I love fashion dolls and I believe that dolls are the best toys for people to improve empathy and to explore their creativity! I love "Our Generation", I prefer them over American Girl, and even as a older collector I barely notice a difference in the quality. One time I completely splurged and spent like $130 on Our Generation stuff... I have to keep my OG dolls away from my AG dolls cause I don't want my AG dolls to get jealous over the extreme amount of OG stuff I have 😂
Love that that you keep your AG and OG dolls separated for that reason. I would so do that lol.
Lol! I love them both but my og dolls hair comes out and stuff.
For the longest time I was one of the crazy AG collectors who refused to look at any other doll brand apart from the outfits. I bought a OG doll to be a character from a tv series not wanting to spend a lot to have a doll of that character. From that time on I fell so much in love with the brand and dolls, I love the rooted hair so so much more, AG hair gets dry and is super hard to brush no matter how well you care for it, andI also love how diverse Our Generation are. I have four now and one coming I just ordered. I haven't looked at AG much in a few years, they are getting much worst quality for the same price so I have being focusing on OG recently.
Do you know if your OG's clothes can fit AG and vise versa?

I love your ice cream truck story. My daughter got the ice cream truck for Christmas. Santa had no idea the size! 😜 She’s announced that she needs the food truck too. We might have to move to a bigger house!!!

I have two OG and one AG dolls (all second hand) I buy the clothes for my american girl doll too. I just wish they wouldn't scent things as having sensory issues for example the smell of popcorn makes me sick. I get migraines easily so certain smells and sounds Make them worse. This affects my autism as well. I love how cute they are though.

I love how each Our Generation dolls all come with an outfit and sometimes items and their items are more detailed and more higher quality then American girl sometimes. The pickic table is only like 30 I think? At AG it would cost like $120.
I'm obsessed with Our Generation dolls and accessories, the quality is amazing for what you pay for! I've rescued several of these from thrift stores and they always clean up nicely! And the hair quality is wonderful also :)
The dolls are super cute I used to own two our generation dolls but I donated both I miss them their names were Alexis and Sonny. Alexis was a babysitter so she came with a small baby, a baby bottle, a rattle, a diaper bag, and a pretend lullaby cd which had an actual pretend disk. Over the years I sadly lost the accessories however I still have the bag. Sonny was a basic doll she was spring themed so she came with a purple flowered dress, with purple rain boots, and a purple sweater, and a purple purse I still own the dress, the sweater, and the purse I have no idea where the boots went. But I’ve been trying to find them second hand but have had zero luck.
OG and Glitter Girls are very cute
My dream would be to set up a play place where kids can come and play with their dolls. Each room would be set up with play sets that allow them to use their imagination. Theatre sets for their dolls to act, sing or dance. Travel sets, spa sets, etc. I would love to have donated refurbished dolls to give out to any child who comes and does not have their own. Offer birthday parties where we would craft miniatures for their dolls or classes where they can learn to sew for their dolls. Even hair design classes so they can learn to braid, etc. maybe in my retirement.

I love OG and have been collecting for a while. I have been very disapointed with the new main face mold though. It looks too serious and not as optimistic and cute as the other female face molds in the line look to me. The classic mold is just so adorable and innocent. The boy mold is okay, but still a bit odd with the more narrow face and smaller eyes when put next to any of the girl face molds. The Melina and Lake molds are the prettiest and most unique molds (and the Melina one gives me strong Asian vibes), but they are rarely used, unfortunately. Its just hard to get used to a company you have respect for suddenly using your least favorite face mold on all the new dolls. I'm so glad I picked up the dolls I really wanted in the before they started doing that. My favorites are probably Sabina and Sia, as I relate to both their themes (art and science) and their phenotype of green eyes and vibrant red-orange hair is breathtakingly beautiful to me (they are canonically identical twins). Kaye is another adorable redhead in the line and the Lake face mold is adorable on her. My first OG doll was Kendra, because I needed a doll with a babydoll-like face and red hair and blue eyes for a custom of a Creepypasta character I really like (Pirate Percy from Candle Cove of anyone is curious). Since then, I have cut the hair on the doll down to shoulder-length, and renamed him after Percy and he (can dolls even be transgender? In my headcannon, the doll is now now male since the character is male) has become a good friend whenever I get lonely (I'm an Aspie and my dolls are like my friends sometimes. My favorites often end up as comfort objects. Especially if they represent one of my comfort characters, as Pirate Percy is very much a comfort character for me.). And the playsets and acessories are simply impressive for their price point. I still find it amazing how many OG playsets and accessory sets come with more stuff than the overpriced AG equivalent sets. Sure they have more plastic in them, but with all that you're getting, it's worth it to me. But that's my overall opinion on the OG line.

the dolls look so much better now!! I never liked the actual dolls but what me and my mom did is we had the actual American girl dolls but we would buy the our generation clothes and play sets. It worked out great!!
I used to collect AG dolls. The newer ones have nicer face molds.
