@@normannjnj it's all on her mind I swear. There are moments where her voice transports to another eras. I'm not denying her voice maturing with age, but her flexibility and the way she dodges some notes is all on her mind
I would really love to see her make records like this again. she’s had years and years of successful pop radio hits, now it’s time to get back to that soul that started it all on those first two records❤️❤️
It’s not like it was then. She was apart of a golden age that hadn’t yet had the internet or social media. No one could just sell 30 million records anymore.
She’s always had soulful records after this. You’re obviously not a real fan if you think the soul & conviction has left her music

I grew up listening to Mariah, young Mariah. Back then, we all were young and strong! I have aged, all of us have, too, Mariah has, too! This performance brought tears to my eyes, I just remembered mom, being at home, listening to Mariah on the radio. Thank you Mariah for every single lyric you have shared with us. The sentiment you transmit is simply unique. God bless you.
Her tone on those lower notes are so good. I was just listening to a live version from the 90s and she does this part with a rounder/fuller sound now 2:36

No disrespect, but no she does not. Her voice is so beat up now. She can’t hold notes, she’s very breathy, changed the keys because she no longer can hit high notes with ease. I love her music very much but she isn’t the same vocally.
@@mrdanielaiello I agree but she has some peaks in her voice in recent performances.. she’s been singing with nodules since childhood and as she ages so does her voice from drinking and childbirth but I think if she underwent vocal training for the current state of her voice she could please her fans and she has to sing in lower keys that aren’t so demanding
@@justinsenior8264 perfectly said! 2020 alone prove Mariah still has it. She was on fire every performance. She needs to get a vocal coach that helps her sing around her nodules while preserving her voice. Rest and stop touring so damn much.

I think so. Normally when she lipsynchs, the volume of the lipped parts would sound thinner or lighter in tone, unlike the live parts which often sound fuller and raspy similar to her speaking tone.

Yes it is, you can tell because it isn't as high anymore and less airy as well. Probably the few high notes she can continue to sing (and not just hit), the whole song was arranged for her to not go into the high ones, I guess she left them for the climax. Sounded great anyway.
