That means this is "xiaomis", not the world's first phone available to the public to come with an under display camera. Also, the ZTE Axon 20 was the world's first "mass produced" phone to ever have an under display camera. This means it was the world's first phone with this tech to be sold to the public. ZTE didn't start this whole thing, they were just first to release a phone with an in-display camera to the public. Hope this clears things up a bit👍
The truth is No one cares 🙂 As long as it's a good quality hole punch camera phone on the corner (rather than on The middle ) But of course tech-world may take a likin to it otherwise it's of no practicality, maybe of little of practicality 🙂.
The camera is really not that bad, I've seen a lot worse front cam that are not even hidden under the screen. And it's totally better than the FOLD's UDC. MKBHD made a UDC test for FOLD and the results have a lot of ghosting, plus the lense is still a bit visible.
@@Unknownuserhtps yeah, they need to step up specially in the budget to mid range segments. Their A series are not marketable, compared to Redmi, Poco or even Realme's. Their too focus on the FOLD'S and FLIP'S and eliminated their Note lineups which I think was a wrong move. Plus they keep on following Apple's footsteps by removing the charger and other peripherals usually bundled in the box and stubbornly keeping the prices high. Even their flagship lineups are made of Glastic which eliminates that premium feeling you get from their older devices like the S10. When you spend around $700 up to a thousand bucks for a phone, you don't expect compromises, you expect the full package as you should be getting what you pay for, and that's where Xiaomi and other Chinese manufacturers excel at, their value-friendly devices.

Wait, what they've managed it's incredible, i didn't want to switch from my K20 pro because of seamless screen but it was painful to use now in 2020, this is worth switching to.
painful to use? understandable if your pop-up motor is defective, if you can't stand a standard refresh rate or if you want new android versions, but i have a k20 pro as well and it is still kicking like new. the SD855 still handles everything no problem and back cameras are very usable, A52 level at least. our selfie quality can't be much worse than the Mix 4's since it's the exact same sensor with no screen in front of it, though on the other hand image processing is outdated. i'm never switching back to a punch-hole or notch, though i'm also not upgrading until UDC tech is perfected, which should take at least another year (2 is a safer bet).
you should wait 3rd generation of udc camera phones, i believe they will be a little sharper, i kinda dont like the image being so soft, it looks like your lenses are dirty ( even tho its much much better and less visible than what happens with axon udc, its still here)
anyway i have a mi10 and i got used to the really really small punch hole, it just never gets in the way of anything, and the camera quality is pretty good (and i think as of now its the jack of all trades, i dont like my phone having moving parts or cheap looking front camera, or big notch/gotch/holes, this one js just soo small, if its for getting good image quality and display continuity i am for it)

Do not compare the mi mix4 as a competitor to the mi 11 ultra but rather as a technological showcase with a dorsal camera system a notch below the mi 11 ultra except perhaps in night shots where it could be on par but more grace to the algorithm that Xiaomi uses. We enter the next gen at the level of the punch missing from the screen and all this for an incredible price. This mi mix4 is a real showcase that will attract customers to Xiaomi in order to prepare for the future quite simply with the future mi12. Cheers from France
The selfie camera is the weakest on all 3 camera's that we usually use, and compromising it just for a seamless and undistracted display when we usually forget that there is a punch hole in a traditional smartphone after a week of using is something that im not sold yet. Maybe the 2022 udc is the one to go for. Kudos to Xiaomi thou it is a lot better than Samsung's udc implementation.
Ok I'm not paranoid or a big fan of conspiracy theories, but I think we should be a little worried about the privacy concerns of UDCs. not only on phones but in general.
Congratulations !! Great one, again !! LIKE ! When analyzing this phone, we must not omit the fact officially declared by Xiaomi: Mi Mix 4 is not a camera phone, especially selfie phone. On the other hand, in my opinion, I still notice stupid comments like that selfie photos are poor, that he doesn't take selfie photos at the level of ...... other phones. Given that Mix 4 has this new technology implemented (camera under panel) the results are very good. Why? Firstly, the quality is above Samsung Fold 3 and secondly, the technical innovation from Xiaomi is clearly better than the one from Samsung. In Mix 4 you don't see flicker on the screen, no matter how much you move the phone, compared to Fold 3. But that's another discussion, there are two different classes of phones that address different customers. It would be interesting to see how the other technical innovation handles in practice: UWB. Maybe Nick has time to check it out in real time and tell us his impressions of it.
Mi Mix 4 is not for those who take selfie a lot, in the Mix 4 launch event Xiaomi's CEO suggested customers to buy other series if they have high demand on selfie. This is just the first UDC phone of Xiaomi, surely the image shoot by the front camera will be improved on the next Mix generation.
No disrespect meant to any other UA-camrs, but finally a proper unboxing and initial review of this innovative and more affordable flagship. Front camera pictures look good mostly. Certainly acceptable for a less than $800 phone with this newer tech. Front camera looks virtually unnoticeable. Something neither ZTE or the Samsung Z Fold 3 can say. Xiaomi is trying to take over for real.
The more companies try this tech out / try out new trends the better for us. First some smaller companies tried the very first underdisplay cameras, soon after more smaller companies followed, then Samsung made the Z fold 3 with the underdisplay camera , and now Xiaomi. This is becoming a reality people!
Wtf? It's weird there is a cut out for the selfie camera on the screen protector? Dude. No screen protector ever has gone over the selfie camera whether it's a notch or a holepunch. It would reduce clarity and probably make the image blurry.
Stunning as this is, do we really need such thin bezels? My phone doesn't have the smallest of bezels on the chin, but I still get accidental touches, and even more on the top side, where the display is almost to the edge.
finally! the mi mix2 s was big bomb ceramic back powerfull cpu other stuff it was asstonoshing at its release and now this baby even better but ceramic back i love it...
I wonder how good the (rear) cameras are. I own the mi 9, and I like the performance and everything, but I was never really happy with the camera quality/ processing.

