It’s a good investment even if you are not planing to live in your home for long… it could be a good selling point for the next person, maybe they are planning to make it their forever home.

I love it. I built a new home in 06-07 and had the front all EIFS and the sides and back all hardboard and I mean 4x10 ‘ siding with vinyl painted boards on each seam. My home is beautiful and everyone loves the stucco look and hardboard on sides and back. Presently this home and siding is 15.5 years old and it looks great. So I like it.

Hardie board is the best. It’s worth the money. I use it for soffit, trim, facia etc.

Just so you know. I was shocked. 66k quote due to insulation vs 32k for a full brick home.

It’s surprising to see such a big price difference. The cost of James Hardie siding can indeed be influenced by factors like insulation and the complexity of the installation. While the initial investment might be higher, many homeowners find that the durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal of James Hardie siding provide long-term value. Plus, the added insulation can improve energy efficiency, which might save on utility bills over time. It's always a good idea to compare all your options and consider both short-term costs and long-term benefits. Thanks again for sharing!

Does Hardie siding really protect against woodpecker damage?

Thank you for checking out the video!
Yes, the fiber cement material that James Hardie is made out of is not appealing to Woodpeckers or pests. Mostly because it looks like wood but isn't wood. Of course, nothing is full proof and if there is a big enough woodpecker with enough motivation, they might be able to do some damage. haha. But with that said pest deterrent is one of James Hardie's big selling points.

Hardie planks are the same size as vinyl planks and only $1 more each piece. That seems like a great investment to me. Cheap vinyl compared to quality cement fiber.

We agree! James Hardie can be an investment, but if installed correctly, with the right company it could last the life of your home.
