85-86 is the MTV-era I’m most nostalgic for. We’d just gotten it in the spring of ‘85 & I watched non-stop for a year. Amazing time for pop-music.
1981 to the mid 1990s was my era of MTV. Overabundance of Realty TV and the change in the music scene turned me off of MTV.
I just love watching the chilled flow of the 80s MTV design. These videos are so great to watch!
Back when watching TV was exciting!
The MTV "smokey clouds" logo right in the beginning is the same logo I used to create my own MTV cutout back in 1985. I had it on my refrigerator.
16:04. Interesting story about that party house in Bloomington. Unbeknownst to MTV, the original house chosen was actually on a toxic waste site, so this house shown was the alternate. The winner of the contest sold the pink house afterwards.
That John Fogerty song is still FIRE! What a cool song, still to this day.
Thanks for posting but the date of 1/25/85 is incorrect. That was a Friday and Nina clearly says “tomorrow” for The Cars world premiere which happened on a Wednesday. That means this was broadcast on Tuesday, 1/15/85.
Thanks
Do you have vh1 classic first broadcast from the summer of 2000,and vh1 broadcast from 1994-2003
if so can you upload those please,it would be great.
If I could find it online
6:52. Wow! I haven't seen that Pee Wee Herman EBS skit since 85!
I try and have an open mind that today's generations views TikTok like someone like me viewed MTV. But sorry to the younger generation... it's still not the same
Some of these ppl I never heard of lol
You know you can just cut out the videos
NO SOUND!!
Couple reasons...I got this from Archive and some videos are muted because of copyright
