Kinda sad how the going out of business commercial is so enthusiastic. It’s not like “well guys, we’ll miss you.” It’s “SUPER CHEAP STUFF GET IT BEFORE WE’RE GONE FOREVERRRRRR” lol great video Wallie!
That was so cool when you ended up in yet another large room and exited only to find out you were standing in a walled off Waldenbooks. Its crazy how interconnected malls are.
@@dvferyance No he's right, there was a Herbergers in this mall. If you type in Herbergers Bloomington MN, it should take you over to the mall. You should see the street view picture at the bottom right after typing it in. Then, go ahead and tap on it, stay where you're at, and don't go anywhere. After tapping on the street view picture, press See More Dates, and press 2016. After you pressed 2016, you see the Herbergers sign with a rose flower. Go up to the sign and see for yourself.
Hi Wallie Was that store originally AMAs store?? Kind of looks like one. In Lockport our AMAs store became BONTON of course and it survived the tear down of the rest of Lockport Mall. It is now a storage place and offices.
Totally awesome video. I was also amazed that it used to be part of a mall and that you could still read the sign for Walden Books. I often wonder when stores, restaurants, etc. are closed and abandoned. Who pays the bills to still have the lights and water on?
Waldenbooks was a neat find. It would have been interesting if the cash registers still worked. A few of their last transactions could have been frozen in time. I also find it strange that part of the store is tore up and a part of the store with some work could be up and running again. I might have been tempted to flip a few of those breakers that were in that changing room to see how many more lights came on (maybe the jewelry counters would light again).
That's honestly crazy you think what the HVAC and power being on that there would be minimal ceiling damage yet there is ceiling tiles falling in all over that's insane!!!
Problem is homeless people would turn that place into a drugged out violence/rape den in matter of days. Not all homeless are like that but most are unfortunately.
When you pass by those loose hanging electrical conduits, does that scene from Poltergeist ever come to mind when the family was attacked by a live one in their garage?
This was awesome. And awesome stumble upon that Waldenbooks facade. Amazing how that was jus simply tied together. I have a guess as to which mall/bon ton this was but don't want to say in case I'm right. Don't want vandals getting to it. Dunno if you know or not wallie but the Phillipsburg Mall in Phillipsburg, NJ is currently being tore down. Last I heard it was about half done. Miss not seeing ya at sheetz in Nebo. (Drive thru) Have a good one!!
I don't understand why companies don't at least try to repurpose some of the items left behind, like selling to small business owners for a write off or donate to nonprofits or schoolsgu. Getting something is better than getting nothing. I just hate seeing waste like that. That's a shame.
To make this sound even crazyer to me, I never shop at Bon Ton sadly I will never ever will because of all store being closed but back in 2018 was year when I graduated from home school and I was in High School when I was being home School around that time and for me is hard believe that Bon Ton went out of businesses on same year when I graduated from Home School what odds of that happened for me
I did a video at the Washington location during liquidation. Of course my filming skills were cringe, I was able to document that store before it closed for good.
@@WallieB26 I may have missed that one. I'll go back to it! Seems familiar though. If I saw it, I'll watch again! I'm actually using a blanket ( A Christmas Story one) right now that I bought there.
I hope someday you are able to get back to the Uniontown Mall every so often they open up the old Bon-Ton for a little bit of a flea market but I heard that malls on its last legs in century III malls being riped down

8:57 - I would be taking those CRT tv sets! Great for playing old school video games.
nice! theres a herbergers near me that closed in the 2018 bankruptcy and is still abandoned to this day
Which one is that?

Never been inside a Bon Ton. Elder Beerman was the one I remember best. Great video Wallie!!

Why is the commercial so happy and upbeat💀

0:24 up to 40% off?! I expect a “going out of business” sale to be a MINIMUM of 75%! 😂
That was an old sign. It was up to about 90% last I remember
Love it when go inside abandon places it’s awesome😀
Awesome Wall
Very sad all these retailers going out of business
Because they not build by Public Transit (Tram, Trains and Buses) according to Adam Something.
That's honestly crazy you think what the HVAC and power being on that there would be minimal ceiling damage yet there is ceiling tiles falling in all over that's insane!!!
awesome as always wallie, and yikes they were $1,000,000,000 in debt ouch
Now just think the gubment gave away $90,000,000,000.00 to foreign countries Saturday😮🤬
That would be more creepy , if the overhead music - was still playing ( since the company shutdown )
I applied at the BonTon but never got a call back to come.help work the closing sale.
What a time capsule! It hasn't even been a decade and it's already in pretty rough shape. Great video, Wallie.
That waldenbooks store had been sitting there since 2011 😳😳
Holy crap- that’s sad. I loved bookstores . They shut em all down everywhere. What a world we live in now 😑
@@jerrysanders9101 I miss them too. Each bookstore chain was unique in their own way. Now all we have left is Barnes & Noble.
Great tour this building is done it would have a place great shelter for homeless people it’s needed

A city run one with strict rules it does work
All ready mold and only closed 6 years
And Have A Bon Ton Licious Day !
Very cool never been inside one. Glad you made it OK
Kudos to your UA-cam Channel, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍 It's sad to see Bon Ton go out of business.
What's really sad here is I'd seen a lot of stuff that could certainly be repurposed into other uses.
Yeah. My sister runs a merch booth at different events (I work with her), and several times I found myself thinking, 'She could use that display".
You know, I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what you blurred out.. curiosity took hold 😂
That’s sad they closed. Thanks for wallie for this amazing video. I enjoyed watching
Great job ♥️
When you pass by those loose hanging electrical conduits, does that scene from Poltergeist ever come to mind when the family was attacked by a live one in their garage?
Hopefully one day you can get inside the old bon ton at the now closed Chambersburg PA mall
Excellent video! Thank you for all the great content!
Cool.. always makes you wonder what the place looked like back in the back areas when it was in full swing?? Holy smokes.. great vid Wally 🎉
That is one store I never have been in 😮
Same

I'm always anticipating a jump scare
Nice New Video How was your Weekend so Far
Hope you are well Wallie
Great find there. I explored an Elder Beerman that closed before the company did awhile ago. It was definitely surreal.
This brings back memories of working at Elder Beerman. Thanks for sharing!

It sucks that you have to put a disclaimer on your videos. People can’t keep everything nice so others can see it if they want. Nice video again.👍👍👍

Not surprised. There won’t be much left after the great “bidenomics” is over 😂

Thank you Wallie 😊
Try Sears Mall of america. Every entrance is sealed.

That was wild.
Is this going to get demolished with the rest of the mall ?

Those POS (Point Of Sale) registers are worth 1500 to 2000 a piece.
I.worked at wearhouse bon ton west Jefferson Ohio ,in 2015
That place needed a fresh coat of paint 5 years ago.
Is this part of a mall? Seems in decent shape and power.
Surprised people aren’t squatting here
