I love this track it really focuses on more the Kirby side but at the same time it sounds like something that would be in a Mega-man game with the guitars
I feel like people always underestimate Kirby characters because of how bright and cutesy the franchise is on a surface level, but anyone even remotely familiar with the series will know that none of these characters are slouches in the power scaling department. One of the biggest examples being Meta Knight in Forgotten Lands, who was able to get through a good portion of the game SOLO before eventually stopping before facing Dedede. His fights with Galacta/Morpho Knight may not be canon to the main timeline, but the fact that in some timeline he was able to defeat the “Strongest Warrior in the Galaxy” in a 1v1 also says a lot about his skill.
Seeing this comment is surprising since Kirby's one of the few verses I've seen with a genuine reputation for being overpowered, I've never really seen anyone downplay that verse at all. I wonder what that's like.

First I was thinking “this seems familiar”. Then I understood Brandon went all nostalgic Meta Knight theme back to 1996 original Vs theme. Man I feel sooo old 🧓!
Restarting uni's been quite rough on me and my tiredness so I'll keep this one short (note that, after the fact, I really didn’t keep it short.) Zero VS Meta Knight is a MU I never really got the appeal of given I've never cared for either franchise, let alone characters but I do recognize its popularity so I found it certainly interesting that it "only" got a "standard" track duration/track art. However neither of those things really matter as long as the track is good. And in the end I'd say that the track certainly isn't bad but it suffers from Only One True Hero Syndrome (yes, OOTH isn't the first track to have it but it's the most notable in recent memory) where it has a solid main melody but most of its duration is this same exact melody put on loop with very little change which makes the track feel kind of redundant with itself and paradoxically not very memorable. This changes for the last third of the song starting at 2:18 but more on that in a bit. To elaborate on that I must emphasize that I don't think the main melody the song has is bad, in fact it's actually really nice and entertaining (I've heard that apparently it doesn't really fit either character but I don't know them enough to speak on that front nor do I really care to do so) but the issue is as said above: it's just repetitive with little change. Sure there's a couple breaks and slowdowns but unless if I don't have the timestamp under my eyes I couldn't tell you for the life of me *when* in the track each segment before 2:18 is because they're all so similar. Now it's not as prominent here as with OOTH because the aforementioned is the same for almost 100% as I stated in my review of it but this track still has the issue. However what redeems it at least partially (if "redeem" even is the right word given it's far from bad, just repetitive) is everything beyond 2:18 because damn that last third of the song sounds cool. It takes that solid main melody and actually shifts it into new and varied stuff that shifts into original and even more entertaining moments. Like I said, I'd be hard-pressed telling you when each moment prior to 2:18 is but I could absolutely tell you exactly when that 2:18 point passes even without having the timestamp visible because it's such a big shift in the song. The issue now being that this last third of the song feels like what the rest of the song should have been instead of its ending which results in the ending feeling somewhat anticlimactic. Kinda like "That's it ? Already ?" which normally would arguably be a good thing because you're left wanting more of the track but here it's somewhat of a problem as the track gives you a taste of what it could have been for its entire duration except it does so only for its last third. It's as if everything before 2:18 was an elongated intro to the "real" song which feels weird. Now don't get me wrong, at the end of the day it doesn't remove from the fact that everything beyond that sacred timestamp is really freaking enjoyable with a good mix of catchy and energetic movements that vary enough to not be redundant while still keeping true to the main melody the song introduced. It's just that it feels like it doesn't reach the maximum of its potential (and that's not to talk about how fitting of the characters the track is as said earlier because that's another debate I'm not willing to get into) which is a bummer as it's absolutely audible that this track has a great basis. Overall this song I wouldn't quite call "wasted potential" because I wouldn't know to begin with the potential of it as someone that's positively neutral on Mega Man OST and negatively neutral on Kirby OST but it's still very audible that it just didn't reach the upmost that it could have gotten at. Does that make it a bad song ? No, not at all. It's the perfect type of tracks to put on in a playlist and listen to while you're doing something else or when you just need some music to pass time without thinking too much about it because it's entertaining and enjoyable as long as you don't pay too much attention to it with a really good concluding third. However this also does not mean that it's perfect and while I'm sure many will think what I said to be madness which is respectable (to each their own opinion after all, I never claimed nor will I ever say that my own opinion is law), I still think it could have used its first two thirds being like what is now its last third with its actual last third being something even more grandiose and and powerful. Still, even with all this I wouldn't say this song is much lower in quality than Brandon's regular work because even if it has a distinct flaw, its writing is enjoyable and I honestly like it quite a bit despite its redundancy (but then again I also think Fateful Inncounter is a really good track even if just overly repetitive so maybe I'm just weird). Great work with this still.
Not a huge fan of the matchup, but this track sounds awesome, and at this point, Meta Knight is long overdue to make it onto DEATH BATTLE!, hopefully we get a Meta Knight matchup either this year or the next!

