Ooooh. Sorry guys I wasn't sold on this one. I was expecting a really straight forward method to [1] what are the discrete priorities, [2] their rationale on why they feel its a priority, then [3] layout the benefits in why this prioritization makes sense. That's it! If what I just saw is the standard, I guess I need to get a better grasp on prioritization. Nothing negative meant toward the mock-up at all. I searched out this topic because I am NOT an expert on this and wanted to learn great techniques. It just didn't give me what I expected. By no means am I saying I could do it better. Given that I am the only one that commented with question, obviously that says I need to get a better grasp on this.
To the last question about High effort, high impact versus medium impact and low effort, I think it would be a good idea to understand the features impact towards the north star metric in the given time line. If the high effort feature cannot be delivered within the timeline but drives more impact towards the OKR, a stakeholder meeting could be called for, to draw a conclusion.

@@tryexponent thanks, it works now.
Wow, that was amazing! I just loved it. Way more deeper than reading about it online.
Love Cherrie for these mock interviews! Thanks
Awesome interview. Thanks for sharing 👏😀
Amazing mock interview
I agree with everything the interviewee was saying about the difficulty associated with prioritizing in this context, but this video didn't even end with a concrete answers to the question.
Really good!
Nice !
Sweet
I think the mistake here was not asking enough questions. I would want a PM to start by many more clarifying questions.
I dont think she answered this question well.. It was so far from concise. I would answer by first asking clarifying questions to better understand the product, its mission and the current business objectives. Then from there I would brainstorm a few features and prioritize them using the rice framework. After that I would summarize a provide my solution. Instead she spends the first 5 minutes babbling about how the oculus is hard to put on...
Hi Jonathan! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Your plan to answer the question sounds good!
Too much fluff
I was expecting some kind of techniques for Prioritisation being named like moscow, 100 dollar etc.
The framework she's using is a simplified RICE framework in my opinion
The interviewer was so unengaged. I wouldn't work for him. She was really giving a lot and he was very dry and not engaging back.
Well that's how most interviewers are, considering they conduct 5-6 interviews everyday.
@@tommynguyen6399 I do PM interviews for a big tech company and we do not do that all day. We aren't HR.
So, some onus on the interviewee too. Part of our job is to also ask clarifying questions. Cherrie did not really give him that opportunity.
Lol this is just a long way of saying it depends
I am starting to dislike "PM interviews" and the growing cookie-cutter industry that let's anyone memorize their framework and process to get a job. So many intangibles in a real-world that many schools cannot prepare you for unless you dipped your toes. Highly suggest trying your "learnings" on your own startup idea first to get a true "guerrilla warfare" PM experience.
its gatekeeping at its best to justify startups like exponent existing and charging you money. All one needs to do is ask Cherrie how she prioritized her own roadmap at Google and likewise for any candidate. the PM interview has turned into a toxic MBA/shitty consultant turned product mgr circle jerk.
