Calls to shut Don Dale Youth Detention Centre

There are calls for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to intervene and shut down the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre following new claims of abuse at the facility.

How can you even start to have an argument about the age of criminal responsibility if these kids are intellectually disabled? If they have behavioral problems why can't they be on a low dose of atypical antipsychotics, even if it is just CBD oil, and then put into the community? All detention/correction facilities are dirty and need to be thoroughly looked at
Stopping recidivism should be corrections main priority. Going against the general publics human right to safety by refusing to rehabilitate criminals of not only drugs and alcohol, but criminal values and mindsets.
Corrections in general are more interested with screwing with criminals, turning them against one another, and attempting to place them in danger while they're inside.
Problem is that corrections officers, even in sentence management division ALSO believe in criminal values, they just have no charges.
Australia is a rancid country. Everything/everyone needs reforming.
Shutting down don Dale will do nothing but make a brand new facility to do the exact same thing.
