- To commemorate the 55th anniversary of its intended release, I have put together Lesley Gore's album, "Magic Colors", in the way it was intended to be heard. All of the songs were compiled in their correct configuration, which I determined through researching Lesley's archives and manuscripts from the New York Public Library. The album, slated for a November 1967 release, was shelved until 2011. It is one of the most criminally overlooked and underrated albums of the 60s, and in Lesley's discography. But here it is now, in the way it was meant to be heard 55 years ago. I hope you enjoy the magic that is "Magic Colors"!

A real shame that it wasn’t released when it should have been - it was a big step forward in her evolution as a pop vocalist for the ages. In her own way, Lesley had as much soul as Aretha Franklin. Her passion and spirit always shined through. Thanks very much for posting this - I loved hearing the extra verse in “To Sir With Love.”

"On A Day Like today", possibly Leslie's best recording, should have been a big hit. The same is true for another song by Leslie, titled "Treat Me Like A Lady". I believe it was a case of "been there - done that", for D.J.s. She was considered passe, and they wouldn't play any new records by Leslie Gore.
It is really good album.Mercry was stupid for not putting out for people buy it.
