'm a NAS supporter and he a Legend. No one believes it and it's dead. Beliefs aren't facts though. However check the Jay Electronica and M1 story. They wrote for Nas before, and NO problem for me. Go dig bro. KD3 Fire I got on order. Nas 👑 all day writers, assist, help or not. Don't matter to me.
@@KUTProductionz Jay Electronica came out and stated “Nas is a legend who never has, and never will, need help writing lyrics” back in ‘08-09 timeframe when Untitled came out. Jay Elec produced ‘Queens Get the Money’ which was the first track on that album.
Personally as a day 1 Nas fan since 'Back To The Grill Again' to KD3. I don't care if he gets a verse or an idea to make a song or a project dope. I used to care now I dont. He made ILLMATIC 👑 which is still better than 90 percent of what gets released today. He's earned the right to sit back and get a songs or an idea from a friend if it works- No problem. That's what the king should do 👑 This is not a popular opinion I know.
"I'm from the murder capital where they murder for capital" we saw the footage of Kanye spitting that to him in the studio but what does that mean? I Jay not one of the greatest writters of all time? 10 words don't equal a song and damn show not an album and Diggiddy DAMN SURe don't Make a legacy like Jay or Nas. They just need something to talk about
More ghostwriter accusations against Nas? After the Jay Electronica and M1 tracks dropped showing they wrote all his lyrics on Untitled, it’s not very surprising.

Quentin Miller didn't ghost write for Nas. He made it abundantly clear recently. He only helped him on one KD2 song and it's even credited on the album. This is fake rumors made by internet people. I wish people did their research first.
Absolutely matters. I would immediately move him to another category of being an artist. I'd still enjoy his music, I just wouldn't feel like I could credit him for the lyrics. It wouldn't stop me from being a fan of his music, I just wouldn't see him in the same way and that would be okay. It's just a higher standard. edit: TO BE CLEAR, I didn't even for a second think that QM ghostwrote for Nas. But yes it would matter to me in the way I consider him.
Word I feel you. I think N has done enough and is solidified either way. Dude probably collabed enough to get credit and publishing. Whole verse probably not. I was just wondering what others thought on it. Appreciate you.

That's blasphemy man. Nas don't need the money. He don't need the accolades. He ain't gonna put out something just to put it out, if he ain't believe in it or didn't have his soul behind it (meaning HE wrote it). For some artists, they're sold on the total package. It's not about who wrote what part. It's about the overall end result. Kanye, Drake, and so on. Nas is different. There is a certain class of Emcee that Nas belongs to. It's comparable to stand up comedy in some ways. At an award show, everyone knows Chris Rock's set will have a team of writers behind it. But when I see him on his tour I expect that he wrote everything. The kind of rap Nas makes and his legacy... so much of it is so powerful because you know he wrote it. Idk how else to explain it. If you got a writer then cool, make your bread. But Nas is a top 5 DOA lyricist. You can't be top 5 with a writer. Because then you aren't an Emcee or a lyricist. You're a rap performer. Which is cool. But it ain't Nas. Nas, Jadakiss, Hov, Ghostface, and people like that can write for OTHER Emcees.... but they got too much pride and respect for the art to have a ghostwriter. That's like letting somebody else smash your wife but she blindfold and you pretending it's you. Nah nah nah man.
Love your passion. But I really don't care if he had one. He's still a great legend in my book with or without a writer. He made ILLMATIC 👑. Hopefully you watched the whole video. At the end of the day. We'll never know for sure. It's the music business and people want the BEST work to come out! Would you turn down a dope verse, song, concept or idea from say, Jay Electronica that could possibly help the project. Maybe you will maybe you won't. But it's business at the end of the day and you want the BEST to come out. Im not saying he did or didn't. I just don't care that much anymore.
