YSL has finally arrived at my door step and I have some opinions. The newest flanker from the YSL BLACK OPIUM line is here and this one is OVER RED. Is this another Cherry perfume or just another cash grab? Let's Gossip.

I smelled this at Sephora today and was actually pleasantly surprised because it didn’t smell like all the other cherry fragrances like Lost Cherry. To me it very much smells like Black Opium but with a cherry note. I actually like the cherry in this, it’s darker.

I smelled this at sephora and did not like it. I was excited because of that cherry note but its missing the true black opium dna. I wish this was more sweet then dark. Thanks for the honest review and happy new years boo.
Mine just arrived and I also agree…was expecting to be blown away as I loooove Black Opium and all of its flankers. But this is so far from Black Opium’s DNA that I don’t really see why it’s a flanker. Was a bit disappointed, not gonna lie. 😭
Love this honest review! I completely agree with you. I just returned my bottle- although it seems to be sold out everywhere. It doesn’t smell like cherry coffee to me though 😫 so I’m disappointed. I didn’t even smell Cherry at the openning, very patchulli and vanilla on the dry down. Not what I was hoping. 💔

I love how your outfit matches the perfume bottle! I tried this one the other day. I think it's nice, but not full bottle worthy - it's too similar to the original for me. I thought the cherry note was more noticeable in the dry down, but it wasn't prominent. I wanted more cherry and less coffee, but I enjoyed it regardless because I love the black opium DNA. Thanks for the review!!
That's what I was hoping for, more cherry. To me the cherry fades away. Some ppl will for sure love this scent but not for me.
I absolutely agree with you. I got my nose on it a few days ago, and to me once it dried down, it was a bit woody, but the same ,same from the YSL line of black opium. almost more toned down than black opium . Nothing groundbreaking. I can mix my black opium with Guerlain. Petite robe noir.. a much better and darker cherry. It lasts longer something I've been doing for a while. Thank you so much for your review, which is exactly how I felt about it. It will please the masses.

Sometimes, a perfume changes as it macerates and sits , notes mingle together over time and gets better. I hope I like it. I haven’t smelled any of the ones you mentioned, I’m kind of worried now. Lol

Something about the note of cherry puts me in a party mood, but I already have 2 perfumes that are dark, sweet cherries. Not sure I need a 3rd.
I am curious abou the Over Red flanker, but i do have also the LoveFest Burning Cherry, probably i don't need it.. So i will test if i will find in the Sephora and decide after. I don't want to blind buy because i adore LoveFest Burning.

Happy New Year! I bought this fragrance as well with high hopes and was definitely let down. It's a no for me. I'm hoping that letting the bottle sit for a little while may help but I'm super disappointed.
Wow sooo they actually gave us a true cherry fragrance. I actually thought they would’ve given us a cherry latte fragrance!💁🏽♀️🙄
I’m gonna try to layer it with another perfume….Either I’ll find something that will bring out the cherry note more or the creamy notes
Received this the other day from Sephora, was actually able to use the 20% fragrance discount and I’m glad, because this dries down to original Black Opium to me. I like it, but it’s just like a backup for me! Wish the cherry was stronger and stayed.
I also wish the cherry note was more loud and didn't fade away fast. Could be better but just not for me.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the new perfumes doesn't have that "extra" note that makes the fragrance unique, fells that all the new releases is pleasure but doesn't have personality.

Whenever I smell a perfume, if it wows me right away that tells me I most likely never smelled something like it and that usually happens when scent has that special note that makes the perfume stand out and "unique" this one didn't wow me. I did expect more I guess.

I got the travel size and I was not impressed. Gonna finish the travel size but it won’t be a full bottle.

I get a little bit of kayali for the most part. Def- not the same but I feel like they could potentially come from the same world of cherry perfumes. If that make sense lol.
I love the FIRST SNIFF. 1 spray. Get burst of cherry and coffee…. Then 5 seconds later its GONE. 😭 why can they keep these notes going throughout??? Then it fades to barely there.
I have three Black Opiums so I’ll definitely pass. Plus not a fan of cherry at all.

I wish you didn't limit your comparisons to just the first 5 minutes of top notes. I think comparing these fragrances at initial spray and also after 4 hours would be super helpful.
thanks for that. Just remember this is a first impressions video. TBH I still think this perfume was disappointing. Cherry note fades away completely and it just becomes a coffee scent. I could have been better but it really depends on your taste in perfumes.

Worth the price point?? I own the intense version. I don’t want a repetitive perfume.
Depends, for me I don't think it's worth the price simply for the fact that the perfume didn't wow me. If you like dark coffee perfumes with a pinch of cherry, you will love it and the price tag will be worth it. It comes down to your taste.
It must be hard to create a cherry perfume 😢😢 none of them last!? I’m dying for cherry that is strong af & lasts?? and I don’t mind smoke or woods I love my Kayali cherry but it doesn’t last either ehhh 😢😢
Banana republic makes/made a cherry fragrance. Lasts longer but its been a while since I wore it
Bought this perfume when it first came out and it went back 3 days later..it’s a NO for me
Smelled like cherry throat spray or cherry Nyquil to me. I hated it.
Disappointing cherry note isn't more prominent definitely something better on the market already
Personally I didn't like this at all. It dry down to masculine and the cherry note did a magic trick on me so I didn't get this.
Not a huge fan of this perfume I mix it with vanilla scent or love fest
