Music has been used to influence people, not just black people, for decades. Entertainers and entertainment have been political tools for centuries. This is nothing new. I get your point about rappers and I agree with you there. I think that sometimes we as human beings tend not to be able to recognize that not everything that we see or have access to is for us. Sometimes while a message does not resonate with us, it resonates with someone else. That being said, I do agree with you that politicians need to stop using entertainment as a smokescreen to distract from the fact that they don't have concrete policies and ideals that align with the Black community and that a lot of the time, these politicians view the Black vote as an after-thought.

It's not unusual for people to hire entertainment to pump up a rally before the lead speaker comes out, and popular cultural figures to endorse the campaigns, politicians have been doing it for a while now, regardless of race. I don't get why we as black people have to victimize ourselves as if it's some targeted attack on our intelligence. They also had political leaders and thinkers there too, and they talked alot about policy. I feel like some people just don't appreciate the involvement of rappers in politics, and that speaks more about your own preferences than it does about the viability of their place there. They can and do play a vital role in activating low info voters who don't necessarily care about the politics, but do care about their favorite artists.

It's not unusual for people to hire entertainment to pump up a rally before the lead speaker comes out, and popular cultural figures to endorse the campaigns, politicians have been doing it for a while now, regardless of race. I don't get why we as black people have to victimize ourselves as if it's some targeted attack on our intelligence. They also had political leaders and thinkers there too, and they talked alot about policy. I feel like some people just don't appreciate the involvement of rappers in politics, and that speaks more about your own preferences than it does about the viability of their place there. They can and do play a vital role in activating low info voters who don't necessarily care about the politics, but do care about their favorite artists.
That's not good tho. That means they voted because people they like said too
