I was the pika player here. Definitely good commentary. I actually had some really really good games before finals that I wish were caught. I had a hard bracket getting into the finals.
@@Randomwayz yes you did!!! I mentioned it in my meta report video. I expected a good amount of pika in on top 32 but to see several make into top 4 was wild!!! Great games man congratulations!!! ❤️
16:10 He might have wanted to bet on Mew if he was worried about the Sabrina play. He could have switched in Mewtwo, hit Zapdos, and then next turn Pika could have came in and Sabrina’d. Mewtwo would have to switch in Gardevoir, taking 90 damage. If Mewtwo player didn’t have Leaf in hand, the he couldn’t get Gardevoir out without losing energy, and he didn’t have any to spare. Now Gardevoir’s got 20 health on the Bench, and Zebstrika can move in for the kill. Only Leaf could have changed this outcome for the Mewtwo player. Hoping for the Mew to hit 3 heads might have been the only option.
When playing Mewtwo Ex deck, always bank on your Mewtwo Ex when available rather than copy an RNG attack ability like Zapdos Ex or Celebi Ex. The Mewtwo Ex fumbled that game 2. Your commentary on Mewtwo Ex gameplay is spot on.
I’d argue in game two the best chance the mewtwo player had was to try and flip 3 heads with the mew/zapdos attack. If he retreats mew, and hits zapdos for 50 with mewtwo, then the next two turns the pikachu player uses electabuzz and zebstrika to complete the 70 damage to mew. Electabuzz could have come out first, hit mew for 40 (bringing him to 30) and then mewtwo kills electabuzz (only putting mewtwo at 2 victory points) and then zebstrika finishes the game. I’d argue that the mewtwo player made the right call vs the other play of retreating Mew and dying in two turns anyway. All these people sort of dunking on the mewtwo player because that was how he played the final, he took the long shot 25% play rather than the 0% play that would have come had he retreated. Also for what it’s worth @pocketmads I’ve enjoyed your videos. Thanks man.
I don't disagree! I think had he made a few different moves early in the match - he could have been in a different position, but hindsight is 20/20 (: I appreciate the support! Thanks for tuning in!!!
Mewtwo player in the second game probably shouldn't have rotated in Mewtwo for the attack. He should have built up Gardevoir to knockout the Deende instead of leaving the Mewtwo vulnerable.
Should have stalled to build up a second gardavoir, any card that takes out the hard get revenge killed by mewtwo and nothing on pika side can one shot so mewtwo would just steam roll, no point risking getting one shot by zapdos
Figured it would be fun to watch back the finals match and see what we could breakdown from the matchup!!! Like & Sub (:

Electabuzz over second Zapdos, you recommend?
@@Mdelrosario17 1 Play the elezba line with 2x Pikachu Ex, 1 dedenne, 1x elebuzz, 2x zapdos.
Is this a good line-up?

Certainly some tricky situations for the mewtwo player. But it’s very easy to make simple mistakes!

Shame on the Mewtwo player for conceding in a tournament finals. At least let the victory play out.

Thank you for explaining the process, honestly didn’t know why dende was important for this deck but now it makes sense
Are the results posted somewhere? Thanks for posting the video by the way. I just subscribed too.

About 2nd game, that's not how you play in finals. Completely bottled it.
