Hey Marlie, Jeffry here in Tulsa. Check out the bassist Carl Radle, who died much too young, but was a key figure behind the scenes of what is known as front porch music and the Tulsa sound. If he were alive at the time of this recording, he definitely would have had a place on that stage.

Astonishing. What the band may lack in charisma it makes up in sheer quality. In my (entirely uneducated) opinion this is the very best version of the very best song one of the very best songwriters of - at least - the past 50 years ever wrote. Thank you for posting this gem.
Darn rights the Man was an incredible song writer. Eric Clapton himself was just wickedly inspired by J.J Cale. These two geniuses up on stage together, just outright the best of the best. Of course who wrote Eric Clapton's big hits other than the man himself. Mr. J.J Cale. Now if I were a musician and were friends with either these two, I'd certainly want to be pickin a guitar on a front porch somewhere anywhere anytime anyday with these legends. I'd probably just sit back grab a cold drink and just hear these guys play what they play best.....incredible music! Mr. Eric Clapton, if you get a chance to read this, thanks for being a friend of J.J Cales. I can read it in these videos in your body language how much respect you had for each other on stage or in the studio. It must have been an honor to play beside him. Thanks, we're all grateful.

As old JJ Cale-Fan I like all his music, this special style and the rythmn ... In this live-concert he is giving all artists in his band a solopart. Thats so wonderful. My favorite is the MANDOLIN-Solo around 6:30 - 7:10 !!! Its because I'm a mandolin-player too. Mostly I stopp the video at 7:10 and scroll back to 6:30 with loud speakers on ...smile... JJ Cale since beginning 70th with me in my ears and soul ... R.I.P. JJ Cale! Thank you Christine for continuation of his life's work !!! 👏👍✌️
