First of all India have high traders in F&O is due to ban on forex, other countries have one more available option that is forex that’s why they have low volumes in derivatives.
Secondly you can’t compare Avg loss (1.25lakh) with per capita income because datasets for both the calculation is different.
If you want to compare then compare the per capita income of F&O traders with Avg loss in F&O.
And why are you comparing numbers of US with India where India’s population is extremely higher then US, compare total percentage of population involved in stock market.
And if some new guy wants to try his future in trading then what’s wrong?

This reason given by BJP govt about restricting risk of retail traders for introducing 30% tax is just bullschit. The real reason is that people have stopped using stupid worthless SIPs/Insurance and other Wealth management fraudulent companies where people actually lost money. I took loan of 4 Lakh from bank and I thought let’s invest 2 Lakh in stocks and with rest 2 lakh I will trade F&O.
I invest 2 Lakhs in TATA MOTORS and took 250 quantity at Rs 850 its current price is 1000 and I am in profit of 40-45k around.
The rest 2 Lakh rupees I traded in F&O is showing Fund Not Available in my trading account 😊

Main cash mkt. mein trade karna chata hoon but carry forward karne mein jo charges hai bahooth high hai. Further leverage bhi nahin. So lagbhag 1-2 din wala trading loss making hai. So basically long term or swing trading karna hoga. 1-2-3 lakh ke capital se isko business bana mushkil hai.

Secondly, govt ne business losses cover karte h unke liye bolo 30% tax slab lane aur na ki retailers ke liye jo business loss recover nahi karte.
