There are no words in the any language that can do the greatness of this performance justice. Wow will have to do. I knew Emmanuel was great but didnt know he was THAT great.
What a fantastic arrangement, and so well sung! Congrats to the entire ensemble. And that's a low Db on the closing chord the low basses get to rumble around on. It's so much fun to lay those out like these guys. Well done.

I think the notes are f-a flat-c-e flat-f-b flat. So it's f minor with the 11th. I think what makes this chord so magical is that it's very rich in the lower registers and the 11th is placed in a high register which makes it sound almost like a natural overtone.. And if you go by the harmonic progression it's a deceptive cadence (love it!). The chromatic voice leading adds to the beauty.:)
@@runa4723 Your notes seem to work, though I don't hear the F as the root for some reason. I think maybe I'm expecting an Ab chord, and I'm used to 6/9 chords. Also, maybe the bottom F is quieter in my speakers.
@@ZipplyZane The basses are singing a chromatic line (E-F), that's probably why I identified it as the root...But on the chord before the upbeat they sing one octave higher. So maybe that is, why it's a bit more difficult to hear and why the chord comes as a surprise.

I’m not trying to sound stupid at all… but is that uncommon to have a bass who can sing that?? I can hit that no problem and have been able to since I was 17 (I’m 41 now). And in pretty much every choir I’ve been in, I haven’t been the only one!
This was spectacular. It's a shame so many Scandinavians are atheists. I don't understand how you could not believe in God after seeing stuff like this.
I am one of those Scandinavian atheists and even though I don't believe in God, I thoroughly enjoy and respect all the great traditions, architecture and art made in his name.
Amazing performance amazing chorus. Everything was in balance understated at first so there was someplace to go to build it. The blend was spot on and the dynamics were thrilling. This arrangement it’s incredible and this crew did it justice. The people who heard this live that day we’re fortunate indeed. Again, one should never sing louder than what is lovely! And this was perfect to me all the right ingredients and if their proper measure. A very polished delivery which as any singer knows does not happen on its own but requires hours of work perfecting the components. Bravo 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
