In case people weren't aware, if you select the games on the list in hackchi or selecting all of them, you can right click and download all the box art. It takes a while and it grabs the first image from the google search but it makes it a lot easier.

Just a little note I would recommend to use 45 items per page anymore you will get a lot of C8 errors and as others have stated only use Hakchi C.E ( Community Edition ) I even used the H C.E on my new NES classic. You can do so much with these I added a HD to mine and put about 1500+ PSX games + all other systems.

That's crazy because I didn't have any issues modding my 2018 NES edition. I used Hackchi 2.21f
Would love a guide on how to add a complete NES & SNES library to it, possibly using otg adapter and flash drive. I have seen where when you open the NES folder it can change to the standard NES theme and when SNES, the SNES theme (and/or famicom, sfc, snes EU). could be the ultimate all in one nintendo emulation station.
I really need to do this to my SNES classic and NES classic, if only to get that down and select reset! 😂👍🏻

Let's say you would want to add more games in the future.. Would only the original games show up in hakchi? Mine are on usb... Do the games need to be in hakchi games folder to show up in hakchi? Don't want to overite or add the same game twice.

@madlittlepixel You mentioned at the end of this video you ‘double booted’ your SNES. Do you have a tutorial video for that hack?
If I did choose to hack either of my Classic Editions, I'd be more interested in adding Game Genie/Pro Action Replay cheat support than just adding more ROMs
can you make a usb mod for snes n nes classic how to add games to them
There's a mod kit out there today, that allows you to solder a small chip on the main board, which then connects to a circuit tape, onto an actual SD card reader. Then you can add your own SD card, to further expand on the memory. I think it's called SNES Mini Super Memory, if I remember correctly. If you're any good at soldering (which honestly isn't that hard, if you have careful hands to work with), I'd go for that. Google it, as I don't remember the site name, however there is a UA-cam tutorial available today.
I have it plugged in but it won't let me get past the kernel part, keeps saying error!!
It is recommended by Cluster himself that you use Hakchi2 CE instead as it is much better and more stable.
Is that still true since he released new version?

When I tried using my 2018 NES Classic with the regular Hakchi2, it kept failing because it registered as a Super Famicom Classic. So I had no choice but to use the CE version of Hakchi, and everything went smoothly. I still have the regular Hakchi2 on my SNES Classic.

haha knowing my luck, I would totally delete everything and screw up all the programming somehow... and then be left with a useless but nice looking plastic box 😆
using hakchi 2.31 on the 2018 nes classic mini, it all works,
except the google search function for cover art, which just stays blank....
so i had to add covers manually for each game.
all the games played, but the button for using save slots, changed to B instead of Y.
Hey I know this fairly old so hopefully you reply back to me. I had a few questions, one being can you remove any of the pre-loaded Games or move them into a folder 📂 🤔 So that I don't have to look at the ones I don't like on the NES and I'd like to organize the games how I'd like so that my favorite ones are on the main screen and the others are in a folder. I'd rather sort mine by recently played and such. Another question can there be a duplicate game on the console without it messing anything up because honestly the SMB3 preloaded game sounds weird in the world view board when navigating from stage to stage the movement doesn't sound the same and when you select a level to play it sounds off too and I have a NES emulator I'm using called Nestopia I've had for like 20 years. I have about 902 NES rooms that I got to play on it but obviously I won't put but another 60 games on the Nes mini. I just want to make sure the roms I have will work for adding an all.

Hello, I have a problem. Until now I can normally add games and play but when I installed new games I couldnt play any of my games. It just sending me back to the menu. I dont understand the problem. Please can you help me?
It's working great, except for the select, down reset configuration. I did it ok, the chekc in on and the configuration is good.

Can I use a laptop? I’m running windows 8.1 , 4 gb ram, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor? I have the 2018 nes classic. Every hack video I have seen says to use a pc. I know how to program fire alarm systems, security systems and install drivers for mixing boards but hacking not so good. Thanks for the video and your time.
Yes, you can use a laptop, a laptop is just a PC in a smaller box
When you add new games to the mini you can also add Game Genie codes. Can you add Game Genie codes to games already on there?