@@ataparag232 The Chinese version has been greatly optimized for the bottom layer, and the experience is great, he is coming soon.
I have been waiting for this video thanks bro
Still a whole better than the Z Fold 3. Samsung doesn't even come close, it's more like the Axon 20
True.. Xiaomi is on 🔥🔥🔥
lol, was a joke 🤣
Looking forward to when this under display camera tech is fully matured and ready for flagship implementation
Best review ive seen so far. No bullshit talk just to make a 10min. video
You are amazing one day u will be the world top tech youtuber
No disrespect meant to any other UA-camrs, but finally a proper unboxing and initial review of this innovative and more affordable flagship. Front camera pictures look good mostly. Certainly acceptable for a less than $800 phone with this newer tech. Front camera looks virtually unnoticeable. Something neither ZTE or the Samsung Z Fold 3 can say. Xiaomi is trying to take over for real.
Innovative technology 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Congratulations for the 1.2 M views
Thanks for bring it so soon. You Rock! Waiting for MI PAD 5 PRO REVIEW
Hello
Mi mix 4 vs mi 11 ultra ? Gaming , camera , speed and everything else?
How about quality selfie camera on this phone. It's good or bad.
That hidden selfie camera is truly... hidden. Very impressive!
This is the next xiaomi phone since my mi 9 served me soooo well! This is next level unique
I want to know which company is the display supplied from Samsung or BOE?also what do you do in China ?
TCL CSOT
Hoping for a global release! This will be a significant upgrade from my Mi 9T Pro.
Wait for mix 5 with Leica even better
Stunning as this is, do we really need such thin bezels? My phone doesn't have the smallest of bezels on the chin, but I still get accidental touches, and even more on the top side, where the display is almost to the edge.
finally! the mi mix2 s was big bomb ceramic back powerfull cpu other stuff it was asstonoshing at its release and now this baby even better but ceramic back i love it...
Do all Mix 4 sold in China come with Google Play preinstalled?
Pls can u make versus between mi mix 4 and mi 11?
Most underrated tech youtuber

Mi mix 4 in white ceramic definitely worth getting and the under display camera on this looks best so far
Can't wait for this tech to improve more and trickle down to mid range phones.
Mostttttt underrated tech channel in the universe
From where you purchased it
whats the benchmark score ?
Hello from France. This review is very detailed. Thank you!
Nick : talks about it
watches : Yes yes OFc 🤔🤷🏻♂️
As someone who doesn't take selfies, this is very appealing to me
such innovative phone
still come with accessories while cheaper than Galaxy S and iPhone
is MI MIX 4 mini be released? ty
I wonder how good the (rear) cameras are. I own the mi 9, and I like the performance and everything, but I was never really happy with the camera quality/ processing.
