Water gilding of a wooden mascaron

Follow the traditional method of water gilding a woodcarved object. Its a technique that has changed a little over hundreds of years and a method still in use today. From the first layers of gesso until the final burnishing strokes with the agate stone tool, the gilding is being performed step by step.

surface the leaf was cut on is leather. you can buy it at gold leaf suppliers. the brush is also available there. just rub it on your hair and it will pick up the gold with static
