This is still one of your best videos and it has nothing to do with CrossFit because your tone and texture is perfect. The thing is, you love what you are doing and your message in normal videos is guided by a good heart. That being said, I don't believe you to be infallible. I'm one of the CrossFitters that is a lifelong athlete but has also been in smaller more niche communities that are filled with disenfranchised humans. I grew up with trauma and hardship and no matter how talented I was as an athlete (I had d1 scholarship offers for football and baseball), I never felt my place. But with card games or video games (probably much like these people) I felt safe and like I had a home. CrossFit is the first time I have ever felt that and so much so that I own an affiliate. Do your good, Andrew. When you do your good, you do it well. I don't know how to put my finger on you, I don't think you are closed minded. I think your brain goes to many places for you to focus (and I'm willing to be wrong) on the bigger picture but you hyper focus on the little picture or you do the opposite. Always good to have an insight in other worlds. This one gives me sad vibes though. I mean I'm happy so many people find a place to feel acceppted and do what they love, the sad part there is that they don't seem to get that in the real world. Sorry to bring CF back in, but I bet most of these furys would find love and acceptance in CF and feel empowered in their bodys and minds through working out. Not hating, just my thoughts.
I’m practically a furry myself, and I understand your perspective. I’ve seen some furries say that the furry fandom is like their family. I think there’s levels to it. Some people take it as a hobby, and some people participate in it like a subculture, meaning that it touches multiple facets of their lives We get criticized a lot from “the real world” because of negative stereotypes, which I think pushes people to be even more connected to the furry community because at least they’re accepted
This exactly has always been my gripe with furry-ness. Nobody should be indulging in escapism. Be it alcohol use, video games, binging TV/netflix, or even making a fictional animal character to embody every now and again. If you have a problem fitting into the outside world, your only option is to power through it. I can’t stand the framing that furryness is a way for people to finally fit in somewhere. You can’t build layers and layers of abstraction onto your person. That’s giving up

I don’t think there is adequate psychoanalysis here. I also sometimes indulge in inserting myself into fiction, for instance when I listen to music sometimes I imagine myself performing it.
