@DarkBeast 27: Me too! Minutemen all the way!!! RR to me are more like SJWs, although I like them but I don't agree putting Synths above humans. The thought that a synth replaced a human it doesn't sit well with me.
@@brocksamson7164 In my opinion I don't believe they actually value synth life over human life. Heard this theme at the Switchboard for the first time. Reminds me of 1970s conspiracy thrillers and the theme for The Parallax View. Very fitting for the Railroad and Institute paranoia.
(spoilers) I play Fallout 4 with my music off most of the time so I can play my own music, and while I'm going through the Brotherhood of Steel questline I get to the part where you wipe the railroad out. Near the end of the fight while I was picking off the grunts left behind after killing all the major characters, I remembered I had my music off and turned it on just because. After everyone was dead, I heard this for the first time. (since before now I hadn't entered the Railroad HQ with music on) Now, it may seem weird to you (maybe not) but music in general is very close to my heart and something about hearing this with dead bodies strewn about made me really made me question my choices. "Am I doing the right thing here?"
The only thing I’ll say about the Railroad is that they’re kind of misguided. They’re right to want to free the synths, but it shouldn’t be the only issue they focus on as it’s not the biggest issue the Commonwealth faces. It doesn’t warrant their destruction though, so killing them is wrong and is one reason why the BoS (who is right to want to destroy the institute, but is going about it in completely the wrong way) is evil.

In my early hours of a first playthrough I came across an underground room that played this music. I know now that it was a hidden entrance to the Railroad HQ but back then I had no idea except that it must be something secret and intriguing given this unique and memorable music.
I wish I could've saved Deacon. I rolled in their and wanted to save them, but they didn't want to hear it. I threw god knows how many Synth Grenades at them and watched, watched closely and in secretive pain as people I did consider friends were slain by the things they were trying to liberate. It was then, I could see the irony of the situation, and I came to the realization that each member that fell, was more and more of a light that was put out for Synths everywhere. I realized I was ending their chances and hope of escaping the Institute. I understood that I was the monster they feared and fought against. We slaughtered them all, and strung their corpses on their pedestal as a constant reminder. A reminder that The Institute will not be a faction to trifle with, and that our goal will be completed. A reminder that will haunt me till the end of my days. The trumpet adds a 1920'/1930's Police/Mafia feel to it. If you go there as Silver Shroud and have Nick as a companion.. you're basically a Hero with a Detective sidekick..
The Railroad has good morals, and i believe they have good intentions, but they really only ever look out for themselves and synths. They're not really equipped to sustain order or peace in the Commonwealth, not that they try hard for that Too bad they're so cool, it'd be cooler if they were a side faction, because after the end of the main quest they have no other big dreams besides fighting for only synths
This theme fills me with determination for some reason, maybe because for me it sounds futuristic and melancholic at the same time - picturing a world devastated by a nuclear war 200 years ago and then suddenly you experience a jump into the future. I wish it'd play whenever I'm roaming the Commonwealth at night while looking at the starry sky.
You know whats the sad part, like the minutemen, the railroad was pushed back so far only the minute men just didn't have the castle as a base, the railroad was forced to go underground in a crypt which is kinda foreshadowing of the fate of their organization, even in their quest line, the keep losing more and more, and our finally sitting in a physical and metamorphical big coffin. Their our the one with the most sympathies deserved.
Also to add, the Prydwen is also very foreshadowing, as it is essential the representation of the brotherhood, and it too is represented as being a precarious position, it has all the firepower it could need, one critical hit was all it needed to crash and burn. The brotherhood is basically putting all their eggs in one basket, and if the blimp goes down they go down. But compared to the railroad, they feel more hopeful with them being in the sky like a guardian while the railroad is barely surviving, already walking dead as hinted by the crypt's dreary setting and all. One good trespasser or raiding party and their toast.

