Are the other tracks being side chained when you play the kick? Or how does the music gets down behind the kick when playing live? Do you have a soundboard behind and how does it get compressed? How does it sound like it is already mixed and not muddy when you are playing live?
This is an old video. The new one I take different audio source and I mix them in post. Stereo field mic, and a line output, much cleaner. Than master using some great plugin compressors. Kick start sucking the sound. But live in obtain the same result by pushing the analog mixer and sounds. Becouse my stages are all analogue it naturally saturates. In fact live is much better.