Odd one for you that I would love to here comments on: Astro Boy vs Danny Phantom - Spectrometric Phenomena. Looking through both series, neither have actually fought someone with the other abilities. The only time Danny fought a robot was in a Metal Naruto situation and Astro hasn't fought anyone who can phase before. Plus, being robotic, I don't know if Danny could actually possess him, especially if he's in a compilation that included the blue core from the 2009 movie. I don't know, I just think it would be fun. Meta Knight can move in a space without Time meaning he is incalculable and much, much faster than Zero. He’s stronger and more durable from simply scaling to Kirby. His Hax completely destroy Zero’s as Zero has no way to bypass invulnerability nor does he have resistance to mind control which is essentially what the friend hearts do. He gets absolutely obliterated before he can even think of attacking.

Meta knight. He has literally every advantage except for versatility which doesn’t help much when meta knight can survive all of Zero’s attacks pretty easily. He even has a way to heal himself, become temporarily invulnerable if necessary with the invincibility candy, can summon allies to help, has multiple swords in case galaxia is separated from him and he can’t get to it, and he can basically mind control Zero with the friend hearts. He completely obliterates Zero.
100% Meta Knight wins hyper easily, because Mega Man Zero can't beat Meta Knight and Kirby, Mega Man Zero has never beat Meta Knight on UA-cam. All Mega Man's fans are vote Meta Knight.
Meta Knight can also move, fight, and dodge in Another Dimension which is beyond space and time itself which means he’s incalculable in speed. Kirby can do the same and his warp star is millions upon millions of times faster than him. Meta knight has been shown to be able to keep up with Kirby’s warp star.
@@Starwarsfan1253 Depends on how fast Vegeta is. Vegeta is stronger but if he’s not fast enough, then he really can’t do much before he’s hit by a friend heart, which would render him unable to fight back against Meta Knight since allies in Star Allies never fight back, even if you kill them.

Honestly, as a big fan of both Zero and Meta Knight, I legit dislike this matchup. The connections, while there, do not feel great, and it's also a giant stomp in Meta Knight's favor, so I prefer looking for other matchups for both of them.

Odd one for you that I would love to here comments on: Astro Boy vs Danny Phantom - Spectrometric Phenomena. Looking through both series, neither have actually fought someone with the other abilities. The only time Danny fought a robot was in a Metal Naruto situation and Astro hasn't fought anyone who can phase before. Plus, being robotic, I don't know if Danny could actually possess him, especially if he's in a compilation that included the blue core from the 2009 movie. I don't know, I just think it would be fun. This is awesome I love Mega Man. Meta Knight doesn't stand a chance, this battle will be over in a nano second.
Meta Knight can move in a space without Time meaning he is incalculable and much, much faster than Zero. He’s stronger and more durable from simply scaling to Kirby. His Hax completely destroy Zero’s as Zero has no way to bypass invulnerability nor does he have resistance to mind control which is essentially what the friend hearts do. He gets absolutely obliterated before he can even think of attacking.

I’ve been wanting this matchup since I was in middle school. I don’t think it’ll ever happen because it’s probably a stomp in Meta Knight’s favor but I would still like to see it.

Meta knight. He has literally every advantage except for versatility which doesn’t help much when meta knight can survive all of Zero’s attacks pretty easily. He even has a way to heal himself, become temporarily invulnerable if necessary with the invincibility candy, can summon allies to help, has multiple swords in case galaxia is separated from him and he can’t get to it, and he can basically mind control Zero with the friend hearts. He completely obliterates Zero.
100% Meta Knight wins hyper easily, because Mega Man Zero can't beat Meta Knight and Kirby, Mega Man Zero has never beat Meta Knight on UA-cam. All Mega Man's fans are vote Meta Knight.

Meta Knight can also move, fight, and dodge in Another Dimension which is beyond space and time itself which means he’s incalculable in speed. Kirby can do the same and his warp star is millions upon millions of times faster than him. Meta knight has been shown to be able to keep up with Kirby’s warp star.

@@Starwarsfan1253 Depends on how fast Vegeta is. Vegeta is stronger but if he’s not fast enough, then he really can’t do much before he’s hit by a friend heart, which would render him unable to fight back against Meta Knight since allies in Star Allies never fight back, even if you kill them.