I always loved having the Railroad as a side faction during my Minuteman play-throughs. BOS is also present but I mainly focus on Minutemen and Railroad, isolated the two factions are pretty boring but when sharing a Playthrough it makes the Minutemen a bit spicy, as if they're a front for the Wider Railroad resistance. It's a lot of fun, I just wish both factions had more proper quests. Maybe there is modded quests out there but Fallout 4 Modding is many time harder and laggier then Fallout NV modding, else I'd be working on it myself.
2023 fresh install and play.. That's why I'm hear, Totally forgot about this as I focused on the MM quests till past level 40. Hearing this tune creep in under the doughnut shop was bliss. Most fitting faction tune ever, makes you love the railroad.
The railroad was a nice faction, and I enjoy that people highlight the Railroad really don't give a damn about the Commonwealth's people. Too interested in the wellbeing of synths. but I wish the Railroad also were forced to know they might be responsible for creating dangerous people. Like the Raider Boss in Libertalia. Or how the Institute could've been using the Railroad to send their synths out into the world. So much potential for idealistic freedom fighters. But they just didn't give enough direction to take it.
Ngl I never thought of the railroad as an organization to save and free synths, but more of a shadowy intelligence organization that pulls strings around the commonwealth and fights against the institute with subterfuge.
Anyone else feel nostalgic? As if this soundtrack has been playing in my life in very unique and rare moments. This is what I call genius music because it sounds very familiar even though I haven't heard it before.
I usually side with the Minutemen to incorporate the least amount of bloodshed. But if I had to choose one of the other three factions, it’d be these guys. -Fuck the Institute -The Brotherhood was done dirty characterization-wise in this game -I like being able to free the synth slaves -Deacon is hilarious
So who else found The Deliverer handgun, crafted a silencer for it, removed all armour, put on a Tuxedo, and entered third person view whilst wandering the Railroad HQ..?

Maybe there is modded quests out there but Fallout 4 Modding is many time harder and laggier then Fallout NV modding, else I'd be working on it myself.
Heads up, Tom's got more goodies in stock. Check with him.
5:04 - 5:16 Looks so much like James Bond music... or something like that
Bro has synesthesia
It's one crisis after another welcome to HQ
But they just didn't give enough direction to take it.
coolest music in the fo4 so far
My only reason to side with the Railroad as an ally to the Minutemen: Curie & Nick.
Did you end the Game with the Minutemen at least?
レールロードほど風前の灯という言葉が似合う団体はないだろう
ミニッツメン&レールロードがベストエンディングだと勝手に思ってる
Made me feel safe but...alittle uneasy, yet mysterious...love the feel of this track
if the BOS didn't want to kill everything nonhuman they would be the best faction (and not have Mr Jefferson from life is strange as their leader)
I kill mr Maxson every playthrough
Until I want to get the achievements that’s gonna stay that way
By far one of the best faction themes.
In FO4 of course, sadly I never got arround to play FO3:New Vegas
+igoruberwald you need too, they're both great games.
5:04 best part imo
So sad when Glory dies.
Rico Dagg how does she die tho?
Noahthehyperpotato BoF she bleeds out i think
NO SPOILERS
@@fecas161 The game has been out since 2015.
Ngl I never thought of the railroad as an organization to save and free synths, but more of a shadowy intelligence organization that pulls strings around the commonwealth and fights against the institute with subterfuge.
Desdemona/Railroad was the only one not doing it just to establish power
I´m the only that appreciates this faction? :(
this theme always makes me think of Earthbound for the SNES
Anyone else feel nostalgic? As if this soundtrack has been playing in my life in very unique and rare moments. This is what I call genius music because it sounds very familiar even though I haven't heard it before.
レールロードルート、パラディン・ダンスがエルダーになってからBOSと和解するルートが欲しかったよね
5:18 hits hard
It looks like a James Bond Theme
I usually side with the Minutemen to incorporate the least amount of bloodshed. But if I had to choose one of the other three factions, it’d be these guys.
-Fuck the Institute
-The Brotherhood was done dirty characterization-wise in this game
-I like being able to free the synth slaves
-Deacon is hilarious
Favourite new faction by far.
The whole Railroad/Institute plot reminded me of the movie Equilibrium with blade runner thrown in.
So who else found The Deliverer handgun, crafted a silencer for it, removed all armour, put on a Tuxedo, and entered third person view whilst wandering the Railroad HQ..?
+mAcroFaze Doesn't it already have a silencer when you get it ?
Vincent Bédard I don't think it did! I could be wrong though!
Then Drummer Boy tells you that Tinker Tom has some new stock and you see that Tom sells an "Armored Tuxedo".
Back here after leaving this comment 6 years ago... Honestly, this tune is probably the one that most strongly takes me back to that time when I was playing this game. So much seemed a hell of a lot better back then than it does now!
I love this song
Best theme for the best faction
This track, especially the rhythmic electronic beeping, reminds me of 'Over and Out' from the On Her Majesty's Secret Service soundtrack.
That harmonica though...
1:20 is the best part
James Bond, Inception and Inon Zur rolled into one.
that ost gives me the sensation I am smiling towards the opposite man of the table while I am caressing my silencer and attaching it to my gun
This theme invokes a strong feeling of nostalgia in me - It sounds like something that could be in a PS2 Ratchet and Clank game.
