I'm imagining that I'm in Guys place, flying the Spitfire... what a dream. Since I made my 1st Spitfire with my dad, aged 8... 33 years ago now, I have been Spitfire crazy! Closest I have been is 2 x AEF flights in a De Havilland Chipmunk.. it's close, she's a tail dragger! My 2nd flight was 50 minutes air experience & aerobatics. And I didn't puke! :) Closest to owning a Spitfire are my rc models, a Parkzone 1.4 meter wingspan. I have 2 other rc Spits & a P51. See... Spitfire crazy!
I suggest a Temora Spitfire week be declared to coincide with all the bike riders going to Philip Island for the MOTO GP in Philip Island. What a week to remember! 😊
What would you say wayester71 if YOU were the SON of a WW2 RAF fighter pilot who flew this Spitfire TB863 in 1945 ? I then flew SPITFIRE ML407 in memory of my late father(1915-84) on my 50th birthday in 1995 !!!
Awesome takeoff! what a sound! Love the Merlin.
