She’s definitely an ace, she really showed why she is our fearless Yong leader. I personally love “Spit it out”
“Spit it” out is mainly divisive because there’s not much vocal flex much like this but yknow I love that as a soloist she doesn’t have to rely on her vocals, much like Byul and her rapping, they’ve shown it so much already as Mamamoo, that they don’t need to show it off too much in their solo title tracks. McDduk decided to take the rap game serious hehe
"SOTY" quality is exactly what I've been thinking as I've been listening to this on repeat. After the "do do do" chorus I was hoping for a post-chorus, and then she gave us a freaking three-part chorus. The energy doesn't stop with this song, it's an absolute BANGER.
And the video is obviously amazing 😳 The fun, playful vibe of everything feels so very Solar, I couldn't be happier with this release. 2 years since Spit it Out was a long wait, but boy was it worth it for this. So proud of her!
I think one of the great things we get from Mamamoo is the fact that each member is so different from each other and we are able to get a taste of different types of music. Kind of crazy to think there were 4 solo comebacks in a span of 4 months. Great reaction as always 😊
I think the symbolism is that she has the white backgrounds and the colors are supposed to represent her different sides. So when she kills the queen bee and takes her place, she's able to smash what is already established and show the colors that come through the cracks.

And yes, the opinions about Spit it out are quite divide but I personally love that song too. However, if you react to it you will notice that Honey has way more higher budget and quality...

It was really worth the wait (2 yrs). I am happy that we got 5 new songs from SOLAR. She outdid herself in this mini album... Loved the whole package !!!

AH so much to say! I love that you got the winnie the pooh reference, I thought that it was REALLY cleverly written when she talked about getting the ideas for the rap part. And the looks.....wow.......I can't wait for you to see some performance videos/stages. She's just eating this comeback up. It's dangerous, it's fun, it's catchy as fuck. She even said there was another song considered for the title track, and she said "honey is lovely, the other song is intense" which scares the living shit out of me. Apparently it will be released later on

That F*****g 3part chorus is so gooooooooooooood OMG! This songs is just a masterpiece! The composition is top notch, the lenght of this is perfect no third chorus or bridge so you just want to go back to have more. KDH really outdid himself for this song (for me at least) and Solar sweet as honey voice is just the cherry on the cake! And don't get me started on the rest of the album is just stupid bro. Also we officially have rapper Solar and i want more now XD
I just watched Solar on Jessi Showterview and fell in love with her. Like you said, she’s magnetic. I really like the song and MV. Not sure why, but I’ve never followed any female K-pop groups. I’m going to check out Mamamoo. If Solar is any indication of their talent they might become the first female K-pop group I follow.

MAMAMOO ruined kpop for me as I can no longer look at other groups because my standards are already high with mamamoo. But I ain't complaining, tho 😏 They're everything I didn't know I was looking for in kpop.

So proud of Solar on her comeback and really loved that she was able to show different sides of herself, outside of what we see from Mamamoo. Your comment about that leg frame shot was too funny. On Studio Moon Night, she shared with Moon Byul that there was a 19+ moment involved with that though she didn't go into details 😂 Can't wait for your album reaction on Patreon. This is a time where people who are new to k-pop could be surprised to find out that Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein and Hwasa are all actually part of a group with other 4 solo artists

Imo the music box lullaby isn't a false pretense but rather a clue. The busy bees who buzz around her don't see her for who she really is - their perception of her is equivalent to a children's story or fairytale where they only see her appearance (Of course I'm attractive) and her public persona (the mask) and only know her via the things that are said about her (the newspaper articles). They treat her like an idealized art object (the face sculptures) and a symbol of pure (white) beauty that they put on a pedestal to view at a safe distance. After repeated warnings at the end she destroys those illusions and reveals her true colors.
There are other layers to the song but that's a quick answer to two of your comments.

Thank you for reacting! I agree, I had high expectations because Solar, but this even exceeded those! She's so good at evoking strong feelings with her sound. We've always focused only on her voice, but I love the talent she has for composing, and all her skills really came together for this mini-album. It was magnificent, and I'd love to know what you thought about the B-sides.

It's frustrating that "spit it out" is divisive just because there are no high notes or belting in it. She does so much of that in mmm songs and wanted to show that she's more than just belting...yet a bunch seem to only want that and totally miss the point of that song (basically it's an 'i do me' anthem)
She is indeed promoting for a full week (and is also on jessi's showterview again! Talk about hilarious trouble when you get those two together now)
And yes, she's totally an ace, all the mamamoo members are. They're a beyond ridiculous quartet with way too much talent of way too many kinds
You're quite likely to lose your shit over "big booty" as well, but in a quite different way to "honey". It was her firsr ever fully self-written and self-composed song she created a few years ago and performed at her solo concerts during "starry night" era if you want a live performance of it to check out sometime. She also did a sort of performance, sort of making of video for it on her channel as a birthday release this year. The song itself is literally singing praises about big butts and wishing hers was bigger

Solar is my favorite singer of course mamamoo as well. The first words of the song are "Am I attractive" Of course I am" Yeah this is next level best song. I have also seen two live performances of this song. One in the yellow and one in the that white pants outfit and in that second live she also does her song Raw. Watch Spit it out, the intro for it is not the song spit it out but is the song Raw, guessing she decided to turn that into into a song. There is also an older song she did with two other Idols, Honey Bee, wonder if that is a coincidence. Mamamoo always delivers the best performances ever, solo or in a group. It is insane the song is less than 3 minutes, feels like 6 and you want more. And the best part, Who else but solar has such a perfect angelic disney princess face for an album titled Face. Only Solar could do this.
