Such a beautiful and intelligent discussion between husband and wife analyzing a difficult decision Great that both of you are able to look back at the pros and cons without blaming the other
Congratulations on keeping it real. Stay true to your convictions. Everything else will magically fall in place. No country is perfect. Whenever you doubt your decision, ask yourself this: Would I rather deal with the problems of my "home" country or the problems of a foreign/adopted country? Another R2I bonus that often gets lost in the shuffle is that your return is helping you become active contributors to nation building 🇮🇳.
Thanks Mani for sharing your honest opinion. Glad you feel the decision to move back home was right and true the current India is fast evolving. I visit yearly so I can really see the difference. And Wow 10/10 is a great start! If I may ask which society have you chosen in Noida?
Meaningful and transparent dialogue- Thank you! Would you like to share a discussion on the decision to retain the housing asset back in the US Vs Selling it back and then R2I?
Loved the honest opinion..how long it took to convince and what were the counter arguments on either side for their points? can be a subject for another video❤
Everyone takes his own decisions based on individual circumstances and means. Now to determine if one's decision is the right one, one has to allow some time to pass to give the verdict.
We lived in Dubai for 3 years back in 90ies,it was a PSU posting. My husband got many opportunities there, my teachers salary was 10 times, children also had Indian schools.India had not taken off then. Both countries were far far apart.Yet parents old age,and missing home and family functions weddings etc pulled us back. Money was important but not the only attraction.
Highly recommend your next video is about things to take care if you plan to move back to India. Clearing out such hassles would probably encourage many others to think about moving back
Don't get me wrong, however what I feel that deep within your hearts you all as a family are still trying to convince yourself, that you both have made the right decision by moving back to India. By looking at your videos it seems that you want some sort of confirmation or support from the viewers that your decision was correct. The day you decide to change the name of your channel from NRI Life to Indian life----that will the day you can say that you have made the right decision. Anyways as said by mam- "Life is too small...why think a lot". All I can say that- "Home is where Heart is." So find out where your heart is, as long term decisions are taken by heart and not by the mind.
Very informative video👍 thanks , I would like to know how did you and your children manage with studies as it’s totally different school system. I am planning to come back India from UK but worried how my daughter who is in grade 8 will adjust in Indian school system. Did your children faced difficulties? How did you and children manage to? Thanks
Hi Amit and Mani.... Great to find this podcast.... my mom shared it with me and my brother, who is also going through same phase... she liked this video a lot as it captures all the key issues.. Thanks for sharing it.. really appreciate your views. 😊❤
Nice video! Thanks for sharing your journey. I request you to plan a video on how you managed your finances ( I mean conversion of investments from us to India assets) it can be your 401 k, Roth IRA and wt were your learnings from it? If someone just started there NRI life and plan to come back in next 10-12 yrs what all investments options would be good or u suggest from taxation point of view across both countries. Thanks again. TC
Somehow I feel the husband has an upper hand in deciding to move back or not. Ultimately men get their way and women somehow just tag along involuntarily
Yes, since your elder went there in 10th grade, it would really be very interesting to hear from him about his experiences, challenges regarding studies and all.
Kids not requird, we can trust the parents how they planned everything from kids and self perspective. I feel exposing kids to social platforms is not good.@@myNRILife
If you didn’t mind could you tell me what was your green card status in USA . I’m about to get it by next year or 2. What would you advise me . Should I come and taste Indian life up till I get my green card. I’m willing to but I’m scared.
Kids are your priority is so heartwarmimg, but today womens priority is her career and only career.Men are more open minded. Not whole of India is polluted.
It is true that all of India is not polluted but it is also true that most well paying jobs are in cities that are most polluted. The good infrastructure that returning NRIs want does not exist in smaller towns or tier 3 cities.
Good discussion and analysis ! Yes India is changing fast in terms of development and technology and the current leadership is comparatively has done some good development but corruption is still there as it is though might be little bit reduced overall . But one nagging truth about this country is still vast majority of the people are NOT patriotic or really care about the country or public property / places. . We can find it everywhere as very few obey the rules or law voluntarily unlike in most of the developed countries where a good majority obey the rules and be compliant Voluntarily. For Example you take a road signal at any city in India, only 25 to 30% obey it voluntarily and rest just ignore and keep driving, drive through one-ways or drive in the wrong side , drink and drive, use phones while driving etc etc .... which shows the mindset and also the reason for the huge spike in Road Accidents in this country / go to any picnic spot / place of interest you can find things being thrown around making the place dirty and polluted. You go to a beach you can see plastics, Garbage, Liquor bottles etc are freely thrown around and the list goes on and on Ironically these same people when go abroad observe all the rules !! People blame politicians being corrupt but themselves are corrupt as well as the very same ones who blame politicians as corrupt are the first ones to approach them or any authority to get their personal things "done" by offering money . One thing is sure for any country to become a super power or fully developed at least 70% of the people should be patriotic and should voluntarily obey the rule of the land and be compliant and corruption free which will automatically force the politicians too to become less corrupt else the country CANNOT become a fully developed one at all . But there is slight hope that things might change in the distant future at least ! god willing ..
Not sure where this is going for you. Seems like you moved your family from suburb to gated community in Noida trying to recreate US lifestyle in India. Did you have visa problems?