Hi I tried this last Saturday and instead of getting a list of all the games I got a pop up with a list written in Japanese. It said ' Import as Archive' as the only option. Any one tell me what went wrong please? I'd love to play Wizards and Warriors again :)

Hi MLP, after you hack the NES, do you find increased lag running games off retroarch versus the default canoe of the unhacked system? I'm worried about controller lag/latency.

Theo M most of that depends on the emulators and roms you use. Some settings can be adjusted in retroarch also to help.

Thanks for the feedback. Ya i have been using latency options in retroarch to skip a few frames on the raspberry pi 3. I guess what im asking is, as I understand the factory SNES classic uses canoe to run the games for best performance. However, when you hack the SNES with hackchi do all the games now use retroarch or do only the non canoe compatible games use retroarch?

Yes only non canoe will run retro
Version 2.3.1 dos not work on Nes 2018. Use version 3.4.x
Have you seen the games folder not be there? When I click add games there's either no games folder or no games in it...
Used the v.2.31 hakchi to flash my nes classic a few months ago. Everthing went fine, no problem. Trying to do the same thing with my friend's NES classic and getting stuck at the sync selected games. When I opened hakchi all the games/settings/artwork are already there just where I left them. I click on sync selected games and then turn on my NEX classis with reset button. I can install the driver and then hit enter, then it just sits there. and does nothing like the NES classic is not being recognized. Any ideas?
Just wondering, i added games to my nes all went well. When i went to play the games all the box arr was there but none of the games i added would run. Is there a specific file type for these to work? All my nes roms are .nes i believe. Please help.

Hi I already have a hacked nes mini using hakchi but i'm using a new computer, how can i continue adding games to the nes mini from a new computer when it already has been hacked?
So I’ve tired this several times and it worked on my SNES, but the ROM’s on my NES won’t play. There is no error, just a black screen then it returns back to the main menu. I’ve reflashed the original kernel and started over....

Several questions if someone could please answer them for me:
1. How much memory does the NES Classic Edition system have? I don't want to try and add too many games and cause it to have issues however I would like to ad a LOT of games!!!
2. Can I do this from a Mac, is there a program to allow this form a Apple MacBook?
3. Is there a Game Genie of ANY kind to be had or to add for this?
1. The ned classic can support every American released game. So 500 plus.
2. Theres is no hackchi for mac, but you can download a windows virtual machine(really easy to do) then run hackchi.exe in the vm.
3. If you go to ebay or Amazon, you can find modded nes, snes classics that have a usb mod where you can just move your roms to the usb.

So I flashed the custom kernal no problem, but now my pc won't detect that the NES is plugged in so i can't synchronize... thoughts?
So I re-flashed the original kernal and then tried it again. flashed the custom, and then i was able to sync. False alarm! :-) guess it was just a fluke thing. all is working now and i got the extra games on there.
how many games do you have total not including the OG games it came with... im only asking because when i disable pages/folders to show all the games on the menu it wont load any of the games for me... i only added nes games on my classic.... i got like 93 total not including the OG games the system comes with

Hey there, your video had been helpful in getting me started. I just want to add more nes games to my nes classic, and I managed it. But about the games that have the wrong mappers for the nes classic emulator to run them. How on earth do you get these working? I installed retroarch neo 1.7.4, and an nes emulator core, and hakchi shows them installed, but the games still don't work, and there's no apparent evidence when using the nes mini that those installed modules are even active.. (is there a controller button combo or something needed to boot retroarch? How does it work in the classic?)
To recap, I want to get the games with the other mappers working.. How does one do that? Thanks so much

"get up to reset the console", dude the gamepad cord is like 2 feet long, you can't be out of arms reach of the console.
derp... there are wireless controller options.... 8bitdo with receivers, nincade boards with 8bitdo or other bluetooth controllers.... many people are using the original controllers but a lot have switch to either cable extensions or wireless options.
@@Madlittlepixel what would you recommend if I planned to load up a couple N64 games as well? I've got a Wii classic controller around here somewhere if I can find what box I put it in, I suspect that would be the best for NES and SNES games
